Don't forget begins with a b, ends with a d, but the forum changed the word to messed!

Okay.... my seven yr old has .....skipping ropes and I'm just not seven any more. Lol. I just hope no neighbours saw me buckle as I jumped and then hobble.... then half skip on one leg. Pmsl...... I have also added to my pet collection. Now have two cockatiels. .. as well as a kakariki parrot and a dog the size of a shetland pony. One of the tiels is in love with the dog, it does a sexy dance and lands on him. Sam is terrified.

Just the thought of skipping, ooh wow that's brilliant, not 7 I know but we can dream, I'm knackered just thinking about it!! Do you have lots of room for all your pets, I thought Henry was big but a pony sized dog would be humoungus!! I can just imagine the bird dancing the 'dance of the 7 veils' and your poor dog running a mile to get away from it!!! :heehee:

Aw jump rope-ing. That was my very favorite playground and home game for a couple of years. Us girls got really good at the two-rope "long" version. Ahhhhh memories....
Hee hee hee.... gubbed...knackered. ..shattered....zonked. lol. Okaaaaay ....exhausted. lolol
you posted that the day of y surgery. Every word of your post was true of me, but I was also three sheets to the wind but not with alcohol LOL
Don't forget begins with a b, ends with a d, but the forum changed the word to messed!
would that sort of rhyme with the past tense of (even tho it's not a verb but a baseball noun) slugger?
Audball other than sitting on the floor, how's work going? And have you hired a man to muck the stalls yet? It sounds like you need it......

Audball zauberflöte Ok what long rope skipping rhymes can you remember? '1, 2, 3, mother caught a flea, put it in the teapot to make a cup of tea, flea jumped out, mother gave a shout and in ran the 'bobby' with his shirt hanging out'...............and 'granny in the kitchen doin a bit of stitchin in comes (name of next in the line) and knocks her out'! :dancy: manic skipping??

Littlejem oh my gosh what memories! I can't remember any, the game we played most of required intense counting which if you blew the count you lost your turn, and i don't think we had any rhymes with that. Most likely, I have just forgotten the words-- LOL leaky brain syndrome. (But ask me about basketball cheers from jr high!) Did you do any double rope work? it's not nearly as hard as it looks. I'd love to get back to that-- wonder if it counts as too much like running and would wear out the hip too fast.
We played in my back yard, and tied one end of the rope to an old plum tree that had been cut down at about 7 feet high. There was a no-grass zone all around, and my daddy was the good daddy and didn't make a fuss about it like the other daddies. And a ditch or pothole right where we landed.
Ok! We had homemade stilts, too! Anybody else?

No zauberflöte no double rope skipping when I was a school, we'd never heard of it then!! I bet skipping would be really good exercise although whether it'd be good for the hip is another matter!!

Okaaaay. Does any of your new hips do a grinding feeling when you lean forward? My knee is also struggling a bit. My asthma is playing up so doc stopped arcoxia, and I stopped the morphine a fortnight ago. Now I'm terrified that my other joints will stop playing. Ach phewey. I hate being broken. I want a new body, in good shape with great teeth. Lolol...... not asking much.

awwwww Audball I have no idea. But I can relate to the asthma...here, I will entertain you with domestic ongoings... an hour ago my 12 yr old cat caught a bird. Evidently she's not too hungry, OR one of the younger ones is hounding her, because I just saw her out the window with it still in her mouth. I can track her progress around the yard by the uproar in the bird community.
There! Did that entertain you for even 5 seconds? I wish I could give you all new everything.... :)

Chris I would have ran out to try saving it. Lol. Baby bird flew into my kitchen last week and I helped it back to its mummy. ..... my mums cats used to bring small animals home but the last cat tried to drag a pidgeon through the catflap..... just wasn't happening! .

When Alex was a young cat, I once saw him following some small animal around outside. I went out to look and it was a young robin, not quite old enough to fly. It was hopping around and stopping every minute or so to call for Mama Robin. Then Alex would knock it over with his paw, trying to figure out what sort of toy this was. I chased him away from the poor bird, but he went right back to it. So I turned the hose on him.

zauberflöte, alexthecat and Audball, that reminds me of the funniest thing I ever saw. One of my girls had a collie who had the run of the farm and we had just gotten some baby chicks. Some of the chicks got out and my daughter saw her collie snap one up. She yelled at him to drop it, he opened his mouth and the chick hopped out, no worse for wear. I about died laughing (while I rescued the chick and put it in a more secure pen of course!).

Audball it's no use rescuing the bird-- if the cat's teeth or claws went through the skin, the bird will be dead in 3-5 days anyway, of infection. I'd try to get them from my fat cats just to keep them on their diets...but have wrestled a mole away from one cat, breaking his tooth (the cat) in the process, I'm afraid. So I don't go for that too much any more.
sqwerlie that is the BEST soft-mouth dog story! I heard another one about somebody's dumb Lab-- the dog was seen sitting with a goofy grin on its face and perhaps something in its mouth, as it wasn't panting. Owner says "Drop it", the dog opens its mouth and out flutters a butterfly!!!!! now that's a soft mouth!
alexthecat oh I hate baby bird season, for that very reason. I didn't know this till recently, but many songbirds do not fledge straight from the nest-- they learn to fly by the parents coaxing them along the ground with food! So here's all these babies out all night cos they can't fly, and there's my cats, the neighbors' cats, the raccoons, foxes and possums, just too much... :(

zauberflöte, yeah he was good for the soft mouth. He used to consider his duty to move the new kittens every spring to a safer spot, which the mama cats never appreciated. I would notice the dog carrying a kitten to the garage in his mouth and later notice the mama carrying the kitten back to her spot. It was kind of amusing!

sqwerlie I've never had a dog, but when I was a kid, we had a Siamese queen whom we bred once. She was a very young mother, and my parents had NOT a clue how to deal with her. She got paranoid and eventually moved the 4 kittens to behind the master bathtub, which my father had open as he was working on the bathroom. They starved her out. She then took the kittens to the (open) dryer but my mother caught that before it turned awful. Poor thing, then we moved-- so we had a cardboard box full of a Siamese family squalling its way back and forth between (google map it) Waynesboro, Va and Cass, WV every weekend. Not via I-64, either. Probably 6 weekends before we sold the kittens, WHEW! No wonder we were all tetchy for months!

Last night I let the cockatiels out for a while. One only comes out for the dog and the other follows!.... anyway, bird went to land on Sams head just as he got a fright and snapped at the air. Bird head and bit body in his mouth and the dog stopped mid snap. Don't know how he never munched it. Lolol
