Revision TKR Story of My Knees by RestAssured: Pt 3

Sonja,
(Trying to inject a bit of humor) Maybe you should sit on your ice packs????

Thanks Rose! :rotfl:

When you make my outfit, perhaps you could include a "flap in the back" so I could "keep myself on ice!" :happydance:

Oh, by the way Miralax really does miracles for me!

If I could just keep more food down, I'd be great! I drank 2 swallows of Gatorade at PT today, and 15 minutes later, I was visiting the loo. I bought some Smart water today with electrolytes to see if it will stay down. So far, nothing except for a few bites of a burger, and I think it was the grease that made it slide down has stayed.

Wow, glad the miralax works for you. So sorry to hear that the Gatorade didn't seem to stay with you. :sorry: maybe the Smart water with electrolytes will help. I remember when the kids were little giving them pedialyte, probably the same thing. Hang in there friend! :console2:

Smart water has zero calories. It is just enriched with electrolytes. My hubby was trying really hard to find something he thought I could eat. He and Ronnie brought home some smoked chicken. I thought it was a great idea at the time.... I am so tired of not eating, or eating only to have whatever I eat come back up! My energy is draining, and I have a group project that was due last night that I am forcing myself to do tonight! Just got back another 100, but I won't count on this one being anywhere near that!

Well I finished my group project, now I am going to take a pain pill and go to bed and sleep hopefully. I have been in the restroom more than ever before the past two weeks. I should set up a cot in there! :heehee:

I think I did ok on the group project; I just don't remember what I wrote!:happydance:

Sonja,

I'm so sorry you are having such troubles. You don't need "smart water" we all can tell your smart, what you need is something with a name like "so stupid it can't find it's way up water" that will stay down. Or maybe "miracle water" that cleans you and cures you and helps you sleep all in one.

But seriously, if you haven't been able to hold much down and now have loosend the cork with Miralax you are gonna be major dehydrated. Can you get in somewhere for IV fluids? I think you would feel much better if you did. It was the best choice I made to go to the ER for treatment. The best treatment I got was IV FLUIDS and IV ZOFRAN and tons of WARM blankets because the IV Fluids made me cold.

Hmmmm, I guess I should go and see my PCP. Seriously though, I know he will bring the doctor on board that I said I would never let touch me again! I keep thinking, if I can just find something, anything, to stay down, I will be ok! I guess I could travel to the ER where my doctor is that is going to perform the procedure. I will talk to Pat ans see what he wants to do. I am miserable and he probably would be willing to take me soon!

Oh Sonja. I'm so sorry that you have to go through all this. Dehydration can make you feel pretty miserable too. Please take care and get some help before the procedure if you need it. I think going to the investigating doc's ER is a good idea. Might speed things up and at least get you some relief. Take care, we're all sending positive vibes your way.

Well, I finally found something that stayed down. The Smart Water, thanks ChrisO for the compliment, and a large milkshake! :happydance: I am feeling better, but last night my husband asked me why I had black circles all the way around my eyes! He said it looked like someone punched me in both eyes! I'm not sure why that is occurring because I think I'd remember if someone punched me! :heehee:

About 10 minutes after I posted this, I found out I was wrong! My hubby and I went out to eat tonight, and I knew it wouldn't stay down, but I was so hungry, I tried to eat anyway. Well, such is life right now.

Hello Everyone!:)

The muscle on the side of the knee is doing much better! It is helping out more when we are doing exercises, even though I am in a brace. The kneecap is not trying to pull to the side as bad as it was and so yesterday was a break though for me in that respect!:happydance:

I know that winter will be here before we know it, and so the knee and I have been talking. I explained that I have to ride on a snowmobile to pick up my friend's when they fall. I sure hope I don't have to pick up any spare parts, as that might be a "little messy!":heehee:

Yep, just keep sending the bubble wrap to BJ's house! She told me she has LOTS of room for it so don't be shy about sending EVERY scrap all of you Bone Smarties can find! :happydance:

Chris, my Mom is coming to pick up her dogs and inspect her child, tomorrow. When she called from Alaska was the day I had fallen because her dog wouldn't get out of my way! Fortunately it was on carpet, so the Knee was swollen but didn't take a direct blow.

When Mom called, I was at PT with Katie, and I kept asking about Alaska. When she asked if the dogs were behaving, I sais oh yes, and she said how's your knee, and I said "oh fine!". She kept repeating both questions. I am not a Mom but it seems uncanny how they always seem to know when something is up! I am 47 and she still seems to know.

I tell my son I have eyes that can see him anywhere. He says, "No you don't!" with uncertainty. "OH yes I do. I got them when you were born." I tell him. He is 10. I hope they still work when he is 16. Given your apparent skill at being in the wrong place at the wrong time your Moms eyes and ears must be "Super hero" strong. C

Apparently they are, because she always manages to call me the same day I mess up! So Chris, tell your son, you will know what he is up to for the rest of your life! :rotfl:

One thing that she doens't know about is problems with eating. I am sure Mom and I will be having quite a discussion, as I try to avoid her questions, and find out more about her cruise. After all, I have it figured in my head and I only have 8 and 1/2 days to go. I certainly won't starve, and I am drinking a lot of fluid to replace what leaves. :happydance:

If for any reason your urine output falls off GET YOUR BUTT TO THE ER!!!! Last thing you need is kidney failure. After days of this dont you think Your body is screaming at you for attention? I'm concerned that you are deferring Medical evaluation for something that could be serious.

You have been through enough to know your own body, I hope you are right to wait.

There is that old saying ... Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Sonja, I have to agree with Chris. I think you're fooling with something that could be serious and you need to go to the ER. Just as soon as you post your medical diploma, I'll agree to let you diagnose yourself. Until then, hon.....you need help. Please don't delay. Dehydration is nothing to fool with and it can have serious consequencces. RestAssured

You are right about the old saying! Ok, ok! Thanks Jamie and Chris, when Mom gets here in the moning I will fess up and I am sure she will load me up and take me to the ER in her town. That way, I am where the doctor that iwas going to do the EGD next week is and he can see me sooner! Will that be ok?

Okay....sounds like a plan. BUT.....if anything changes between now and then about how you feel....GO!!!
