TKR This time I am doing it right and having a blast

Got rid of my 15 year old van. Had a good cry. It was good to say by but sad it had to go to auction. I hope whoever buys her takes care of her. She was a very good and took me where ever I needed to go. I needed to have lots maintence done on her and I just couldn't see spending that much money on a old car. Plus the van didn't pass the inspection and it couldn't be license untill it was done. Would of had to have it towed to the repair to get fixed. It was getting of what else is going to need to be fixed? Now I understand with the car I now have I won't have to do smog check anymore. I sure hope so, its a pain. As for my knee its great. A little tender today so not doing much which is ok because its very hot today, Over 105 degree. The PT came over yesterday and I am at 95 so the knee is doing good. He wants me at 100 Friday. We will see. I'm not pushing this one like I did with the other. So far so Good.
Got my sewing machine so I can get it going and finish a quilt that I have started. Good to have it running again. All is good. Everyone do take care. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Yesterday I felt better and so I started cutting back. Sadly it didn't work well. If I keep the medicane on time or close to it, I'm great but it still has to be. Today I get a blood test to see if my Cancer medication is working right. I sure hope so I am tired of feeling down and being extra tired. At least I know what it is so just go with it. With the fire we are receving some smoke. This fire is not right on top of me but close enough to effect the air I breath. Everyone stay safe. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Tashia,
Looks like things are looking up for you, Knee done, new car, and your sewing machine is back!
Wishing you continued progress!
:bicycle1:

Hay Pumpkin, Hi, How are you doing? I get to your site to say HI.:puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

My Rom is really good. I got to 100 but my extension isn't good. The PT came today and we talked about the first knee done doesn't have good extension either. Has anyone had trouble with this? Even as a kid my right leg didn't have good extension. does this mean I will always have pain? I sure hope not. This really concerns me. I know I can do something about my left because it new but I sure don't want to be in pain after all this. I was so disappointed that sewing wasn't tonight. I was really looking foward to being around people. I been so busy with my leg I didn't realize it hasn't been even 6 weeks. This month is going so slow. But I can't chance that. Well now I better get back to my exercise. Have a good Sunday. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Tashia,

It takes time and patience to let the swelling and angry tissues inside calm down. Tell me when you are sewing, are your feet hanging down, or are you propping them up? Remember ice is still your best friend, along with pain meds!

Take care and I am so glad that you got a new car. I remember having to part with my Honda Accord that Dad and and I had picked out. It had 265,000 and still ran well. My family was afraid it would let me down on the road though, so with a heavy heart, I sold it. I realized I was keeping it for sentimental value, when truly as long as I live, part of Dad will continue to live. That's the best feeling of all!

RestAssured, Right now I am not doing sewing. Sewing with my legs up is a problem so when I do start I will have a alarm and get up every hour and move around and put my knees up and use ice. We do hold onto things that have sentimental value don't we? I was cleaning out my closet and found lots of my Mother blankets. It brought back such wonderful memories, I know we have had lots of fire and I thought since she was involved in Red Cross so much I would donate them but to let go is another problem. I will keep one if I can let go of them. I do know someone would enjoy them.

Today is a major day. I think I did a big turn around with my knees. The reason I am saying knees is my other one has been stressed out because it is trying to be the strong knee and its not. My pain pills wore off and the knees where just a little tender. Isn't that great!!!!!!!!!!! And is was for six hours so I am going in the right direction. :spin: :happydance: :dancy: Oh to be able to dance again and play. Actually right now I would love to go for a hike without any assistance and just enjoy watching the birds. I still need to work on my extension. This week is 6 weeks from the surgrey and boy Have I Come A Long Way!!!!!!! To be able to walk without horrible pain is great. To be contol is even better. I do see a tomarrow and that is so great. My one hip that hasn't been done yet has calmed down so much I can hardly bellieve it.

My stomach is also getting better. I wish I had know a lot of my pain was stomach I would of done much better. This week I plan to play with my car. I want to put in some addresses of some sewing shops so when I do drive, my car will know where to find the places. :heehee: I have been so hours bond for such a long time its almost hard to believe that I might return to norma. Well the first place I might drive to is a ice cream shop. I love ice cream in the summer with sauce on the top with lots of nuts. mmmmm Boy does that sound good.

Around my house I sometimes walk without any assistance. I have to be careful because I could blow it. Its when you start feeling better is where I have to be so careful. I do know I wouldn't of made it without you giving me such hope and support. In some ways we are so lucky. At anytime we can come here and write what we feel without hearing a sign of bordem from other people. When we get stuck its ok and find acceptence. Wow. What a wonderful Place. And here is the interesting part if we didn't have the problems with our joints we would of never meet. So good things do come out of bad. We also are so strong in our spirit because we get the problem solved and they support each other so we can get our life back and are so greatful for walking, shopping or just enjoying Mother Nature. Well I better end here I could write all day for the things I am grateful for. Everyone do take care and keep climbing those hills. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

:goodpost:Oh, Tashia, you ARE just getting BETTER & BETTER! And you are sounding so upbeat---I love it for you! And, yes, let those new wheels take you to the ice cream shop. Get out of the house for a little while--it will lift your spirits.

Tashia!!!!!:happydance:

Your post made me happy! To hear how much better you are doing is great! I am still on crutches but I am not complaining (well... not much:heehee:) Get in that car and plug in all the sewing shops and ice cream shops and try out all of them! Then come back and give us a detailed report! Well, on the ice cream you might space it out over several days!:heehee:
I am just so glad that you are making such progress now! Way to go!

:yay::thumb:
Tashia,
You are doing great, wishing you continued progress, and fun riding around in your new car.

Wow Tasia, things sound like they are really coming along for you on so many levels. I am so glad for you. Soon you will be taking that walk you want, out among nature [Bonesmart.org] This time I am doing it right and having a blast and then a stop at the ice cream shop - sounds perfect.

Keep pacing yourself, you are doing great! Cathy

Thanks I love all the butterflies and all the extra. I was really caught off guard that when I woke from my nap, I found my self in :boohoo:. I want to get my life back so bad. I do know it will take time so It was just a way to get to release the pressure. Recover is very hard and this is the third time for me. This week is going to be cool so I need to get out in it as much as possible. I have cut one of my pills in half and are every other time using half of dose. We will see how it goes. I know I have to be open to this because it does take time to my recover. I do feel like this is the last time for a while. Since all these surgies were close I need time for my body to recover. The only one that I feel is recovered is my hip. Because of both knees being spaced it will take time. My last surgies is going great. I just have to go with my moods and if I cry, I cry. Now to look forward. I hope you will have a good week. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Remember my fav saying "tears are the safety valve of the heart" and you are right, they are just letting off a little emotion so you can keep on going. Let's face it Tasia, you have been through an awful lot. It is amazing you can keep your good attitude. Soyour hip is one out of 3, next it will be 2 pot of 3 , then you will feel so good you will be busy with your life and all the things you have been waiting to get back to.

You will get there, and it has been a long haul, and it will take time. Sending some healing energy your way my dear :puppysmooze:

Today I am really sad. Last night I went to the surgeon that did or knee and he told me that the knee was horrible. It should of been done first. Now the question is the first knee done wasn't able to heal right because so much pain with the left. So does mean I will have pain in the right for the rest of my life? I have good 120 degree of bend and not quite full extention. The surgeon said I will just not walk too fast because of it but thats it. I went to so many doctors because I knew something was wrong with the left and no one listen so does this mean I am going to have trouble for the rest of my life. My hip was able to get well so at least I won't have hip pain. but when I started this over two years ago I could hardly walk now to be informed I did it in the wrong order does not make me feel good. The price I paid was a bad stomach plus over a year of solid pain medican. I do know that I have very bad pain but the amont of pain medicane that they had to use to get it under control really upset me now I know they did the wrong leg first. I feel so let down, I also feel that people don't listen to me when I yell. I cried all night over it. I also overdid it trying to get it xrayed and to the doctor to be told of such good news. I am :hairpulling::hissy::tantrum:and that is just the beginning. Today I am trying to knock down the swelling that was caused by last night. My person who arranges my caregiving has decided to give me the silent treatment and not return my call. I have a doctor appointment and no ride. :headbang: So again my recover is in trouble. I am so tired of this I could:shocked:or is scream. Talk many steps backword. Everyone take care and I trully hope this doesn't happen to you. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle2:

