My surgery is Monday the 3rd. I broke my tibia and knee last May and there was not enough bone left to rebuild the knee joint. Scared and excited at the same time!!

Welcome to Bonesmart, Becca. I have found that reading on this forum about what to expect post-op has helped me get mentally prepared for my RTKR on Feb 12th. Just read everything you can and don't overdo it and I'm sure you will heal up with a knee that is good as new!

I have brought forward this month's list so that you can easily see who your surgical buddies are.

Welcome to our latest and all February Valentines!

I don't think I have been added to Feb. Surgery list. I am having tkr left at 7:45 am EST,Feb 3

I am newbie to this site, 61 yrs old. My total knee replacement is scheduled feb 11. I am freaked out beyond belief! I went to a joint replacement class today and came away terrified. I haven't talked with them about anesthesia yet...is there a thread here that discusses people's experience?

Time to get our group of Valentines going for February.

If you are having surgery this month, please post on this thread and join the team. It's always better to have others going through surgery and recovery with you!
Feb. 25th for Me Double TKR

Hi all,
I'm having bilateral knee replacement on February 17th. Been in pain for over 11 years and finally a very fine surgeon said "yes"! He performed surgery on my back in Aug. 2013, and it is great now. I am lucky. I have complete confidence in him. I am so ready for this surgery....
Good luck to all with surgeries coming up and to those that have already had theirs done. I hope we all recover well and much better off than we were.

Linda

Hi, I'm also 61 and having my surgery on Feb. 17th. I'll be thinking of you and pray that you recover very quickly and with as little pain as possible...

@socko99 I'm glad you are getting your knees replaced since they have been a problem for so long. But......your surgeon......does he do a lot of knee replacements each year.....like at least 150? It is so very important to have an experienced surgeon in the procedure you are having done. BTKRs are even more tricky than doing just one, so I hope you have researched to ensure that he has done a substantial number of those as well.

Yes Jamie, He has done over 150 (over 200) last year alone. He has great reviews for bilateral knee replacement and he really is a great surgeon.
