Audball, I just find the idea of haggis hysterical. The first time I heard about it I couldn't believe it. Another kind of food that gets an incredulous reaction in the states is Marmite (England, not Scotland, I believe). It is good to hear from you again -- I have missed you! Hope all is well.

Audball... What about Vegemite.. Used to be an iconic Aussie brand until it got bought out by an O/S comp..

Actually, I never liked Vegemite even when it was an Aussie Company... Too salty Audball

There are 2 camps on marmite and you either love it or hate it and I hate it!! I do love Haggis though, especially with neaps and tatties, although I don't know if I've spelt that right!! My youngest went to Stirling Uni and I had my first try of haggis on a visit up there to see her. :)

neaps and tatties,
I love neaps and tatties. I don't mind haggis. Ive only had it the once though. Hate marmite. Yuk. My husband loves it . Ive never tried vegemite. My husband has fried scotch pancakes and black pudding if we ever do a cooked breakfast. :eeeuw:

I love black pudding, fried in a good old fryup, yum!!

OK, so what are all these foods? I've seen "haggis" in books, but have no idea what it is. Never heard of any of the other foods mentioned. What are they??

I just looked up what haggis is and there's no way I would eat that. Do you buy that ready to cook? I can't see that for dinner in anyone's home. I also looked up the marmite that would be another no for me.

Audball Sorry to hear about your fall and hand injury I hope you soon recover.I managed to crack a bone in my little toe a week gone Friday when I whacked it into the bed post. The bruising is all over the foot.I must remember to wear slippers instead of bare feet.
