Ask your doctor for a copy. Many clinics have digital images now and will provide you with a disk. You can then copy the files onto your computer to post them.

Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!

okay thanks, I will call on monday to ask ahead of time
the pain I had on friday off and on seemed so familiar - just new location, I know the pain from my ACL surgery and where that one screw was was just achy and pounding from time to time, it was just 'LIFE"
I honestly expected to have this pain with my TKR and had not until Friday, it was just surprising that I had not had it until then, I figured it was all part of healing at some level.

Josephine - which view would you like to see! I have many now :wink1:

the first would be prior to my LTKR (about a year prior)
but I have all my films so I can post others.
My pre-op appt went well today, I'm anxious to get on with things.

Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!

 I asked to see the xrays? I know I often do but I couldn't find such a post of mine in here to remind me why.

Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!

lol me either lol but it was in response to this post
its all good, I don't think it is anything that is not normal I'm pretty sure it is normal healing. and that from time to time it is over worked as the right knee is (awaiting tkr) very sore, so I do a lot of 'shift weight to left hip sanding" at work.
WEIRD day
for the YEARS after my ACL reconstruction in 1988 pretty much off an on all these years since I had reoccurring what I attributed to deep bone pain where I had a screw in my tibia. It was breath catching deep profound pain, it would pulse or pound then with no real reason go away.
Well today for the first time I experienced this type of pain related to my TKR. To be honest it was very surprising! I hope I'm done with this little flare up for now! this is the first time my TKR has really given my any issues in months and months.

Josephine You have an xray of your knew knee you can post for me?

Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!

Well this is it, I leave for the Hospital in about 45 min, I had to argue? well maybe convince that anesthesiologist on the phone last night that Morphine does not agree with me! He kept telling me that it is so great for the pain and the spinal and and morphine will last like 18 hours, I said I KNOW it was 18 hrs of hell for my last surgery - at that point I needed to inform him that this was my 2nd knee replacement and I had walked this road just 8 months ago.
he was trying to suggest to me that it will be difficult to manage my pain w/o the protocol I went though last time! (however, my my doc has said they are doing more with injections right in the knee during surgery for pain managment. SO we shall see.....) I also the reminded the anesthesiologist how difficult it has been to get my IV in and that was also a concern to me. So he told me I could clear "drink" fluids into this morning supposed to cut off here at 7am.
SO..... I'm excited and anxious.
I will post when I can! pretty much I know enough to just want this OVER WITH.....
see you all soon!

Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!

I am still doing really well and my first 2 nurses have been awesome. I can tell that my nerve block is starting to wear off when I told my nurse she said well let's get the next meds on board!
Since I have been in my room they started toradol?? So when I told the nurse I wa feeling some pounding pain on my joint line she looked up what med the doc has planned for me
Dilaudid , it is the first time I have taken this drug ... So far so good and my pain has already has gone back down to a 2-3! And I do not feel sick. big plus!
I am not sleeping well but oh well, a friend is letting me use her ipad and I'm watching MASH on tv land!
Wish I could sleep but at least I am NOT in pain!

Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!

Re: Another small step forwad to reclaiming my life!

Catherine,
I'm glad to see that you are feeling so well. I, too, felt great after surgery. I thought that the femoral nerve blocks were great, and was sad to see them go, but the pain remained manageable. I'm so glad to hear you sound so chipper. :)
