TKR This time I am doing it right and having a blast

Judy I love this, espically the man firing the person. It hits the spot. Ups I just remember I haven't eaten yet. So talk to you later. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Tashia, if you want an avatar, maybe I can help you with it. I have found a picture of a smiling dog
[Bonesmart.org] This time I am doing it right and having a blast
who I think seems just right for you---but you decide---if you'd like to use this, let me know and I will give you step by step directions for putting it in your computer and then putting it in your forum profile.

The smiling dog is cute! Sorry to hear all you have been through with the care givers :hairpulling:
Hope you adjust quickly to being on your own, and are able to get out and start enjoying the things you like to do.
Have a good nite!

Tashia, you have been through SO much more than most of us here would endure in TWO lifetimes! I would seek out another care agency or ask your doctor's staff, and your PT to keep an ear to the grapevine. I got my housekeeper (with me >27 yrs now!) when her mother-in-law, who had been my short-term new-baby nurse, got assigned to another family with a newborn. I had postpartum depression and could not cope alone (my husband keeps insanely long hours, more than when he was an intern & resident). She called me to see how I was doing, I unburdened my heart to her, and she told me her daughter-in-law needed work (but was afraid of cats). She started as my nanny and is now my housekeeper five half-days a week. She knows more about my house than I do (!), adores my kitties (who consider her their second mom) past & present, and keeps me organized. And she has become friend and family rolled into one. Had I stuck with the first agency who knows where I'd be? Sometimes the most out-of-the-box solution turns out to be the best one. It's also maddening to hear some doctor--who isn't experiencing YOUR pain--tell you you need to kick your meds so soon, considering how many surgeries you've had in such quick succession.

I have been thinking about Avator. and somewhat confused. I do love dog but I do notice I love all animals, And love to do so many things. A electical shipping cart driving by a smiling dog holding a quilt. I'm just thinking out load. Had a different day. Both knees were very stiff today. I don't know if I would call it pain. But my blood pressure was high so something was going on. Has anyone had this. Just very stiff. The whole leg was tight. Walking was diffecuilt. Still stiff. Legs also swollen. I see the doctor this week which is good but I do hope it goes away before then. A little scary. Did get to drive a little. I was surprised how easy it was. Would like to hear if anyone has had this with the knees. Everyone take care. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Swelling and stiffness can continue for many months Tashia. Sounds like you were very active today and your knees are complaining. Try ice and elevate as well to get the swelling down. Take care!

Jaycey, Thats not what I wanted to here but that's life. I guess that means I should start using the walker more?:gaah: I guess my sewing going have to be shelved for a couple of days. I did take myself out for a hamburger. :heehee:Wow what exicitment. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Tashia,
You can start with one avatair, then change it as you like.
Sorry your legs are stiff and swollen, as you know those good and bad days come and go as they wish.
Hamburger sounds great, we are going to a funky hamburger stand today, best burgers, grass fed beef.
Hope your knees decide to have a good day today!

Punkin, Thank you for wishing me a good day. Today I feel down. After yesterday I feel like I went for a ten mile hike and didn't rest a bit. Last night I didn't sleep well. I was really in more pain than I wanted. My legs are less swollen today and not in so much pain. Emotional I feel sad and impatience. I am trying to get someone to help me three times a week. I am not ready to cary a lot of groceries. Living alone can really be trying when you aren't feeling the best. When you go out have lots of fun. take care. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Had a better day but have to say my knees are feeling better. I went down for a nap and sleep for 8 hours. WOW That is so great. Have had some anxious moments. but I must remember I have control over how I react to it. I can either run with it or say what can I do about it? If the answer is no, Then relax. I must. I have found that having a new knee is slow to recover and that taking a easy is the way to go. I hope everyone has a good week. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Glad you are feeling better today Tashia. As you know recovery is a roller coaster. Some days good, some days not so good. Glad you were able to get some sleep. That really helps!

Today was a good day. I got to the doctor and we got the medicane streighten out. I like the way the doctor changed my medicane. Tonight I do have some hives. I don't think its the medicane, I have been nerves so we shall see. I did get to DRIVE TODAY. I KNOW IM' YELLING BUT I GOT TO DRIVE. WOW.:puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Yell all you want Tashia. :happydance:! Driving is a great milestone. Enjoy it. Glad your meds are fixed as well.

As with everything you trade one thing for another. I need to eat more apples and fruits so I can relax when I go to the bathroom. TMI. :heehee: everything will get worked out. My pain is better. I had a quite Birthday. I did go out for lunch. The day was hot but it was good to get out. I also got to go a sewing shop.:yes!: Tomarrow will be a quiet day to make sure I get all things taken care of.:puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1: Everybody have a very good weekend and a safe one.

I'm glad you got out of the house for your birthday birthday Tashia! You are always ending your messages telling the rest of us positive things. I really like reading your posts! You are an inspirational person. You have been through so much, but you just keep on going! God bless you!

Happy birthday Tashia. May the next year be one of recovery and happiness.