Tashia,
Yikes what disappointing news that your TKR sequence was not right,:gaah:. At least it is behind you, take it easy and let both of those knees heal now that you are not overusing the first TKR knee. Try not to think about it too much, you cannot do anything about it except :hairpulling:. Hope your caregiver challenges are over soon, and that you can start driving!
Now that you have fallen off your :bicycle2: it is time to :bicycle1:.

Ok, Tashia,

He told you wrong sequence, so now ask yourself, that same person who has been so encouraging on so many other people's posts, what now? Heck, you have been through much worse than this and come through smiling!

Ok, first step, back to basics of letting knee heal. This will give your other knee a rest also. As I have found out, you can wish for it to be better, or do something to help and not hurt your situation. Take doctor's words with a grain of salt, remember this is YOUR body and take care of yourself. We care about you! :friends:

I like what both of you said. I can't change what has happened. I have had my cry, couldn't believe I had so much tears. I have worked so hard to get back on my feet and to find it was made more diffucult just realing got me.

Now for the good news. My swelling is going down. It still is tender. I will get back on the schedule and I will be ok. I just needed to feal it. Now I have, I need to pick up and get going again. I am concered about my first leg though. We are having wonderful weather. It got down in the 70s. WOW I do have a appointment with my family doctor to see what the new plan will be now we know the problem. I have been cleared for the pool. I live right next door to a health club which I am a member. Now to take it slow and that is the secret I feel. I didn't walk much today. In fact I sleep most of the day. Feel much better. I am working on the mess with the caregivers. I think I have it under control. I know that you never have control but its nice to convience you of it.:heehee: boy would I like some ice cream, eventhough I know right now with my stomach the way it is, I can't But I can dream right. Well my pain pill has kicked in and I feel better. I hope that everyone had a good day. and tomarrow will be better. Everyone take care. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:

Oh Tasia I am so sorry. I am sure you needed that cry and to be angry. Gotta get it out before moving on. I am also sure it is hard to find your balance [Bonesmart.org] This time I am doing it right and having a blast . With all that news. You want to stay positive because that is the kind of person you are but how can you not be angry too.

Like people said above, you can work on a better outcome than the doc has given you. You are on the other side of the surgeries and all you can do is take the information and move forward. When you find yourself down, or needing to rant and rave a bit, do it, get it out of your system. Don't hold it in, just let it out and use some of it to fuel you forward to some awesome healing. You have come too far, nothing can hold you down now and we are here for you on the hip side AND the knee side. You have support coming from all angles

Glad the swelling is going down and I am sending BIG TIME HEALING ENERGY your way [Bonesmart.org] This time I am doing it right and having a blast

Hi Everyone, I am feeling better today. I just had a ruff day but my knee I think is ok. The swelling is down even more and in less pain. Sleep for 6 hours. Felt good.:spin: I just found a sewing store I didn't know about so I am going to put the address in the car so I can find it when I can drive. :yay: Tomarrow I get a new caregiver which I am really looking forward to. things are starting to look up. :yes!: Its so nice not to be so close to the pain medication so I wouldn't miss a dose. Now when I need it, I take it, I do notice its now about every 5 to 8 hours. Going in the right direction to say the least. Getting my self-confidence back which is also very good. Everyone do take care. :puppysmooze:Tashia:bicycle1:
