THR Happy, hippy, Christine

The Spring weather is not much different in my neck of the woods waaaay across the pond from you.
I've had the AC on one day and the heat on another. It's crazy! I'm longing for the normal moderate temps of Spring before the heat and humidity of Summer arrives. I hope the weather becomes more Spring like for you too @mollymum

It's great you're noticing weekly progress and are encouraged by it. Very early days at only one month post op. Lots of time for improvement. You're on your way! :happydance:
A great week to you!

Sounds like you are doing well and established on just one stick; good for you! We finally got some sun yesterday that had a bit of warmth to it and more today. Hope your weather improves soon!

Milder today, and just had my first supermarket shop for 5 weeks! it was good to be out and about, even though my son drove and pushed the shopping cart :ok: . Sat in the driver seat when we got home and it feels OK--I could do an emergency stop if I had to-- so role on next week and permission to drive :fingersx:

Good job, @mollymum I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my first grocery trip. Bought far too much but love having all those little things I love for cooking.

Hope you are released for driving next week. A new level of independence!

Hi mollymum, how are you getting in and out of your car? Side saddle? Sit and swivel?

Choosing nice food over what you just need is soooo good... so glad you enjoyed it @mollymum

Slowly taking back all you’ve lost is so good... enjoy!!!

Recovery is so up and down!:blackcloud: almost 6 weeks out and still feeling tired and got a sore butt on the operated side , so struggling to see much progress!. Sitting in the recliner seems to make it worse so I'm using as upright chair, and elevating on the bed (then promptly falling asleep all afternoon), so consequently had little sleep overnight.
I know from this great forum that this too will pass, just wish it would hurry up and do it :sigh:

I'm sick of knitting, don't want to watch TV, so I'm going out for a walk, as it's stopped raining today and the sun is shining :) - but I will take some more pain relief before I do that.
I might even use my bus pass and go somewhere nice to walk, like the Cleethorpes sea front again.
Need to get out of this house as rugby and football will be on all afternoon , although I have to admit to enjoying the recent European matches that Liverpool/Spurs won :yahoo:

Hope all of you over the pond are having a good day, and hugs to anyone affected by the flooding that I saw on CNN this morning - we live in very flat Lincolnshire and may well be impacted by rising sea levels in the future, but today all is calm here.

I'm sorry you are frustrated.
I do remember those days well.
You have done very well this far so I hope you are able to get through this exasperating recovery phase also.
(Not a lot of choices...)
Getting out a bit is sure to help.
Just take lots of pitstops and know that it will get better!
Not to far out to keep that Ice going.
Hugs for a good day.

That’s annoying & frustrating @mollymum which does sum up this recovery, doesn’t it...[emoji849]
I keep imagining all those tendons & muscles throbbing away trying to heal... but that pain in the butt.. is just so annoying...
Hope you get to Cleethorpes on the Sea Front... I usually make sure coffee stops are available anywhere I walk..
Wishing you a better day xxx

Happy Saturday @mollymum
Recovery is very up and down. I'm sorry it feels as though you're in a valley right now.
Thankfully you understand it's only temporary, but it doesn't make you feel any better while you're in the midst of it.

I hope you're able to get out for the walk you're desiring. Cleethorpes on the Sea sounds peaceful.
The names of many of the places member's from the U.K. mention sound so romantic, idyllic and picturesque.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend no matter how you spend it.
Hugs :friends:

Sunday afternoon and I've had a lovely weekend! Amazing to me how just 'venting' in print always helps me to see how much I have to be grateful for :loveshwr:

Butt ache has almost gone-- On reflection, too much sitting and knitting may have been contributing to my stiffness / achy-ness:groan: so more walking tomorrow for me---and a lovely excuse to go window shopping, too ................

6,000 steps is awesome!! You are really coming along fast now! I love sitting down on a Sunday and really feeling like I've had a wonderful weekend. I think I may be sitting a bit too much as well and need to get off my butt more. Our weather has just been atrocious for outside walking and of course I am scared to death of slipping on a wet mall floor. I think we are clearing up on Wednesday for a good week or so according to the forecast :yes!:

I too need to get up and out more. I was just saying to my friend that if it's nice tomorrow we may well venture around the block with my leg brace on. Roll on the time when I can venture around the block without it

Saw my OS last Tuesday, happy with my progress, and all restrictions lifted (ODIC here I come-if I'm not careful) but I still have some thigh discomfort and using a cane outside because of this, all quite normal, I know.
I also re-met my hip buddy (who had her LHR on same day as me and was across the corridor-we met on our walks with physio!). She is 8 years older than me, and had been walking without cane since week 4 :thud: just shows me how different we all are, and that all recoveries go at their own pace :ok:.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

I am (slowly) getting my campervan ready for summer trips, starting in June with a trip to see friends in Haydon Bridge...............:fingersx: for good weather!
