I have brought forward this month's list so that you can easily see who your surgical buddies are.

Feel free post your surgery date in this thread, and I will add you to the list. Start a thread of your own in the Pre-Op Knee Section to post comments and share your journey toward knee replacement. Here's the link that gives you the instructions you need to do this: Starting a new thread and posting

To start a new thread, hover your mouse over "Knee" on the blue line at the top of the page for the drop down menu. Click on either the "Pre Op" forum. On the upper right hand side under the "Joint Replacement Awareness Day" banner, you will see a black rectangle with the words "Post New Thread" in white. Click on this, enter whatever title you want for your thread, but do try to keep it short and sweet, then tab down to the dialogue box and start typing your post which can be as long as you need for it to be. By starting your own thread, you and your questions and concerns will receive the attention they deserve.

Hi all! After suffering for many years, I am finally scheduled for RTKR on October 23. My doctor thinks I'm too young (51) but at this point I am bone and bone with a large bone spur, and can no longer straighten my leg, so it's time. I'm pretty scared but happy to have found this forum.

Hello all,
I'm late to this party but hope I am not TOO late... I'm having Right Knee PKR on October 16.

Like most of you I have been suffering for years and years. I have had multiple surgeries and repairs, but it's been bone on bone for 6+ years. I was over 300 pounds in 2015 and lost 147 pounds, which helped my pain tremendously - but bone on bone is still painful! So after doing every possible non-surgical option, I've opted for replacements. I'm starting with the right knee. Left will follow as early as allowable.

And I am determined to fight like hell, work hard in my recovery, and be FEISTY!

Best to all of you, and I look forward to preparing and working with all of you. Let's do this.

I am scheduled for left quad sparing knee replacement October 8th. I do not have a patella in that knee and that leg is not as strong due to congenital limb length discrepancy. So recovery will take longer.
