THR 6 weeks and feeling GOOD

Yokesgirl
I hope your appointment today gives you helpful information and a path to feeling better and pain relief. I'll be sending you good thoughts and healing energy!

I'll be heading to your thread soon to see how your appointment went. Thinking about you, too!

I would like to chage my thread title to "Moving Forward" not sure how though. I think I am getting out of my funk day 2 of feeling almost my self. Went to see my mom for a visit. Made the bed of course with my reacher, sat on porch with hubby and neighbors. I also left my cane in the kitchen and didnt realize until I went to sit on my couch. Resuming in home PT next week, mostly for walking and eventually showing me how to get in my pool:happydance:. Only took 3 pain pills today. I think knowing nothing was wrong on my CT scan has alot to do with it. I am sure I will still have bad days ahead but I feel incredible. Thank you all again for all the support . I couldnt have done any of this without all your wisdom.

I'ts wonderful to hear how well you're doing!
I agree that the reassurance you received from the CT scan probably gave you the peace of mind
you needed to move forward. Visiting with your mom and neighbors probably helps also. It serves as a distraction and keeps you from dwelling on your temporary limitations.

Less pain medication, forgetting your cane...good signs!

Please take it easy with PT. Would hate to see you land in the ODIC (Over Did It Club)
If anything hurts, STOP, don't do it. I'd also recommend you ice afterward, preventatively.

I hope your weekend is a good one!
@Yokesgirl

I am just catching up as I've been doing some "fun stuff" I couldn't do last year..recovering ..as you are.
Was so happy to hear things are getting better!:ok:

Recovery has its ebb and flow..some say a dance..but patience will certainly serve you well.
Hope today is a Good Day!:SUNsmile:

Yay for two good days! You're on a roll.
Let's make it three!

It's the end of a l-o-n-g holiday weekend. It felt like Sunday yesterday. I think it even felt like Sunday on Friday! I'm sure you know the feeling. Well...tomorrow all will be back to normal and hopefully you'll be going for a great Day Four!

Hugs and best wishes for a wonderful day!
@Yokesgirl

Well today is 4 weeks post op. If someone would of told me last week I will see improvement I would of thought they were crazy. Just in the past 5 days have seen huge improvement, I overdid on Saturday which I knew I did. Sunday spent icing and much of nothing besides small walking with walker and pain meds. Woke up feeling alot better. Went to see my mom. I think I learned finally dont over do it. I may even go get an ice cream cone with hubby. Have a fantastic evening.:SUNsmile:

Yay... @Yokesgirl reckons she'll live.
I remember how relieved I was when I quit wondering if I really did the right thing!:)

:yes!:Celebrate with ice cream for sure! Onward and upward:yahoo:

Things are looking up for you. I agree you should celebrate with ice cream. I think we all felt compelled to jump back into life after our THR but our bodies had other ideas. It just seems like you need to work at recovery and move, lots of activity, PT, etc. but apparently that isn’t how it works. The rest, ice and elevate theory works much, much better as it allows our body to work on healing. Now that you’ve found this formula, I think things will remain much more positive and healing will come much faster than you expected. :yes!::roseshwr:

Wow! You made it through! You're doing great.
What a difference a week can make in this recovery biz.
Happy One Month Anniversary! Things really start looking up the more mobile / active you become.
I recall one month as a big turning point for me. Mentally and physically.
Hope today is Good Day #5!
@Yokesgirl

PT said no walker needed any more, can walk without cane except outside:loveshwr:or when I have increase pain or limp. Starting to like this foreign object in me. Still dont like the 90 degree rule. Will OS lift that when I go see him in 2 weeks?? Yes your right Layla what a difference. I so cant wait to also get in my pool and definetly:bath: I so miss my soaks in the bathtub. Have a blessed evening.

Yay! She's a new woman!
New avatar (like it) and a new attitude!

I wouldn't be surprised if restrictions are lifted at your visit.
It's funny how everyone hates restrictions. I wasn't given any but followed them anyway.
It's like we're all little rebels :heehee: Don't want anyone telling us what to do, lol.
Since my restrictions were self imposed, they didn't bother me BUT had my OS
imposed them, I'm sure I would have hated them as much as the next guy.

So happy you're feeling better and seem to be moving forward. You banished the blues! :yay: :happydance:
@Yokesgirl

@Yokesgirl thinking of you and I am only two days behind you with a right THR. I keep telling myself this too shall pass and I will be walking, biking and hiking again. I like the phrase that it's a marathon not a race so we are training for the marathon we call life. I had a few bad days and getting out even if it's for an hour has helped. I am doing more reading instead of Netflix and Hulu which is helping lift my spirits. Keep doing what feels good and walking even if it's a little has helped me a lot. Check.in frequently so we can hear your progress.

@rheerios that phrase is perfect. I actually went to walmart today my husband got me a buggy and I used that only bought a few things all located nearby but it felt awesome to be in that store. I am pretty tired and icing now for I learned dont overdo it. How is your recovery coming along?

Thank you for your kind words. It's my pleasure!
Hugs
