Thanks @kneeper, the pain is back to what is was pre-test, manageable. Just waiting for a date for the CT Scan now. We are almost 6 months post op now. I never thought I'd still be having trouble this far out and waiting for a diagnosis. On the plus side I thought that I was losing ROM. I went on my exercise bike today after a long break. I could manage a full revolution straight away, something I couldn't do before unless I went backwards and forwards a few times. I was happy about that. I am not doing much weight bearing on the left leg. I need to find a painfree way of keeping my muscles in tone. I might try the bike each day now so long as it doesn't set my ankle pain off.

My nerve conduction studies we uncomfortable, but not painful. This Dr. did not know what he was doing in my book.

@Pumpkln, I almost jumped off the couch a few times the pain was so bad. He kept gripping my legs very firmly especially round my left ankle which is sore to touch normally. He then said it was my back that was the problem not the peroneal nerve. I think the sciatica is a secondary problem set off by my unnatural gait and it is masking the real primary problem whatever it is. He only tested three points on each leg with the needles.

I was tested at multiple sites, foot to knee, knee to hip when I had my testing.

That is what I was expecting, but not what I got. Ankle, below knee around calf and just above knee on both legs is what I got.

@busylizzie i had same tests yesterday yup on a sunday. I had shocks put through bad leg with basically no movement, he then did the good leg to compare. Sheeeeeeeesh I was bouncing round the bed like a breakdancer on speed. Then needles yep they went in at 2 inches I couldnt feel anything at first but then looked, the never never look down scenario. He then said he would do thigh. I thought oh shucks my thigh muscles hurt already. The quad almost bought out the yodelling in me esp when I had to clench muscle. It is sore and I feel for you, I justna big stupid man and deffo put my hand up saying it hurt.
Hope you are ok. Im wrapping my head about some life changing decisions I must make, and theres me already used my 1 thought for the decade. @Legin, thanks for that. How long did your tests take? Were they done by the NHS or agency working for them? I still feel very short changed.
I've just chased up the CT scan appointment and they are saying 8 weeks. Apparently it was booked on the 14 th November and I saw the consultant on the 10th. He told me 2 to 3 weeks wait. They are never realistic. They told me to cancel the next consultant appointment on the 8 the January if the scan appointment hasn't come through by then. No way am I going to cancel!

The Scottish system is great. Hubby's paternal family originated from southern Scotland. We had to have a bad insect bite looked at this summer whilst up there and went to the local hospital walk in unit one Saturday. They couldn't treat us there but phoned ahead to the nearest larger hospital and made an appointment with a doctor there. We had an hour to do the approx 30 miles to get there. They were super efficient and we didn't have to pay for the prescription either. They look after the old folk a lot better too.

@Legin all we could get out of him was that it was my back on both sides L4, L5, S1. I think he is missing the real problem by not doing thorough testing. My abnormal gait due to misalignment I think is the primary problem. The back problem is a result of this. The pain starts in my foot and ankle and if I aggravate them the pain then travels up my legs towards my back.

But hey means I have a fight on my hands sooooo like proving medicals wrong in negative prognosis. RRRRRRRRRRRROAR, I have a hill to climb one day. Mind you its the coming down that might be tricky ooooooooooooooooops. Seriously thomis your physio going to work with you on this, im seeing mine on thurs and already I am making a list of things. She is used tomme tho, other week she said whilst shaking head, why did i pick you to work with you drive me nuts, my reply had to be. But the pleasures all mine. Good luck @busylizzie if you wqnt a bleather about it im here, well cept when im there

@Legin, has all this started from hip replacement? I've no physio at the moment. They signed me off ages ago when I managed to get a decent bend. I couldn't do any of the weight bearing exercises due to pain in my foot/ankle. The pain in my foot started straight after the last op. I felt it as the spinal wore off. It has been worse than the knee pain most of the time. Now it triggers off knee pain and pain all up my leg to my back. I have also now got sciatica in my good leg which is 2cm shorter than my left one.
I would be interested in what treatment you get from the physio
Its good to hear you say 'bleathering' hubby's granny and aunts always were having a good bleather. I only met his granny once and needed an interpreter. She came from a remote farmstead in the hills.

I too didn't have an easy surgery as I had no knee before just a lump of antibiotic loaded cement for 27 weeks. I have a custom made knee with a fixed hinge and no rotation.
