THR Aussie's Posterior LTHR

So so happy for you MyAussieGirl
We are on our way. I haven't had alot of time to check on my buddies this last week as I've been at work more and my father was in the hospital for a heart procedure.
I too am doing better all the time.. Still issues but tolerable and manageable.
Your sweet nature has always made me smile and you help make alot of people feel loved on this site.
Can't wait till I get to the beach.
My biggest victory has been in the sleep department here lately... So I'm not up with you night owls as much anymore.
Hope you have great holiday..

@MyAussieGirl You might also mention it at church. Often someone has something like a couch or chair they would like to part with but they don't want to throw it away. Even if it is rather worn, you can toss a blanket over it until you can get one of those slip covers at the store. If they don't have one, they may know someone who does. It can't hurt to mention it.

I'm glad you are doing so well. Are you still using your cane? I use mine if I go for a long walk. I'm doing fine. Our weather stinks as we have had LOTS and LOTS of rain since early May. This morning the sun is out though and it looks like we may actually have some rain free days this upcoming week at last. Our garden really could use some sunshine at this point.

@Mojo333 Awww what a nice post to me you had me at Sweet A lot of people don't get my sense of humor I've been told it's dry. I am touched by your thoughts on me thank you!!! I have been following your thread and agree we are on our way :dancy::dancy:. Us if we ever meet..... I am jealous a little of your sleep but am sleeping about as well as I ever did..... I never have slept well. Maybe as a kid. I feel for you on dad and am glad you have one another. I told my husband today again I'd like to go swimming...every other year we are there daily ....he fears I'm not ready. I am like my doctor's say I am....we shall see .

@GrannyC . Gives you flower from my flower garden. Rain ...sigh here we need some of that. Everywhere around us even closer in state have had rain. My area lots of sun
..
I love that.. little rain.

On church I have been dragging my behind on asking Bill at church who loves me as a daughter if I could pay him something for one of those easy chairs that stand you up. .. I'm not sure I will ask but see his DIL told me he still had Dottie's she was his wife and my friend she passed away last year. If I didn't have a scratch demonic cat I'd just ask to borrow it. Now hubby's riding mower broke one time too many so maybe if he charges THAT he will get me a higher sofa...stay tuned and thank you you always have good ideas.

On the cane yes I use it maybe 40 per cent of the time. Mostly to be a little easier on my unoperated side but both can get sore.... I forgot it a lot today but by night's end seek it out...... I may use it off and on for a long time :old:

@cpollock I am a work in progress bear with me .... I missed your post but just saw it. Aww older cats are the best they are so mellow... I had 4 at one time and a dog. My other cats made it very close to 20. I now have a 7 year old cat and my dog he is new to us only here about 4 months.
Some incision pain is or was per my surgeon normal... I had and still do like a burning feeling too. Always ask your surgeon's office what's normal. I have STILL available to me my surgeon, Physicians Assistant and the nurse case manager's CELL phone to use ANY time of night. They are lucky I don't drink. If you can't reach your doctor by cell I am sure they have a way to be reached if you're REALLY worried on something.

Yes my next surgery seems right around the corner I hope he will be able to do my at my local hospital

I do not work outside the home. I'd say I'm retired but I don't get to as a housewife

@MyAussieGirl I have access to a nurse who runs the hip and knee clinic at the hospital. Mirna is her name and I've called her on a couple issues during my first week. I see her tomorrow, she's going to come down to physio and remove my staples. My physio is right at the hospital and my husband already said he will grab a wheelchair to take me part ways so I don't have to walk the whole ways. It's a pretty long walk but we will see. Have you been doing all the assigned physio given to You? I have 2 lift chairs, if you were close to me I'd lend you one. The one I use my husband built a platform for me it a little higher. It's made out of 2 x 4s. Could someone make a platform to raise a chair or something for You? I hope you're having a good day. Cheryl

@MyAussieGirl I just want to clarify that I didn't mean for you to ask someone at church for a couch or chair. I only meant to let them know you are watching for one at a really good price since it would be good to have before you have your next surgery and ask them to let you know if they see one somewhere. I thought of you yesterday when we stopped at an Estate Sale and they had two couches!!

Thank you for the flower! You are a sweetie and I hope you are having a fantastic day!!

Everybody I will catch up with you later ... I am on quick while hubby is out of the car..... I graduated from PT she is amazed by how strong and well my operated by hip is she said only thing holding me up is.......the hip that still needs surgery .....done Yay I am done!!!! I will miss her though . I liked her and she did lots of testing on strength and range of motion so....hehe done .

@GrannyC I like that and will do it even asking my Pastor maybe be I can put the need in my church bulletin but not asking free I like how you said it. I will ask Gail .. Bills daughter in law she's the one who mentioned it weeks back. I may ask her if he is looking to sell it cheap....lol but... hubby just put a new riding mower on credit so we may look for a higher sofa . I like sofa's better as I lay watching TV

BTW last night we got tons of rain. Garden is good to go for a few now.

@cpollock aww thank you. I would not borrow the chair only because my dog would dump fur in it and my cat would make shredded wheat outta it then I would lose you as a friend..not worth that my bone board buddy. My husband could make a lift for the chair or sofa but we have a sports car and they do not cut the wood at stores. We could have done it today when hubby charged a riding mower ours is dead it's almost 15 years and he has fixed it so many times but he couldn't this time ... I will get new or as GrannyC suggested ask around on garage sales and estate sales at church. I have a few good Church friends so that's a great idea too...though new....

On PT I was approved by BCBS for 90 visits a um bit much at $45.00 for me to pay so I went twice week one that was 4 weeks after surgery. I then cut to every 2 weeks cause of the bills and my PT said from day one I was pretty strong. I am. I will explain that at the end. Then I saw her again maybe 2 more times. At that time my FIL was put in a rehab/nursing home and we knew time was short so I took a month off between his being I'll visits, then his passing away and funeral I couldn't keep up. I went today and she re_tested me range of motion, walking, getting up and down from a chair ... I even though I didn't do any abductor exercises blew through them all. I passed because I don't need to strengthen that leg. Don't base your PT on mine I have a lot of muscle. I have kick boxed for maybe 18 years . Thus, I built up a lot of muscle and strength. The last few years though I could not side kick high anymore...bad hips... I still practiced what I could do for an hour a day. Much of what one does isn't just leaping in the air and kicking but working on muscles. I kept up and am glad now.

So strange what we learn about each other incidentally while we are leaning on one another and being sympathetic.
MyAussieGirl the KICKBOXER!!!
How cool is that?
No wonder your sweetie is so good to you... He doesn't want you to kick him to the Moon.
Did you complete.. I'm guessing you did... You don't kickbox by yourself.
And I was imagining you sweet and demure and mellow.
Bet you had some spunk!!!

@MyAussieGirl from what you said about your cat and dog, I don't think you should worry about getting new. The used works just fine and then you don't feel so bad when the cat scratches it up!!

Great job on the PT! Way to go! You will be back kickboxing in no time once you get that other hip fixed.

@Mojo333 lol nooooo I am no way as glamorous as you think I am. I am so not competitive. I was the youngest of 4 kids. I learned early to be chill, but sneaky. My brothers were 14 and 12 years older than Me and I couldn't beat them at many games and such as a kid. My sister and I were best friends but she was 6 years older and prettier we use to argue over who was prettier. She's been in Heaven many years now and can't argue it but she was. I was a very overweight kid. Was what they now called bullied. I learned to complete with myself. I always tried to improve on just ME. I started with lap swimming till I could swim over an hour straight. Years later I started kickboxing for my health, muscle use more energy that just being thin. So I did both I lost weight and lowered by blood sugars with kickboxing. I did mostly do it myself.
I am however very outgoing and make friends in person easy. I am not however a um brown nose.
Spunky yes mostly in Highschool I was often in trouble. I was kicked out of school for a semester but graduated on time with top honors.
I hate to type lol so you'd never know I hold 2 College degrees with high honors. Not one of my siblings could touch my grades. I have been called a scrapper by people who vex me.
I am a simple housewife now lol

@GrannyC lol so not going to pass up any chance I have of a new sofa or chair. New or gently used well yes I am going for it. You make sense but I won't feel bad.

I am not sure if I will go back to kickboxing but it is certainly something I asked on and my OS did say I could when both hips were in.
I am thinking of taking it easy on these hip joints and going back to swimming and much walking. Though I detest winter walking out of doors.

@cpollock aww lol you're another one giving me much too much credit. I just like to be healthy and that's why I kickboxed. I never compete. I do have a lot of muscle in my arms and legs. I learned how to balance better due to it too. I just like it.

I am tired right now had a bad night's sleep and did a lot later that turned my day around. You? I am going to look in on you after a fast post.

Fast post I am tired. I got my first day in at the beach :wowspring:I walked up and down hills in the park. I spent an hour in the lake mostly kicking my legs. I had trouble nicely leaving the water due to a very nice man I met. I am sure we will become beach buddies. He too is a dog and cat lover. I worked 11 years in canine rescue.

Then I got chills. My non operated hip hurts but it was a nice day :loveshwr:
