THR Fairydell's recovery thread

Thinking of you @Fairydell Not sure if you are home yet or waiting for that blood pressure to rise. Wishing you a safe journey home to the comfort of your own bed. Hope you got some sleep.

First days are often a struggle...hope you are resting well and I'll be sending all the best mojo your way!:loveshwr::loveshwr::loveshwr:

You are sounding pretty good! Having a little giggle with my husband (Welsh) about those of you across the pond having your tea & biccies and then @SarahBee jumping in with "all I got was ice water". I was the same. When I did get a cup of tea with my meal, the tepid water was in a plastic mug, tea bag on the side so had to popped into the microwave. Never offered a hot drink other than by family through the day. When I was awake in the night I asked for a hot drink but was told I would have to wait for my breakfast tray which wasn't until 8am. Thankfully, hubby & son showed up with a nice coffee before that!
Hope you are getting home today. It's quite tiring getting there but feels worth it once you are!

Royal Surrey were really good about tea at regular times and the food wasn’t bad either. It did have other issues mainly to do with understaffing but the chaps who served the tea were very nice and caring.

Got to be made in a teapot.
I have to stay in one more night. They have damaged a nerve in my leg and it keeps buckling. Arthritis pain completely gone and the op pain is much less than I expected. I am worried sick about the wobbly leg though.

Sorry you have to stay another night and be dealing with your knee but It obviously sounds much safer to stay in rather than risking a fall at home. I think nerves do recover quite well so please try not to worry. If it doesn't resolve quickly all of us late March/April hippyies will form a chain gang and hold you up :loveshwr:

Hi my friend.
Damaged? Were you told that by the OS or nurses?
I was so fearful of "collateral damage" that every tremor, zip, weakness, or numbness was a stress for me.
Such disturbing of soft tissue that it is really hard to know what is going on.
Things also repair themselves if given time and proper attention.
Please try not to project this early out.
If you looked at my thread, I was anxiously questioning "is this normal? What's up with this?"
Hugs my friend

Just had a lovely smoked salmon bagel for lunch. Trying to snooze but keep getting disturbed by different medical staff... Oh to be home in my own comfortable chair. Looking forward to tomorrow. X
