Hi @MyAussieGirl

You tell Mr. Saint, I may have to remove the "S" from his name and see what's leftover if he doesn't get My Aussie Girl her sofa. Us girls gotta stick together......yeah....Girl Power!

Those are an awesome find @zauberflöte
I have some leftover from days of decorating model homes. I'd buy the cheapest frames, mattresses and box springs I could find. Didn't care to blow my budget on something no one would see or use. I'd spend money on decent bedding to make the crappy bones look good! I had to use those risers often as the bedding would be too long without. The ones I used don't touch the ones you found. Not as much depth to mine....Those seem perfect if the Saint doesn't give in to our Aussie Girl.

I am really sorry @MyAussieGirl that I brought up the sofa :boohoo: and made you think about it all over again. I do think most furnitures will deliver. My only other thought on the topic is to maybe look at some less expensive couches. If they took $100 off, maybe it was a more costly one. I know you said you didn't want a used one either. One other idea that might be quite a bit cheaper is to get a recliner. You don't need a lazy- boy as those can be pricey. They even have them on Amazon with free shipping if you have Prime. With LAbor Day around the corner, other stores like Sears, Penny's, and even Walmart might have one on sale. Some stores do deliver for free and others charge a delivery fee but much cheaper than buying a soft and you can almost lay down flat in them. Something to consider. Maybe Mr Saint would be more open to that idea since it is cheaper.

Ok - enough on that topic! Have a fantastic day and think of all the positive things like all your BS buddies, your cute little dog, etc. etc. plus your operated hip no longer hurts!! Yeah!!!

Hey.....and maybe you could talk the Saint into a recliner promising him it can be his chair once you've recovered.
You'll probably be sick of it by then anyway....viewing it as your sick bed, haha!
@MyAussieGirl

Huge hugs to ALL. :hi:

@GrannyC no problem you simply asked a normal question. I had and have no issues with it please don't worry. It's nothing I didn't already know.

EVERYONE thank you for the suggestions. I think I like taking the S off his name best. I really have thought a lot on this issue ...since we'll before my first hip. I have had 6 houses in my life and have purchased furniture before. I really know what I am doing and what I have to work with. I didn't know the cost of risers till not long ago when I asked someone on the boards. I really appreciate it but I honestly have 1 obstacle my husband. As I have been dealing with this issue since FEBRUARY I really don't want to talk about it anymore. I was just answering a question. I wasn't looking for suggestions but thanks. IF we get one I'll let you know till then please forgive me but can we please let it go. I am OK I've known hubby is still on the fence.

Moving on please.... :dancy:

Hi @MyAussieGirl
How are you doing? It's been a few days with the site update and all.....but seems longer.
I hope your tummy woes are getting better and that your hip isn't too bothersome.
Do you plan to get some :swim:in over the weekend? Summer will soon start fading fast. Well as far as swimming goes anyway. Do you feel the swimming helps your hip..... the new or the old?
Wishing you a fab weekend!

I felt so bad last night I could read your thread but not reply. I think things are mostly fixed now.... I do hope to talk about your post thought of you all AM

I am going to miss summer big time mostly the swimming and rafting. I honestly don't think the swimming helps anything but my mind and mood. Lately I just float on my raft

The other day I HAD to take ONE Percocet for my undone hip I hurt so bad I could not sleep but then...even with high fiber diet ... constipation hit. To get some sleep I used a a glycerine suppository. I am so fed up with issues. I am weary. Mostly I want more sleep.

I am going to try to post in your thread ... I worried all night

I wonder how different things would be if my sister two brothers, Mom and Dad and very dear and close in laws were alive. It would be nice to have visitors and people who worry and care about me ....listen to me. I dunno I talk to husband he doesn't really reply ... Count your blessings imagine all you've gone through and no family.

Aww @MyAussieGirl you seem to be in a bit of a funk. I'm sorry you're feeling tired and down. Ever notice that one feeds the other. We need to figure out how to break the cycle.

Swimming is calming, isn't it.....just floating, listening to the sounds of nature and hopefully not somebody's screaming child, haha! Something relaxing about just floating and trying to let everything go.....

You know the OA pain will soon be gone and I sure hope this new gastro can figure this intestinal thing out so you soon can be good as new!

I'm sorry you're missing family. I know it's no replacement for them being here in the flesh, being able to touch them, feel them, smell them but you have memories that you can visit whenever you want and no one can take those away. And if you believe as I do, and I think you do....they're with you in spirit until you meet up with them again one day. Cling to that. They aren't getting further away........They're Getting Closer!
Love ya, Aussie Girl :loveshwr:

PS Don't give Aint much thought right now......he'll come around.

Awww @MyAussieGirl it's in the water, or something! I am feeling somewhat as you are, on and off these past few days. The lack of decent sleep is HUGE to me. I am so sorry you are not getting what you need, I know exactly how that turns into an ugly spiral. I also have my own household member to drive me crazy crazy :hairpulling: It's not y husband, who is merely plugging along as best he can, playing catch-up on every front and always behind.

Would you like me to see f one of my great-nieces would like to come up to visit you? They are all experienced with taking care of people, and love dogs, and are quite nomadic, so they'd love a break. Oh wait. One of them is getting married really soon...ok scratch that, all her sisters will want to be there. I'm sorry-- it was at least half a real offer!

I agree with you about swimming being good for mind and mood. I picture you floating on that raft, soaking in the warm sun, letting the warmth comfort your hips, and the gentle rocking of the water soothe you. Love that image!

Thanks @Layla I thought I'd try to talk to hubby and started out saying nothing was his fault or mine but I am fed up with my body little sleep, diarrhea then constipation then back etc....he blew up at me... I am not so fun right now and have zero people to talk to in person ... I'm gonna be quiet on here for a bit I feel like the biggest pain in the butt.

Okay, you go rest and recharge and come back and say Hi when you feel better.
I'll be thinking of you. Prayers for some sleep tonite, no tummy woes, or achy hip
@MyAussieGirl

You do have people to talk to...us. and I hate that you feel alone and discouraged. It's chronic pain and some bad health and well-deserved anxiety over another surgery and I'm oh so sorry.
The tough women have it the worst.
I used to think those fragile bimbos who can't even tote their own groceries in the house were stupid....hey, if I become reincarnated, I will be the cutest dumbest biggest paid for enhancement most needy useless perty girl there is. They seem to get all the sympathy...not as stupid as they seem.
But seriously, it's tough always being tough. You are vulnerable right now and it's through no fault of your own. You might not can do anything to make anything any better but don't be beating yourself up either.
Sending lots of love

Sending you a greattttt bigggg HUG, MyAussieGirl! It stinks that you haven't had much beach weather but we have no control over that. Tomorrow is church and that is good. Hopefully you will soon find some friends there. It always seems to take a while. I agree with the others tha5 a good nights sleep will do wonders for how you feel. Helping others here on BS is good for each of us as well as good for the recipient. I think once this next surgery is over with, your overall health will improve because you won't have so much to worry about. :roseshwr:

Thanks everyone I will be here off and on just not saying much about me it's all the same ole ya know. I will be here for others... I can't rest really.... I try to nap never could but thanks.... I am just sitting in the guest room. I didn't want to tag anyone but read ALL of your posts and appreciate everything said and offered :thankyou:
