@MyAussieGirl that is tough to deal with the loss of your favorite dog. Some are more special in ways that touch our hearts deeply. It's not dopey at all. Hugs. Cheryl
@MyAussieGirl sending special thoughts and a big hug your way today. I think you'd be surprised how many people have gone through this same thing. Loosing one of our special pets is about the same as loosing a very good friend and we sure do miss them! I hope you find something fun to do today to keep you busy. Take care!
Hi I have not had time to read your thread but your last post struck a chord. So sorry you lost your special friend. Don't feel dopey. I lost my cat about 6 years ago now - it was two days after Christmas and I still miss him and get emotional. He was a lovely black boy with a white bib and socks. Sending you big hugs.
@MyAussieGirl After thinking about it, on a day you feel a bit down, that is the day you should be on here so we can support you. Plus you can pitch in and help others that need encouragement. That would surely help you feel a bit better, too. Just a thought to think about next time you feel a bit sad. Sending you a great big hug!!
Thank you all for getting it and understanding ... I feel less alone. I am sorry for your lost too I thought it would be easier by now but it's not much.
Add to this I ended up at Urgent Care I had really really bad diarrhea and just was ...well...am unwell....Right now they think it's either a virus , like a bug from food that was bad or too much fiber. Nothing could prove anything...so it's 3 days of an antibiotic for travelers tummy ...off the stool softeners ....glad to this is murder and a probiotic....in 48 hrs if not much better start anti diarrhea meds....a couple days...if that fails follow up with my primary care physician ....grrr what a mess and I am not prepared for a bland diet
My apologies for not being here I really feel sick on top of sad on my dog ...But I get your point GrannyC I honestly could not and just got sick again...
@MyAussieGirl I am so sorry you got so sick! That really stinks! But it is a good sign that you slept so well last night. That was just what your body needed. Just hang in there and follow what they told you to do and I'm sure this, too, will pass and you will be fine. You just need to take it easy for a couple days. Post to give us an update when you feel up to it. Sending healing thoughts and a big hug your way....
@MyAussieGirl I'm sorry you are sick. It seems one thing after another lately and it will give soon I'm sure. If you're upset or stressed our bodies react too. You need some TLC. It will get better. I wish you well. Cheryl
Help on page 18 I tagged you I may be doing it wrong but I am wanting to get off the 1 Percocet 10 mg tab I am on at night....how fast can I go if I go to half a tab say a few days then every other day for 3-4 days then every 3 days twice than off???? Will I have withdrawal?? The PA gave me conflicting information this is one of them ....help Please
@Irish Joe can you help my tags please...thank you all
Your tags are working fine. Just please don't keep starting your post with them as it's against the rules!
First of all, don't panic about it!
Secondly, are you still in any pain? If you are then you need something to tide you over
Thirdly, you should look in our Forum Library from time to time! We have this article in there Weaning off pain medication
Thank you @Josephine I am sorry I may have well must have forgotten on not starting threads with tags, my sincere apologies. I am in very little pain maybe a 2 to 3 on days of too much but my non-operated on hip is VERY sore. My guess is because it is carrying part of the load without help.
I am in a panic to be honest it scares me to maybe face withdrawal. I have seen the area in the library and read it but it didn't fit my particular issue. That is I am at the end of the wean off... I take just one at night... I will read it again to be sure but sure would value your input on my situation. Thank you.
It may help to know I do have Tylenol 3 as needed I take 1 but can go to 3.
Again thanks I'll be reading and looking for your reply
Edited to add your article end at 1 pill...where do people go from there like me please?
Oh my goodness MyAussieGirl, I don't know if your tags were working or if my alerts are not right but I just saw your posts from Tuesday on... Feel terrible about your health concerns and the fact you lost your pet.
My Shihtsu will be 14 this fall and I think about how old he is and that he won't be here with me forever and it truly makes me sad for you having to deal with that and being sick.
I hate that I haven't seen the posts.
GrannyC is right though. Your cheery whimsical posts always make us smile and the newbies need your advice and comfort. So when you have time and feel you are up to it... Keep contributing.
Sometimes the best way to get out of our own troubles is by giving.
Please know you are loved.
Thank you @Mojo333 what a sweet post
My lab was just over 12 very much missed. Smaller dogs live longer so prayers your furbaby lives long long long. My tags don't always seem to work and I'm not sure why. It's frustrating. I am trying hon and have lots on my plate I don't post .
Huge hugs .. I am thinking I've posted to you in not just my thread but yours too. Not sure what all is seem.
@MyAussieGirl...I am so so sorry about your beloved pet:((((...they are our family and such wonderful companions...I had a little shitzu Gizmo...he was 13 I put him down a few years ago...very hard..I am not getting another pet...I am so sorry to read about you being sick....that is horrible on top of your loss...with the loss maybe your body was a bit rundown & stressed..ughhb....we have to try and stay healthy...I tell everyone who calls to visit if you are sick don't come!!! Be careful about cutting pills...esp pain meds...some times if you cut them...the med comes out too fast at one time and is not good...they are not meant to cut...this is why there are different dosages...weaning off is prob better...it is better for the virus to come out via the diarrhea then to stop it in the beginning...drink a lot stay hydrated and every morning I do drink a cup of Gatorade to make sure my electrolytes are in order...I had taken a pro biotic daily pre surgery and i think I will start up again...I keep forgetting...also they want me on vitamin C helps with healing of tissue...I hope you are feeling better and prayers to you on the loss of your beloved dog...
Thank you @Donnarita I can't do Gatorade I am diabetic. But everything else you said agreed ...My pills are not time released but I still am hoping the nurse here Josephine sees the last more specific questions.
I did let it run per the urgent Care doctor but today if it hits he said take like Kaeopectate for a few days then follow up with my primary doctor. I am now on probiotics too
I am sorry about your furbaby too... I thought at a year past it would hurt less but it doesn't. Big hugs to you.
I had to have my feline buddy Jerry PTS a day after I got home from my RTHR. Made the recovery that much more painful. I have new feline friends now but still have the pain of that final time with my friend.
Aww Jaycey that's horrible and so sad. I am so sorry I swear no matter how much we may love new pets I found it's not the same as that one special one . Huge Hugs
