Hi Lori, I am in MN also. Where are you having your surgery? Mine will be at United Hospital in St. Paul on Feb 12. My surgeon will be the same one that did the last 2 surgeries on my left hip.
Hi Mimi2u,
I will be having my revision done at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. I had my first surgery there too but then I was with Summit Orthopedics, now I am with St. Croix Orthopedics and dear Dr. Dahl. See my intro profile for background info. I wish I was getting it done earlier next month, but I had to get my traveling done first! Nice to know we have each other in the St. Paul area. Anyone else?

My OS thinks that the bottom part of my prosthetic has become unattached or unglued and the resulting movement is the cause of the severe pain I have been having...one day I got up and my knee went out on my causing the worst knee pain I have ever had and I have had 4 knee surgeries in the past so I am not a stranger to knee pain. On a bright note, my RTKR is doing great and sends it's regards....It appears that Feb 10th is a very popular day for knee surgeries, the best to all of my bonesmarties and I hope you we can enjoy Valentines day at least a little bit....I know that have already suggested we have a date night the week before.
Opps, never mind Sissy-I see you have all ready answered most of my questions!

Welcome DSkye, is this your first joint replacement? I'm sure you will learn a lot in "joint school". I am having RTKR on Febrary 12, so you will be about a week ahead of me.

I have brought forward this month's list so that you can easily see who your surgical buddies are.

Welcome to our latest and all February Valentines!

This is my first knee replacement. No arthritis in other knee, yet. Not nervous. Too many surgeries to be afraid. Knee has been really hurting today. The leg has really bowed and walking really hurts.

Hello all,
I am having my 1st of 2 TKRs Feb 19. Right knee 1st.
I am really looking forward to not being in pain all the time when the healing is all done. I'm tired of walking like a penguin...I didn't realize I did until a few months ago. I learned it has something to do with the bowing of the leg bones. I was scheduled and have been waiting for this surgery since Nov.
I have had several other surgeries over the years on other parts of my body but each surgery is different. I am excited but nervous about the unknown that waits ahead. Part of what I am nervous about is the pain meds as I am allergic to many. It's enough to just deal with the pain after the surgery but then if you add in nausea, getting sick to your stomach, and or hives it takes your pain to another level besides being exhausted. I'm sure the doctor will go over all this with me again when I see him in Feb.

Welcome to BoneSmart!! Glad you joined the February team. Why not start a thread of your own in the pre-op forum and tell us a bit more about yourself. We love getting to know our members.

Shout out to Lexismom, Papillon, and Irene. We all going to surgery on the same day. Next week will be busy for me with lab appointments Monday and joint school Tuesday. My husband is also going. He is taking two weeks with my surgery to help me. Trying to get things in order so it will be easier for us. We also have three fur kids who are already confused. No trips to the dog park for months now. They will really be confused when I get home from the hospital.

Hi to DSkye, Irene S and Papillon: Looks like we will be going through this together. How are you all feeling; I am not as nervous as I thought. There is a lot more to prepare for than I first thought (I still have two kids at ome), so I think arranging all this things is getting my mind off of it. Plus we are going to Disney next week, of course me in the wheelchair, but it will keep my mind busy. Good luck to all of you and I hope we can cmpare notes when all is done

Having right knee replaced on February 21st unless I chicken out before then.

Hi, and welcome!! So glad you joined us here on BoneSmart. Don't worry...everybody has the jitters before surgery. We'll help calm you down so you can get this done and move on with your life! That's what it's all about.

@annieminute, you have been officially added to the February surgery list! Keep the faith---you don't want to pass on a brand new pain free knee!

Hi Lexismom......

Disney sounds good. I can't wait for this to happen. I'm too active to be down like this. I' m keeping busy trying to get everything into shape so it will easier on us. It's also keeping my mind busy. My husband will be here for 11 days after I get home. Then, I am on my own. He will pop in a couple times during his work hours to take the pups out. Here's to pain free living..........:yes!:

to Bottomshollow- Thank you for adding me to the February Valentines. I've been a "babyboomer" for my entire life and now it is humorous to see I'm a new knees boomer on Feb.10, 2014. Hello to all my February surgery friends and everyone else- pre and post operative people. :-) from Wishingwell. Two new knees coming up!
