THR Happy, hippy, Christine

Happy Saturday @mollymum
It sounds like you're doing well. It's always good to hear the wound looks as it should.
I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend so far.
Enjoy the hot cross buns!

Thanks @Layla, the weekend has been OK. I felt a bit 'fluy' yesterday, and think it might be the disolvable aspirin I have gone on to having finished Clexane injections. Last night I took an enteric coated one instead and feel better this morning. I still get the odd sweaty moment, and am still looking a bit pale, but walking is better every day and thigh discomfort responds to ice :) have just tidied the kitchen after breakfast, supplied by my husband who reckons he's earning lots of 'brownie points' for all the things he's doing for me:heehee: Hope everyone has a good day.
Christine

Now I want hot cross buns too!:unsure:

At almost two weeks, you are doing very well!:tada:
Hope today is a Good Day!:SUNsmile:

@mollymum
My favourite now is the Gok Wan... say yes to the dress... my hubby detests them all.
Love it or List It... love that too!!!!

Happy Monday :wave:
Glad to hear your stomach is feeling better after switching the pain reliever.
I think an odd sweaty moment and paleness are both rather common at this stage.
As you get further along and become more active you'll feel better and look better.
It's still early days at only 13 days post op. Continue balancing sleep with rest and you'll be on your way.
Thanks for the update!

@carrymay60-- I was really quite well b4 LHR- had it done sooner rather than later as per OS suggestion. So hadn't been hobbling about with OA for too long.
And tidying up kitchen only was 5 mins work to put a few things in dishwasher one handed:angel:
Onwards & upwards,
Christine

Hi, everyone I'm sleeping in an adjustable single bed at night with the backrest almost flat and the footrest raised to elevate both legs. This is very comfortable but I think I should maybe try sleeping with legs flat? Any input on this would be appreciated - I've had buttock pain on walking (3-4) helped by paracetamol for the past 2-3 days, better after icing of course and am trying to walk around house every hour then sitting either on a straight chair or recliner. The best place to elevate legs is in the bed but I didn't do this this afternoon, and wonder if this has made the hip/buttock pain worse? Thanks for any insight, Bonesmarties

I would guess if you changed only one factor and the pain is worse, the change is the culprit. I think we see what staff says but I thought I elevation is good for about an hour. All night might be pushing it. You could slowly decrease the level of elevation over a week or so? Do you have much swelling?

Hi Christine,
Wondering if you have a lot of swelling? I don't know that it's necessary to elevate all night. Not sure what @Josephine advises, so I'm tagging her. I would think that 30-60 minutes every few hours would be adequate. Toes above nose. I would try sleeping with legs flat at night simply because it's more natural, and elevate during the day. I hope you have a lovely weekend!
@mollymum

Thanks all, its 6am in UK and I've slept with bed flat (almost ) since last night and just woken up! Feels good to have slept more naturally , thanks for the replies - I don't have hardly any swelling @Layla, so will take yr advice and just elevate a couple of times a day. Paracetamol then coffee coming up . Hope everyone has a good day,

Hope you’ve had a good day and the pain is easing off...
Hope you’ve also had the benefit of some lovely sunshine today..

Thanks @Josephine ️ I don't think I'm walking too much - I might have exaggerated slightly with the hourly walks and I'll stop worrying about having my legs elevated overnight for now . Hope everyone sleeps well tonight,

:hi:I think you are doing very well for early days!
Some of our recovery comes from working out what works best for us...
Hope your weekend is peaceful and all continues to get better and better!
Patience is prescribed in large doses...
Healing hugs coming at you :roseshwr:
