Good morning
@Layla
I have been meaning to do an Update and so Two Months is a great place to do it! 8 weeks of healing...When I look back to Day One, I am amazed at the amount of healing and incredible change my body has gone through.
While it was not a walk in the park, I am so glad that most of the early bumps in the road are either gone or are resolving slowly. My hip is great! When I overdo things, I do feel some mild groin pain. I have been a bit more busy than I would like to be, but I continue living life. On Thursday, we went to Manhattan and I got a haircut and color from my favorite hairdresser on the planet and then went to Rigby & Peller on Madison Avenue and got some French cut underwear so that my incision isn't bothered (very indulgent!) Then we went for a walk in Riverside Park (how could we not?!) So it goes without saying, the hip (and leg) were complaining with swelling next day.
I still have some swelling and tightness, but that's okay. Thank God, the bruising is completely gone. My manual PT says she feels that the LLD will be resolved. I do have to rejoin my gym because she wants me using the bicycle 3 times a week in between therapy with her. It's funny, because when I walk a decent distance, everything warms up and I walk normally! So, we are getting there...I'm not afraid to do my morning stretches down on the rug....they are actually helping me feel so much better and more flexible.
I want to encourage anyone who may read this … with my first hip, I was in agony. I was in such denial about it until I went away with a girlfriend one weekend and she saw me 24/7 and hobbling along. She forced me to make that first call to the OS. With my second hip, I wasn't in pain hardly at all and I was walking fine. So, for me, because I went from feeling good to complications following surgery, this second hip was the more difficult of the 2. Either way, if your OS says you need a replacement, you most probably do. I highly recommend it. Don't worry about possible side effects.
It's all about your quality of life.
