Hi Sharon

Nice to hear you are doing well and hope you enjoy ypur hols in the sun you very lucky person

Billy

hi guys, just back from my hols. Had a great time, did a fair bit of walking and everything was fine...no aches, no pain, no nothing ! Wasn't hot enough to strip off and sunbathe, but just right for sitting outside the bar with a luvverly San Miguel and having a laugh with the other holiday makers.
It's amazing to be able to get on with life and not be the one lagging behind because it hurts too much to walk fast. The op is the best thing ever, although I did read the headlines in one of the newspapers whilst I was away about regrowing cartlidge, must have a look through the forum to see if that is mentioned on here, but just wanted to stop by to say hello to all my bonesmart buds first ! :-D

At 5 wks out it is good for me to read about people further along. Ahh the promise of my normal, or new normal life in the near future. Thanks for posting. Gives me something to look forward to. -cathy

Great update! Thanks for stopping by. So glad you are getting on with living again.

Billy

Hi Sharon

So thrilled that you had a wonderful holiday... Nice for life to return to normal :)

Hi Babe,
Great to here you had a good hol, where was it? Somewhere in the Med (San Miguels?) I'm very jealous as we've had wall to wall house guests for weeks now and could really do with a break.
I can't spot anything about cartilage probs on the web .... you haven't been reading the SUN again have you???:th_heehee:

Wonderful! Soooo happy for you. Life is good:yes 4: when one can enjoy vacations like this.

thanks guys for all your good wishes and kind thoughts and yep Charlie, i was in Mallorca ! San Miguel, mahou or Estrella, I like my beer !
i wish I was there now, its too cold in manchester ....brrrrrrr

Hi Sharon

Mallorca sounds wonderful, we are in Autumn and it won't be long before we will be heading into winter and then I will be saying Brrrrrr !!

xx

Hi Sharon, glad you are doing so well, the holiday must of been so much better without all the pain and discomfort. How did you get on with the airport scanners???

Hi Sharon, welcome back. The holiday sounds great, you lucky girl. My turn in the summer, but have to learn to walk properly first! SOO good that life is getting back to normal, isn't it?

Oh yes, so much better ! Just booked the bank holiday weekend too, so I'm going back !
i am starting to feel a bit more flexible , can actually fasten my trainers now, although its still hard and takes time to reach that stretch, but it is pleasing that things are still improving.
Also been doing a bit of gardening, digging and planting and forgot to say, did plenty of dancing on holiday too . Its hard to imagine how I could have put up with so much pain, all the time, I guess we just live with it and it becomes part of our lives and to be pain free is such an amazing feeling. I wish this for everyone out there who is suffering and a special thought for LXmanager who keeps getting constant knock backs with no date in sight :cry4:

oh and airport scanners were ok...I buzzed, but I always do, think its my belly button ring ! But I was a bit more aware this time, but in manchester we have the body scan things, so i knew it would be no problem. Also my little boy had to go through it too and he's only 8 !!!
Coming back from Palma airport was fine too, I buzzed and i told the lady doing it and she patted me down and gave me a smile and that was it.

I once had a full body search in New Delhi... It was at a time of civil unrest...

Unnerving for the woman in front of me who had a mastectomy and had a prosthetic....

The fun of international travel!

So pleased you had so much fun with your new hardware :)

Just wondering if anyone is the same as me ???? Everything such as walking is fine, yet i still feel and am swollen on my op leg. Not so much that anyone would probably notice, but it defo is bigger on one side !
It is really weird and uncomfortable sitting on my operated side, it really feels as though I am sat on something hard, yet it is my own leg !
My physio said by 12 weeks it should have settled down , but it is no different ...........I don;t want to have one fat leg forever, anybody have the same ????

Yes, I'm about 12 weeks out too, and the op leg is definitely swollen. Didn't really notice till you mentioned it, but then most guys aren't too concerned about leg appearance anyway.:wink1:

I'm seeing my OS in a couple of days, will post any answers. I asked about the swelling when I was in hospital, and I vaguely remember something about 6 months of swelling being common, but I was righteously medicated at the time.
