THR Happy, hippy, Christine

I remember those first few days when things seemed to revolve around what time I needed to take my meds, and making sure I was up and moving around enough regularly. It's so nice once you get a little further out and can focus on other things!:) You sound like you are off to a great start! :flwrysmile:

@mollymum
I found taking the paracetamol during the day & then saved the codeine til bedtime & during the night helped the first few days.
After that it helped to walk off the stiffness first.
Glad you are walking well .... after the first week everything starts to feel better. x

Hi Molly, hope you are getting some good rest now and the pain managed. It is all a bit of trial and error I guess. So far my appetite is increased a lot over pre-op so hoping that holds for me as I have not been eating well for a very long time. Catching up on all the posts from this week, I am slowly believing the best route is the one we often see here, 'one day at a time'. Kind of wishing I could skip the next few days though and pick up in a slightly better place :). I am sure you feel much the same! Keep on feeling better as you go! :SUNsmile:

:hi: Glad to see you are emerging from some of the rough stuff.
My appetite was lacking for week or so...I nibbled on grapes (just seem to suit me) did some chicken noodle soup and saltine crackers...need to keep Something on that tummy for the meds!
Healing hugs!:console2:

Day 5, Sunday lunch, and the prunes have worked!
It's been a stiff day today - but have been keeping up with walking. Was able to sit in a chair at the table for Sunday lunch cooked by my hubby then snoozed in the recliner until the boat race on tv. Other daughter and 7 month old grand son coming for a few days tomorrow -now icing and looking forward to episode 2 of Line of Duty

Hi there :hi:
It seems you're doing well, @mollymum
Sounds like you enjoyed a lazy Sunday afternoon with lunch cooked by hubs, followed by a snooze in the recliner. That's what early recovery is all about. Lots of rest for your healing body. Enjoy time with your daughter and grandson this week!

Hope you are enjoying your family time but not overdoing it...
so glad the prunes worked.. such a relief...!!
Sounds like you’ve turned the stiffness corner too.. take care x

Thanks @Hoppy Nanny slow progress continues and I'm just listening to my body and resting as needed. I got a 3 month trial of Audible and am enjoying Michelle Obama reading her book 'Becoming' (when I can stay awake that it's ) Just managed a walk to the kitchen, with frame, and toasted a hot cross bun

Hot cross buns, hot cross buns, one a penny, two a penny, hot cross buns :heehee: That's all I know about them. Never saw one, never tasted one....are they good? Must be or you wouldn't be making them.

Wonderful news you're doing well. May it only get better and better.
A great rest of the day to you!
@mollymum

Well done you.... listening to your body is what this recovery is all about...
Now I want a Hot Cross Bun... gonna send hubby out for some... see what you’ve done ...[emoji23][emoji23]

They were on my list too but the store was sold out. @Layla, they are delicious and how you like them is very individual. I like mine with a little butter and then pan fried for a minute. They look like a bit of work to make so I only get them at Easter usually.
@mollymum I bet that is a wonderful book! Love that lady!!

Back to hospital today for wound check, all well and each end stitch removed. Pottering about this afternoon with frame getting kitchen tidy then had 2hr nap . Hope Everton else is having a good day,
Christine

Sounds like you are doing just fine.... so pleased... I’m loving my afternoon naps... it feels so naughty, doesn’t it! but so nice [emoji23][emoji3590]
