I am betting that you will be able to get a lot closer and you won't be in so much pain! You will be experiencing the relief of why we all have TKR's in the first place! I already have tickets to the country music festival next April and I wouldn't miss it for the world! We have other trips we are planning, when "Capsie" straightens up! :happydance:
 
What a beautiful place KayeKaye! Do you have a date for your new knees yet? And, when do you plan to visit the falls next year?
 
No date yet, still getting dental work done as we speak. Have to be healed from it before they will set the date. Probably October for the BTKR.
The falls are just 30 minutes away so can go anytime.

Got my crown at the dentist today, and now my tooth is killing me. I thought it was suposed to be the other way around!:rotfl:

Thanks Jacky, it's finally feeling ok today, I hope I have no further problems with it. Now on to the next one.

Yesterday I drove to Lake Superior about 3 hours away. Sat on the beach but had to pass up my favorite spot down the giant hillside, couldn't navigate it. Yes walking is really taken for granted. Drove home around midnight. Legs are really sore and tired today. But couldn't pass up the day at the great lake with a friend.

Great to hear KayeKaye! :yes!: Isn't being by the water so calming! I'm glad you had a great day at the lake, somehow it almost makes it worthwhile with the pain issue. :console2:

Tooth is STILL hurting and it got done last Monday. I hope it doesn't turn into a root canal because my last root canal failed and that is what I having pulled out on the other side. This is getting complicated.

Wednesday I shopped with my visiting daughter. Had been managing the pain ok so I thought, yeah why not? Well Thursday yikes! I was in pain till Saturday. My leg muscles were really sore and leg cramps. I am so out of shape, I didn't even know it. Today she wants to go to Ikea and I just can't. She wants me to go in the scooter with her. I just can't...
:sigh:

So I'm rewatching Evita and going to the beach later today.
 
Awe man that tooth is really giving you a lot of trouble. I hope it settles down so you don't have to have a root canal, those are the pits!:sorry:
Sorry to hear about you muscles and leg pains. Don't you just hate it when you want to do something, but your body won't allow it!:gaah: Not fair!!!! I don't blame you about Ikea and the scooter thing, I simply could not have done it either before my TKR!:console2: Hopefully soon this will all be behind you, hang in there!:flwrysmile:

Just recording what a bad week I've had so I can't live in denial next week. Can't sleep from all the pain. Been keeping up on meds but had two of my little grands overnight and took them to the park. Did way too much cooking, which means too much standing. Doesn't hurt while I am standing but a few hours later, oh boy! How can I not when they take a bite and say "this is the best food I remember!" Went to the beach park but it was so hot today. More walking. Tomorrow darling daughter coming home from college for a cousins shower, then another younger cousin coming for a sleepover for a couple more days. No rest in sight. But I love it.

So much I am missing out on, but when I keep myself busy I sometimes deny that I am in such pain. But I am in a lot of pain and doing so little. Maybe next year I will be shopping and swimming and travelling with them instead of sitting watching endles movies. Do you know how hard it is to keep 7 year old twin boys entertained all day and night while sitting?!

A couple of nice looking, very exuberant, "all boy" grandkids! Know they are a joy---and leave you worn out but happy.

I hope your tooth pain is gone so you don't have to endure pain as well as your knee pain. Pain is soooo exhausting!:thud:

Thanks Jackie and Bottomshollow, they are so much fun. I've had a terrible weekend, full of fun but full of nonstop pain. I haven't even been able to type, I am so exhausted by the pain. And the tooth that I had capped 2 weeks ago today is still hurting. I am exhausted.
 
I had one of those teeth, brand new crown and then they said I guess it DID need a root canal, and proceeded to drill through my new shiny new crown. I hate when that happens!
 
So now what happens KayeKaye, do you have to call the dentist back some time soon? I hope that gets resolved quickly so you can move on. Get plenty of rest, you sure need it!:console2:
 
Thanks Janet and Jackie! I had one of those root canals after a cap happen last year on the right side too. Now the root canal failed and they need to pull it. This year it is on the left side. I do have to get back in and see if the left side is going to have to be pulled as well. ugh. NOT a happy camper about this all. I think I need a new dentist, but it just might be the luck of the draw...

On a good note, the knees are finally starting to settle down and not be so painful. I've noticed that if I sit at a chair at a function and I don't have access to putting my feet up my knees hurt that night really bad. They don't hurt right away so I didn't think anything of it. But then at night and the next day it gets really bad. Is that just me? What is the limit for sitting at a function without hurting? What happens for others that have to sit all day at work? I guess it's different for everyone but I have such a new compassion for people that are working all day with this pain.
 
Kaye Kaye, I'm just catching up on your thread. I hope that your tooth is feeling better. We share bad luck with teeth and knees. :heehee: What adorable grandsons!!!!!!!! Cutie pies to the max!!!!
