Revision THR 6 Weeks post-Op with Locking Ring due to Dislocation

Yes I have now had 2 weeks off. Getting my Nest re-organized. Went to office today. It's gonna be so much better. I will have help for paperwork, managed care. I will get to do my thing and not be so caught up in paperwork. It just feels right.
You know, I can't help but sort of wonder....It maybe took this false alarm to get me to slow down. Come back home. Sort of like a warning/wake-up call. Those long flights and bouncing around from car to plane to train. It's hard on me with 2 THRs.
I am Grateful, today.

Thanks again, you ALL, for being here. It kept my Sanity in tact, yet again!
Laura

I am so happy for you @LPLaura - love the fact that it has turned out so good for you xx

Poppet....How you feeling? Let me know! Hope you are enjoying the fact that GREAT future is ahead of you this year! :)
LOVE, Laura

Love how positive you sound, Laura. All power to you, girl!

Thank You Jo. And thank you for supporting me through the time of Trial.
The many many selfless hours you all Monitor and help us...It means so much.
I thank you all.

I wonder, strange question but anyway, anyone had emotional ups and downs taking Meloxicam? It is an anti-inflamatory.
Maybe I have just returned to an Ice storm in GA, with wicked wet Cold. Sling shot across time zones.
Darker days, doesn't seem to be a mood Booster, at the moment:)

But I am Grateful, I am here, and I am standing strong! And no Surgery, which just makes my Day!
Thanks to those folks who have reached out.
What a wonderful family of friends from all over the world.

Love to All, Laura
And prayers to those who are facing Surgery or Revision Surgery.....

Laura are you weathering the storm ok? Did you lose power?
What is the future of your hip, more recovery time?

Laura,

Spring is on the way....let's hope the worst of the winter is behind you and it only gets better from here. If it makes you feel any better I measured 18 inches of new snow on my front walk (in Vermont) this AM.

Glad to hear that the hip issues are less than you thought...but you still need to take care of you and that hip.

Z

Hi BS friends! And no pun intended:)

Yes Spring is on the Way!
No Power outages on my home front. Altho on this place we have lots of generators, solar panels,
Etc.
It was quiet and peaceful. A nice healing and quiet return time, Home.
This week I go back to work, day job and desk:)

Stability sounds real Cool about right now.
Thank you all for your concern and care!
Laura

Oh p.s. NO SURGERY NEEDED AT THIS TIME!
Oh yeah, I love it when this kind of Information happens! And this is a First, for sure!
2 Surgeons both confirmed. I'm lookin' good!

so happy for you, @LPLaura!

Hello BoneSmart friends,

I have been thinking of you all today. A lot, with a LOT of Gratitude for this Site.
I was reflecting on my recent Scare, while traveling for Job.
I am so thankful for you ALL.

I continue to reorient to work here, at home. It is Spring coming, in the South. Little buds and sprouts, everywhere! A few more Cold snaps, and then it will be official!

I am not limping around as much, as the Cold/Damp weather is going away.
Thank Goodness!
I went to the Gym this evening. Strength getting better for Upper body.
35 minutes on the Eliptical, and of Course.....Right Hip hurts back home, around where
the huge Screw/Locking Ring is installed.
It seems to be that area that is most Bothersome.

It is what it is. I can't change that, today. I am Thankful I can walk.
So much I can be Grateful for, if I just take a look.
Although I have been changed physically, I am Thankful.
....As I have my Hip iced and leg elevated:kittykiss:
Just me and the kitties...

Love to you All, and Thank you for helping me!
Laura P.:thankyou:

Hello Bone Smarties!

I have been thinking of you all a lot, lately.
I am back at home working full-time now. I am Grounded from traveling, per my choice.
Too much on this ole girl:rotfl:

I am hanging in there. I will go see Ortho Surgeon for 2.5+ years checkup, this Month.
I wish I could say it's all good, but there are many days where I feel lots of pain and burning in the Right THR with Locking Ring revision. Around the joint, and down the thigh area.
That is the leg that on occasion just 'goes out' for no reason. It has happened about 5x in the past 2 years.
Very unexpected, just gives out. I panic, each time. Get flushed, hot, think I'm going to pass out.
I experience ongoing numbness in my calf and foot (right leg as well).
Perhaps this will be my 'Norm baseline' functioning?

I'm trying Cycling, now. Cutting way back on eliptical. I wish I liked swimming, but I can't stand the chlorine or the water thing:)

Well, I can Walk. Not too fast, but I can walk.

I just wanted to check in with you all and give you a Report.
I love you all, and you have helped me so very much.
True life savers, during many tough times.
And I remain, GRATEFUL!
Love, Peace, Prayers, and Hugs!
Laura P.
:thankyou:

Hey there @LPLaura my dear friend - so good to hear from you. I am sad that you are still experiencing some issues. Let me know how you go with your OS.. not fair! xxxxxx

Hi Poppet!
I hope all is going well your way!
I do think this may just be the way I am going to be.
Unless I am still healing all those cross nerves and such you discussed in the healing Time article.
Maybe a few more years...
It's odd, now I am so much more aware that I am full of metal and artificial parts.
The Right hip/leg is so sensitive. To weather and workouts.
I'm gonna ask OS to tell it to me straight.
What I can expect from here on out.
And how I can combat the pain.

Other than that, I am slowly orienting to being back Home.
It's actually pretty nice! Working with Doc and enjoying the "Ride":)
Love to you and Hubby!

Thanks honey, I owe you an email xx

No Worries, my Poppet friend:)
Never worry about that! I know you are getting things in Motion, and good things!
Long Overdue!! Yippee!
