Audball Today was our Mother's Day in the US - do you call it Mothering Sunday across the pond? Well, Happy Belated Mothering Sunday to you. Hope all is well.
 
Hello everybody. Not had a chance to get on. Occupational health are getting me a new chair for work. If it ever happens, I'll be in shock.x
 
Audball That's ok if you don't have time, hon. You're a busy beaver, with the kids and the grandkids and the job and the painting and the climbing on roofs (that was you, wasn't it??)... At least you're being productive, unlike me, sitting around with ice most of the time! Enjoy yourself. :)
 
Ha ha. Trip was fun. My four yr old had me spinning around in a boat. Lol. And was on a big bouncy mat thingy. Great fun, paying for it now. I'm gubbed.
 
Hey Aud, great to hear that you are gadding about having fun with the bairn......that's what it's all about......fab stuff :happydance:

How is work going? Any sign of your new special chair yet?
 
Aud, what is gubbed? Does it mean sitting back and having a few glasses of wine? My 34-year-old daughter (no husband/kids yet.) took me for a shopping day of fun across the border. We were gone for 12 hours! It was great to spend time with her, she's wonderful. But I believe I was also gubbed when I got home, plus I had the wine. As an ex-pat I am embarrassed that I don't know that word....
 
Vida don't we know by now that Audball has her own vocabulary, just like she has her own "restrictions", which include all those early escapades and now bouncing on a moon walk????
Aud, I am SO glad you're having fun and getting around to things. I too hope that special chair comes very soon for you.
So..... I can guess what "gubbed" means, but where on earth did it come from, anybody know? I love love love words :)

How can we translate those words into american-- pooped? not strong enough. Wiped out? Not colorful enough. Beat? Naaaahhhh. Help?? :)

Okay, so knackered means tuckered out, or knocked out, or burnt out, or done in. Fatigued if you're high brow, dyin' if you're lower brow, drained if you're medium brow, and tired if you're just plain ole' knackered!! :rotfl:
 
I miss when my kids were little. Zoos, playgrounds. I need grand kids? :wink:
