Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

the appointment was good and bad. I didn't see the doctor that I was surpose to see because she was sick. That's too bad. I did get see someone thou, I have mixed feeling about it. It is a six week commitment which is not problem however because my perious doctor didn't get right on it I will have to drive further to the classes. What a pain. The classes don't start till Feb however if my xdoctor had gotten in right, I would be in them now and would of had all my rides arranged without paying a lot for transportation. I am not a happy camper to say the least.:hairpulling: Since I have to Feb maybe I will be driving by then and so it won't be so expensive. the classes are free but if I have to pay for transportation it will be a lot. Good thing I have till Feb. to figuire it out. I have been very busy this week and tomarrow I hope is a day of rest. We are getting rain and boy do we need it. So taking naps and not doing much tomarrow is a Great. I do have to say that I am getting me more on schudle (sp) and that is helping me greatly. I do have to admit that today i pasted a donut shop that is so good I have my driver stop and I got three donuts and in no time had them eaten, they tasted so great. I guess all of you talking about food is making me want to eat more often. Which is Great. Now back to the classes. During the classes they will talk about all different ways to help with pain. some i already know but you never know what you can find unless you search. I really don't know what I would do without you, Before I found you I was so lonely and now I know i can be with you any time day or night. :ThankYou: from the bottom of heart and sole. and for the new ones who are reading our site for the fist time, hang around you will learn tons and meet such wonderful people who will have unblievealbe (sp) knowledge and great surport. And most important you can misspell and I feel no one cares, they stil do accept you. And for those who have trouble with the computer skills, hang in there, I can't believe how much better I've gotten better because they help you with that too. If you read any of my logs you find i believe that we have hills to go over in life and we are to celebrate each one as we have climbed them with great success. Everyone take care and keep in touch. Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Hello tashia, I'm sorry to hear about all your problems with getting to classes, the cost of transport and the inconvenience of having to wait. But with your wonderful philosophical outlook on life you will understand that this is only a temporary blip on the road to your recovery. Last night I was talking to two ladies who had had their THRs a year ago and they couldn't really remember all the ups and downs of their recovery - they were just so happy with their new hips, and that was so nice to hear.

And I know just what you mean about how good it is to be able to visit this site and to find friends here, day or night. You,yourself, have already given so much, tashia, in the short time you have been here - there must be many people here who benefit from your wisdom. And don't worry one bit about your spelling! We can all understand and appreciate the warm heart behind the words.

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Tonight I find myself with two sore hips. Not sure what happened. This up and down moods and good day and bad are part of life but I don't have to like it.
every one take care:doggieshmooze:

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Sandy, thank you for caring. I was sitting and waiting for the pain meds to take hold and I wished there something I could be doing while waiting for them to take hold so and I went and played with my puppets. And after playing with them I put them in their special place. I found one that I thought I had lost but now it's with the others. Right after my father passed away years ago, I was getting the puppets ready to use them for the work I did and I told her to help me on a new idea and she got so involved she insisted to go to the shop and by one for her. A couple of years later I ran into a child who needed the puppet more than she did and so I gave it to her. Isn't it something to find something so simple that can help with the moment of sadness or maybe a career? I had totally forgotten about it until I was going thru them.

The first puppet I got was given to me and it was from down under, a koala. I had a good laugh and now I feel better. I find sometime the simple pleasure of life are better than a medicine or a pill. In retirement I find I can get bored if I'm not careful. I do have say I miss being with children so when I get better I am going to have to find something to do with children. Now that I'm older the good news if I spend the whole day with children, I can return home to a very quiet house. The best of two worlds. Us adults need to remember we need to play too, then take a rest and continue to work on recovery. Sandy take care. :friends::flowerysmile::doggieshmooze:

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

What a lovely story Tash about your puppets.. especially the down under one :)

I remember when I was a very young child in the UK before coming to OZ, I used to love the Punch and Judy puppets shows at the beach - you brought back happy memories for me too Tash, thanks honey, lots of love xx

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Hi Tashia,

Thanks for reminding us we need to play, even as adults! I'm always looking to find that "balance" in life, now if I could just remember what play is! I think anything that might distract us happily from our hips and aches and pains might qualify. Glad to hear from you.

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

I play all the time! With my computer (games and things), with my cats, just stuff!

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

I play on BS at ridiculous hours early in the morning....

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Hi Tashia, sorry about the transportation to your classes. But hey - as you say you might just learn something. At least you will get out and about.

Your soreness might be from the trip out. That always a major energy drain and certainly doing things you don't normally do can make you sore. Glad you are resting today!

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Thank you all for the support, I really need it today. I'm still in knee deep with boxes and not any pictures on the walls yet. I know moving and setting up a new place takes time but i finding that I thought I was all finished with the house but I find for some reason not all the alam account didn't transfer right and I'm still responable for it. I know it sounds such a little thing upset me but I wan't to have everything done with it so I could move on. I'm sure the people that got the house would like to have everything closed too. I've got most of my stuff animals all gone thru and a lot of them will need a new home. I heard that the arm forces are needing stuff animals for the children in foreign places so I will contact to see if they want them. The stuff animals are in good shape in fact look new and I want them in the hands of children that need a bear to hug. I need to get the Christmas decorations all in one place and go through them but some are heavy and I don't want to hurt myself. We are having a very cold, raining day and we need it so bad. I need to focus on the positive so I will say the spot that was numb after surgrey is getting better. The spot is getting smaller and I'm starting to feel more in that area. Everyone take care.:doggieshmooze::eeew:

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Tashia, moving house is so unsettling. Then you have your knees to worry about! Please wait on the heavy stuff. Get someone to help with that. You don't want to set your recovery back!

Sounds like you have a good plan for your stuffed animals. Thanks for reminding me - I need to do the same!

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Well I'm back again today has just been one of those days. A very long one to say the least.. I have tried to come up with some ideas for the apartment to make it feel like my new home and :ideaIPB: into my head. :wow2 if it works it will be great, also another idea of how to display my lighthouse collection came into mind and Becasue its not doing heave I might be able to do it. :wow2: I was just sitting and without thinking about moving my hips I was able to bend a way I use to all the time without Pain. Also my right knee. :happy dance: without pain Thank you for being open whenever I need to share something. Well again I'm going sign off for now. All the talk of food is making me hungry and the bad news I don't have much food in the house so I will have to take care of it tomarrow. Tashia :doggieshmooze::yes 4:

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Tashia, if you are wanting a new home for your stuffed animal collection you might also try contacting your local police or fire department. Officers and firemen often carry a stash of stuffed animals to give to children they find in a trauma situation - domestic abuse, home fires, etc.

Another option would be a local shelter for battered women and their children. These shelters are always in need of things like that.

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

Sounds like you are really moving forward Tashia! That's great. And no more pain. Real progress!

I'm so happy BoneSmart has help you get on with your life. Have a great day!

Re: New hip 13 September - feeling sad

But the good news it was quite a long time without pain and that is Real progress. That Jaycey for your comment. I am now going to take my medicane and get to bed. Another day has begone. Take Care. Good night:doggieshmooze::sleepz:
