THR Groin pain turned the corner at 9 months

Baby steps. It sounds like things are going okay. Thinking of you and sending ((((HUGS)))).

Having a caregiver was a big help and a relief for my husband, she will be here all week. Since his heart attack last year, he cannot do everything he could, just helping with my leg was a strain on him.
He loves to cook, so he is keeping me well fed.
I’m glad you both have help. That’s great that he loves to cook, both for the food it provides, but also for him being able to contribute a big part to your recovery.
:console2:

Sounds like much better now with caregiver & your husband loves to cook. That’s a big help & load off your mind.
Continue to take it easy & I’m sure your recovery will move forward.

Glad you are feeling a little better and have some additional help organised.

Thankfully yesterday was a brighter day, likely a relief for hubby also as you the you have an attentive caregiver helping out. A shower, clean sheets and a few more steps than the day before are all wins! Even though he's still recovering from last years heart attack he's making sure you're well fed and cared for, that's some sweet devotion. I hope today is a good day! :SUNsmile:
@Pumpkin

@Pumpkin just catching up here - congratulations on the new hip! The urinary retention is pretty common after a spinal. Hope things ease for you soon. Hang in there - better days are coming!

With the holiday we had to wait to schedule getting the catheter out, we go on Friday morning, Whew!
Walking a little further and up longer, groin still sore and lets me know when I have done too much.
I have been able to decrease the pain meds a little.

The wound vac they give everyone has finally died, it is loud and obnoxious, and I am glad the battery is dead.
Tiny steps and I will get there.

Good news!
Tiny steps and I will get there.
Each one a quiet victory on the road to healing.
Slow and steady your strength will grow, day by day. :thumb:

I’m sorry it’s been such a difficult start to your recovery.

I believe it’s a Chinese proverb but the saying “every journey begins with a single step” is perfect way to approach your recovery.

You will indeed get through this one step at a time, one day at a time.

Received my new tray/computer table today. I works perfect with my laptop.

@Pumpkin, I would love to get one like this. Where did you find it? (is it Amazon?)

I purchased it on Amazon, Vaunn Medical Adjustable Tilt Overbed Bedside Table with Wheels for Hospital and Home Use.
I like the raised sides so stuff does not fly off the edges.

Heading into week two :walking:
I hope it's better than your first week post op. Please keep us posted.
A peaceful day to you, Pumpkin!
@Pumpkin

Overslept my pain meds last night and woke up to muscle spasms, not as bad as earlier spasms. contacted the surgeons office and am getting a new muscle relaxer and additional pain meds to get me to my follow up in a week. Catheter comes out tomorrow :fingersx:

Getting catheter out will be a relief I’m sure.
Those darn muscle spasms are so annoying in middle of night. I’d lay there going “ ow , ow ,ow!” Until it passed! How silly!
Well hope the muscle relaxers help.

Not a peaceful way to wake up. :sad:
Hopefully there will be more small wins following the removal of the catheter tomorrow and leading up to your post op visit in a week. Fingers crossed next week is a much more pleasant one for you. :thumb:
@Pumpkin

The catheter is out, did well with the followup voiding. Had to go back in the afternoon for an US scan of my bladder to be sure everything was working. The PA was running late so we had quite a wait until I was seen in the afternoon. It was a long exhausting day, but glad to have that behind me.
Was up and down to the commode last night while my bladder gets used to working on it's own.

The hip is slowly but surely improving, started the muscle relaxer last night seemed to help with the intermittent spasms. Finally in and out of bed independently after 10 days.
