TRKR February 11th
Welcome Karringtyn. You are pretty young to be having TRKR. Did you have an injury? My surgery is 2/12, so you are one day ahead of me. Where will you be having your surgery?

@Mimi2u Hi there! I wrote an intro post about my fall which started this all.....I am in NY....Nice to meet you!

I have brought forward this month's list so that you can easily see who your surgical buddies are.
Welcome to our latest and all February Valentines!

Hi everybody, I am having a left unicompartmental revision of tibial component or in words more understandable, a revision of my left partial knee replacement on February 10th.. Luckily I still do not need a total on this knee. Valentines Day is coming early to our house this year....like before the surgery.

Sissy

Welcome sissy, we are having surgery on the same date along with a few others. Im so excited. I really cant wait. Ive immersed myself in bonesmart since I found out about the surgery. Im so prepared. I wish you luck and a successful revision. it looks like the next several months will be very busy. 2 surgeries ! Keep us posted. Can you tell me why a revision is required ??

Hi, Sissy....I'm curious too. What has happened? It's certainly nice to hear from you, but I'd prefer to buzz in to BoneSmart just to tell us how fabulous you're doing!!! :)

My OS thinks that the bottom part of my prosthetic has become unattached or unglued and the resulting movement is the cause of the severe pain I have been having...one day I got up and my knee went out on my causing the worst knee pain I have ever had and I have had 4 knee surgeries in the past so I am not a stranger to knee pain. On a bright note, my RTKR is doing great and sends it's regards....It appears that Feb 10th is a very popular day for knee surgeries, the best to all of my bonesmarties and I hope you we can enjoy Valentines day at least a little bit....I know that have already suggested we have a date night the week before.

Hi Lori, I am in MN also. Where are you having your surgery? Mine will be at United Hospital in St. Paul on Feb 12. My surgeon will be the same one that did the last 2 surgeries on my left hip.

Good for you having a "date night" the week before Valentine's day! I don't think we are going to celebrate it much this year, as I'll most likely still be in the hospital. I'm sorry to hear you have to have revision surgery on your knee. I'll bet you aren't walking on it much these days. Good luck with your surgery!

Still in a bit of shock as I just received a call from my Orthopedic surgeon's office. I knew I was on a list for surgery but it is Feb. 3. I did not want it done in the winter but am being told if I don't take this date that they can't tell me when the next one would be. Apparently the surgeon has been given an extra operating day. He usually operates on Thursdays but this is a Monday. I know it has to be done and I will be more at ease with it soon. I just did not expect it so quick. I just saw him on Dec 24th in the hospital for a cortisone shot and was scheduled to see him in his office Feb. 5th. My goodness did that change fast! It is good to know that I will have company with others on this site.

Welcome ! You have alot of catching up to do, not much time to worry . You will need to read as much as possiable , someone shortly will be sending you reading material. ( please read). Also you will need to buy or borrow post op home care items such as shower chair, walker ,crutches ,pillows for proper elevation and perhaps a ice therapy machine. Ice therapy machine can be purchased via ebay, amazon even craigslist. All depending on your insurance. It looks like you have been a member for quite some time so maybe you are very aware of what lies ahead . That being the case congratulations on your surgery date ,5 days before me !

Thank-you. I have actually had the right one done in 2010 so have an idea what to expect.( All the other appt. hospital etc. are set for next week)

Having RTKrevision on February 6th due to suspected metal allergy. Hoping 2nd time is the charm. Good luck to all my February friends and looking forward to Spring more so than any other year! My surgery being done at HSS in NY. Any chance I will see any of you there?

My surgery is being done in Toronto at St. Joseph's Hospital. My right knee was also done thoere.Same surgeon.

Hi Sissy,

I am also having a revision of a left uni. My OS said he would do another partial but would understand if I would rather have a full replacement at this time. (See my intro for my full background.)

Here is my question for you, how is it that you need a revision and that it could be another partial?? Do you think another partial for us is a good idea? Thanks for your information!
