THR Fairydell's recovery thread

Yay for home! @Fairydell
They sure fed you well while there. You'll rest better now that you're in your own space.
No unwanted interruptions.

I had my surgery at a surgery center....no kitchen. I had to order two meals a week before surgery, while I was at joint camp. I was given the choice between two restaurants (chose Panera) to order dinner for eve after surgery and breakfast the next morning for both hubs and I. Odd...but without a kitchen onsite, next best option.

I hope you have a peaceful Sunday! :friends:

Hi fellow hippies. I have managed a look at the bruising... ooh blimey my rear end is black and blue. I now understand what you mean about ice being our best friend... it's bliss. I've had an hour in bed this afternoon and done the exercises very gingerly. I'm taking a little stroll around the house every once in a while but the dead leg is a real bother. I scared myself silly coming downstairs... thank goodness Tony was right in front of me. I might set up a tray upstairs and potter about up there for a couple of days until I feel more confident with the stairs. The house is split level so perhaps there are just too many stairs for my dodgy leg at this early stage. We don't have a toilet downstairs and I am drinking gallons of water in order not to get constipated. It's a blimmin nightmare every time I need to pay a visit. Hope you all have a restful night.

So happy to hear you are home! :loveshwr:I hope your nerve issues sort themselves out quickly with your knee. Great plan staying near potty and bed. You will feel better every week. Someone here said to keep track of progress by week, rather than day. It’s helped me a lot with worry. Sending lots of prayers for quick resolution and speedy recovery. ❤️

@Fairydell
I have probably said before that I have a lot of stairs here but, even though I managed them ok when I got home, I decided to stay put in the bedroom for a couple of days. I have the ensuite there, a TV, books and a tray set out with all my meds on them.
My husband did room service too :-)
You will know when the time comes to relocate. So for now just get as cosy in the bedroom as you can.

Hmmmmm…. I hadn't planned on an update today but had dreadful crushing pains in my chest early this morning. I rang 111 for a bit of advice and they sent an ambulance to take me to our local NHS hospital. I have had a battery of tests this morning and although my heart is fine they have found a raised indicator for a blood clot in my lung... that doesn't necessarily mean that there is one though. They couldn't get me in for a scan today so as a precaution they are treating me for a clot and I have to go back tomorrow or Wednesday for a scan.... Is there anything else that can go wrong as I think I have had my fair share now... :-)

Aww, I'm so sorry @Fairydell
I understand your fears and concerns. Thankfully your heart is fine and you're under care, so try not to worry. Hopefully you'll get answers soon.
Prayers for your comfort, peace of mind and perfect healing.
Sending love and a hug. :console2:

You are just not having a fun time with this. Glad the heart is ok, hopefully it turns out to be nothing major, just one of those weird hiccups are body does. Sending hugs and healing vibes your way. :fingersx:

Oh my gosh @Fairydell you didn’t need more things to worry about. I will be watching your thread for an update Wednesday. Leaving the house doesn’t help either. Kinda exhausting. Sending love and wishes for all good news from here on out! ❤️

I'm so sorry to hear this; you need this like a hole in your bucket! I echo Layla's wishes for peace of mind as I know that is very frightening indeed. I had leg clots and a PE of the lung at the start of all my problems 5 years ago so I do know that getting those meds going is a huge step in the right direction. I am sure they told you to watch closely for any shortness of breath and/or a cough. (My cough was like a little hair deep down so the cough was fast in repetition) Make sure your husband is clear on those symptoms as well and if they occur act of the side of caution. No one will think you foolish for going in too soon!
I hope you are able to rest and sleep but if not, there will be some of us around all night to chat if you feel the need.
