Worked all weekend..... then slept in for kids going to school!.... ooooooops

Audball I'm a bit easy on the school issue here. After all, they're just kids. It's not as if they have a big job to go to. They're little, and you had every reason to sleep in. Just the fact that you're back to work and taking care of your kids is remarkable to me. But then again, I'm not the principal or the teacher. (Maybe that's a good thing because if I were, I wouldn't give hardly any homework! I think they need to play and unwind after a day at school.)

ByGosh AMEN to playing after school! But there are times and places.... my son's gf teaches 3rd grade in a low income area, where most of the kids go home to empty houses and are not allowed outside, even if it were safe to GO outside, if you get the picture. So playing after school is reserved for the suburban and rural kids...
Here I live in a neighborhood that's safe as houses, and the three little kids across the street live inside, all the shades drawn all the time, they only play outside about 2 times a month, poor little mushrooms! I don't understand it. I'm just hoping that at after-school-care they have a long long recess before having to do homework.

Chris that's horrible, but so much badness in the world, you get scared to let them out. My youngest 2 go outside in all weather, although I draw the line at Amber going into the snow in bare feet! Lol.
Worked yesterday, then today took kids to school and got sidetracked. Ended up bying curtains for kids room and stuff for my pets. Lol. Then slept from 1 til 7. My husband doesn't understand why I'm so exhausted. Well duuuur.. if it was him, I would leave him to rest, but he nags you to get up!

Audball You're quite the busy little bee, aren't you? Hubby needs you to take of things around there, that's why he gets you up. Nobody can do it quite like Mom. Sounds like you got a houseful and for a man, that can be a handful too much, if you know what I mean. (No offense, gents.) Although I must say, they do their fair share in lots of other ways.

Ok..... got the painting done and put up curtains in kids room and fitted a venetian blind in the hall window.... now lying vegetating in the bath. Lol

Audball WOW! That's how it's done when you're young, huh? Busy day, you accomplished alot. You deserve to soak in the tub! Even a back rub maybe, or at least a foot rub!

Bygosh I let my granddaughter stay last night and they were giggling and carrying on til late, then this morning they were up since about seven.... now I'm knackered. Lol

My husband is the same way! Just when I show that I'm getting my energy back he thinks all is back to 'normal'. He doesn't understand the 2 steps forward and 1 step back of this recovery.

Audball Now I'm a bit curious --you have young ones and grandchildren? I guess that means you've been a Mom for a long time. And still going strong, I'd say.
Those kids can get themselves pretty riled up with a sleep over. My teenager comes home from them, looking like a zombie, sleeps most of the day, and still can't get up for school the next Monday. It never ends, does it? Kids are kids, even when they're older. As long as there's Mom around, they're a kid.

Teacat Yes, those hubbys are anxious to have us back in the saddle as soon as is possible, aren't they? Poor dears, can't understand how you can feel pretty good one day, and knackered the next, as Audball would say.

Bygosh my daughter is 23 and has a 5yr old and 10 mnth old... but my youngest is 4. Lol

Audball You were a young Mom, weren't you? And you have a large age span between the two. I didn't have my first until the ripe old age of 35! I was busy, and didn't marry til 30's. Then another one @42 and another @43! (So be careful -- you never know)
I bet those little ones are adorable! 10 mos, 4 and 5. The 4 and 5 year old must be little playmates, and one's an auntie to the other. They'll grow up close little buddies, I bet!

Hi Aud, just popped in to see how you are getting on, crikey you have been busy haven't you, I don't know where you get your energy from, it's quite amazing. You are certainly making the most of that new hip of yours....well done

Nobody in this house dares to wake me when I am having a cheeky snooze They know it's not worth having to put up with the face on me cos I have been disturbed.lol.
