THR Happy, hippy, Christine

Thank you, Jo, for your always pithy and pertinent comments :heehee: I have had a very restful day today after all the family (9+2 babies) were here for Easter! All I have done today is sit on a chair in the garden enjoying the lovely weather  and eaten some easter chocolate!!

Well I've joined the ODIC today, tidying too much and just stretched up to hang some laundrey and twisted new hip . I've just felt my hip as I walked and can feel a slight click so worried I have done some damage plus I'm feeling a bit down as well as not feeling I'm progressing much. Need to slow down and ice more often, so am now in bed with said ice and painkillers and will see if it's settled more tomorrow. I promise to have a quiet day tomorrow even if the house looks a complete mess - it bothers me far more than the men in the house and I know I need to chill about it - - rant over

@mollymum, most men don't notice it so let it slide.... It will all be there tomorrow or next week or next month. Take care of yourself and call your OS if you need to :console2:

Also, let them know what happened and let them know you can relax better if things are not getting too out of control but need their help. I hope you feel lots better tomorrow!

Just up for my third pee of the night and feeling better this morning, hip is a bit stiff but not so sore and can't feel any click, phew Mantra for today is 'walk don't twist' and 'rest and ice' and I'm sure that will help the slight groin pain also , onwards and upwards!

Hi Christine. I'm glad to see that you are feeling better this morning. Take it easy and baby that hip girl.. it's going to last a very long time.

Hope you have a chilled out day:ice:
Healing hugs @mollymum :console2:

Happy you are feeling better this morning! Your plan for today sounds just perfect for what you need. I find it really helps the groin pain if I can kind of edge the ice pack in from the crease of my hip/upper thigh and right into the groin (make sure you go pee before trying this at home :heehee:)

Good for you for easing up for a bit.
All temporary and well worth the patience.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Post-op day 25
Saturday evening and it has rained all day here in Grimsby! I have just pottered about the house and taken pain relief regularly.
I'm still feeling quite a bit of pain/discomfort in my hip when walking, hope its muscular so maybe just healing still taking place, its always worse by the evening, so must be to do with how much walking I do, but does not seem to be getting better  . It has felt this way since Weds when I joined ODIC, (and I'm not doing much walking except in the house -- I have not been outside my drive yet so only walking 100 mtrs or so about 2 times a day) The pain does seem to be associated with weight bearing and is all around my hip joint and in my thigh, and it hurts to sit in any position for longer than 20 mins, which is why I go to my bed at mid day :yes!:. where I am pain free, with ice etc. Early days yet, and I'm sure it will all improve!
Doing lots of knitting and stuff on computer, and did a little ironing and a shower this morning, so managed the stairs to do that.
Men and dogs in house are all feeling neglected:dogwalk: this evening, I don't think any of them realised how long it would take for me to get back to 'normal' :heehee:. Weather should be better tomorrow, so I'll hope to get out a bit more, and sit in the garden.
Then friends coming Monday afternoon to take me out to tea, so that will be a real treat.....

I'm sorry you're still in pain. It's such early days and long dreary rainy days feeling captive in the house sure don't help the mood. Hopefully tomorrow feels brighter.
Stops in the ODIC can take some time to recoup from, depending how you overdid it.
You have the right idea with less activity, lots of icing and rest. Hopefully the tide will turn for you soon.
Wishing you comfort and speedy relief :console2:
@mollymum

It takes a while for those strained muscles to settle... hope it settles down & you enjoy your outing ... good to have something to look forward to x

@mollymum I could virtually have written your post. I am really surprised that I am not out walking in the neighbourhood by now. I think if I was able to sleep better I would have more physical strength and be more able to get out and walk about. My numb leg is a real problem and until the nerves repair it is likely to be for a while so I am just trying to accept my limitations and do what I am able.
