Hi Laura

Ditto Jamie's comments. We have so much to look forward to, you have been through so much it must feel like baby steps to you - but that is ok, if you get there in the end..

Hang in there, lots of love and prayers xxx

Hi All,
Yesterday I celebrated 12 Weeks Post Op/Revision (x4):)

I went to the Gym and had good solid/steady workout.

Stiff, Sore but not as bad. 3 months is really not a Big Picture, is it?
I ponder the Range of Motion issue, but...I CAN get my legs apart!
Without pain or push.

Hopeful, and prayerful for all of you Experiencing a new Body part!
Peace!
Laura P

Still early days Laura. Slow and steady. Don't push too hard or you will set your recovery back. That ROM will come but for some it does take awhile!

Thank You Jaycey,
I slept most of this Weekend away...
Still so tired.
I do know I slept for 6 months last Hip replacement:)

Patience, not a Virtue I seem to Understand:sigh:

THANKS SO MUCH!
Laura

*waves hello*

Hi Laura,

So glad to hear about your 12 weeks post op milestone!

You've been through so much and it's got to feel really good to be this far along.

:thumb:

I'm back to work full time tomorrow and know for sure I'll be dealing with the whole exhaustion issue; I'll just have to get lots and lots of

(((hugs)))

Gidday Laura from OZ, Hehehehe!!

Congrats on the 12 week milestone, every week counts and you have done so well.. Sleep is good honey, get it when you can, your body still has a long way to go with the healing process, especially with what you have been through... Chat soon, lots of love, Sandy xx

Hey All!
Snowed about 3 feet today...Crazy! Wetter cold = more pain:)

Just have again resigned myself to the fact that Things Take Time!

I will get there when I get there. Cross country coach asked me to help out with the kids...I said Nope, no can do yet.
I miss Yoga!
But I waited a Solid Year after my last Hip Replacement. It was a smart thing I believe, as I have been Searching for Info on web from Yoga teachers...

Life is as Good as I allow it to be, I suppose!

Hi there Laura

The weather must be a bit of a downer for you, but you are progressing so well - I have been thinking about you all week and started to write then got distracted by that activity called work.. !!!! definitely on my to do list :)

Sending you lots of love and warm huggies xxx
Sandy

Hi Laura,

3 feet of snow....WOW that's serious stuff! Congratulations on hitting your 12 week mark. With all that snow I would be doing the same thing all snuggled up and sleeping the weekend away, I do that with no snow! Some weeks are long with work so it's nice to rest up.

Stay warm and safe out there!

xxooxx

Hi Laura, I just love this statement of yours, so true..

Thinking of you xx

Hey Laura, just checking in with you again?

Big warm hugs xx

Hi All...

Yep, Winter is kind of slow...
I am kind of Slow...Still slow & Sore.

Now I do know, from first THR, that it took a year to get back
to 'Normal'...Whatever that is?:)

I found a great whirlpool at the Gym where I go near work.
It helped with all the tight muscles; back, feet, legs, pretty much ALL:)

14 Weeks PostOp...(PostOp, PostOP,) etc.
Slept a LOT this weekend.
I need to...So I don't have much Guilt about it.

Brain still foggy but a bit better. Less mispronouncing of Words!

Hope you all are well and progressing!!
Yay!
Hi Sandy & Sarah, thanks for checking in!

Laura

Hi Laura,

Sounds like you are doing well and doing exactly what you need to be doing for your recovery. I feel slow with this 2nd hip but the more I just give in to it the better. Some days I still feel out of sorts and other days better than ever. Hang in there, rest, rest and more rest if needed, remember the tortoise not the hare won the race!

Hi Laura, that whirlpool sounds fantastic, and I am so pleased you are not feeling so guilty about sleeping on the weekend.

I can so totally relate to the extreme energy drain that working a full day has on us and the feeling of brain fog...

I am sure this will all improve, we are still young babies in our journeys, lots of love and hugs, Sandy

Thank you OZ:)
Yes, 2012 is a welcomed Event!

My Surgeon feels that both my Hips were dislocated at birth, and pushed back in...Hence the need for both hips replaced, and the bowed look of my hips in the X-rays. Joints sort of floated on top of the socket, as opposed to fitting into them...

Just Curious to know if others have this issue. Pain started with me around 15 years ago, roughly around age 35.
Guess I will continue on this Thread...?
I can remember my joints hurting since I was a child. My L hip almost always ached when I got tired. I was a heavy kid and that didn't help I'm sure. Also, I was never able to throw anything with any force. I always did and still do have small shoulders. Whenever I tried to throw something hard. my shoulder would hurt.

Hi All!
Thank you for checking in on me...I have been slammed at Work, which is good but also draining (emotionally mostly)....Lots of needs, but it is my J-o-b:)

15 Weeks Post-Op Revision...Got my first wave of bills OMG
Hospital is going to work with me...Thank God!

Yesterday, SO TIRED, SO SORE....
Normal?
'Feels like', I am Healing from the Inside?
Does this make Sense?

Gosh, I 'should' know better, from the First Hip replacement 2.5 years ago...It took me a Solid year. At least.

My mind is still very very foggy. I have Zero short-term memory recall.
I did have several sedations and anesthesia during 3 week period ...

Hope I'm not Whining too much!
Thank you Hippie supporters for your help!
Laura

Hey Laura,

Great to hear from you and NO you don't sound like your whining! You always sound good!

Your always busy this probably adds to being tired and sore! You amazed me when you first jumped on the airplane as quick as you did after your surgery.

Sorry about hospital bills!

short memory I have that I put it down to my selective memory now with age etc hehehehehehe!

Be good to yourself and relax when you can!

xxooxx

Hope you can get some rest Laura. Sounds like you are doing a bit too much. But I know work can be demand. Rest when you can!

Don't worry about having a groan here - that's what BoneSmart is all about!

Hi there Thank you for the Constant cheering on!

Yes, Jaycey, I feel like I am doing Too Much.
I get so tired, still. I am sore all over.

I know that 4 Months, for me last hip replacement, was enough time to feel better. I recall that it took a Solid Year....
PATIENCE...:) :loll:

I just keep moving! One Day at at Time!
