@Josephine Ok, I'm bad! I'm just trying to find the fine line here on trying to get healed. I guess LESS IS MORE! By the way, your finger waving at me is pretty cute. I got it! Thank you!

@scottfamilyman , my PT tried to give me clamshells this week and I just ignored him. And the stretching the leg off the table is really unnecessary. Stick to the BoneSmart mantra for awhile. Things should settle.

@Jaycey :) Hi! Ya its just that my tendons and muscles get so darn tight and sore, that I feel that I need to do this type of stretching. Ya I guess walking is probably the safest thing. My other hip is gonna need to be replaced as soon as this one is healed. I guess I just want everything done like right NOW. Thanks for the good advice. I'm listening! :) Take care! :)

Hi, anyone out there have issues with hip flexor tendinitis? Just won't go away! :( Any suggestions! 5 months out almost now. I need to getback to work. Please help! Thanks!

@scottfamilyman ... I have added some words from your question to your thread title in the hopes that will direct people to you that have had this problem. If you have specific questions about something in your recovery, you can always alter your title like this to draw people to your question.

Hi everyone! Its been awhile since I've chatted here on Bonesmart. Ok, it's been about 8 months out now since LTHR. The hip feels good, no clicking or popping! :) It seems that I have developed hip tendonitis. I've been dealing with this for the last 3 months. I have severe burning and stinging in my groin. At the beginning of my tendinitis, my PT said I still need to stretch and lightly do exercises. Well, I'm at that point now where I'm not doing any of that for last 4 weeks. I still have real bad stinging and burning in my groin. I think I was pushed to hard or I over did it. It's been miserable! :( Am I right to say that I shouldn't do anything until all my burning and stinging have subsided? Should I stretch lightly even though I feel that I may be making my micro tears in my tendons worse or like I said, JUST DO NOTHING AND REST? Anybody or anyone, please advice me as to what I should do. Thank you, Scott :)

@scottfamilyman If it were me I would back off everything and let your poor tendons settle. They have obviously been working too hard. Let's tag @Josephine and see what she advises. Does icing help at all?

Scott, I made a post with my charts and everything and decrying the use of clamshells, etc., then found we've been through all this back in February! BUt don't know where you got the idea about micro tears - I don't think that happens. It's just chronic inflammation that is spreading itself around other adjacent muscles and ligaments.

So my only other bit of advice is that you a) do no exercising at all (as I said previously) and then go see a chiropractor.

@Josephine , Hi! Yes I listened to your advice while back. After that I did feel alot better. Just seemed like my PT was pushing me a lil too hard! :( Nows it's caught up with me. I thought that with my tendons being so stretched out that I would have alot of micro tears. Isn't that what's causing the burning and stinging so bad? I will absolutely do nothing. Just little bit of walking my dog in the park, ever so slowly! Thank you Josephine!

I think you underestimate the chiropractic practice. They deal with the whole body, not just the back. My chiro treated my tight hamstrings and calf muscle during the last year, my shoulders ongoing and even issues in my left foot! He also treated my cat once (there are veterinary chiropractors)!

He has a great big chart in his room like this

I thought that with my tendons being so stretched out that I would have a lot of micro tears. Isn't that what's causing the burning and stinging so bad?
No it's not. It's just inflammation which has gone from acute to chronic

I have been making steady progress for 6 months. I was not a big fan of PT or even 'pushing myself'. I strongly believe in doing what feels good. I have made recent progress with leg extensions. I started with 20 reps of 65lbs 3 x a day 4 days a week. It is now week 5 of this regimen and today I did reps of 58, 56, and 52. I simply took something I could do and built off it for what's been 6 weeks now. Slow steady and simple.

Here at 6 months I am beginning my golf comeback with trips to the range. I still avoid lateral movements until i have better strength throughout

@kfenn , Hi Kfenn! I'm glad your doing better! :) I have that severe tendinitis problem. :( With this kind of problem, you just can't do any type of exercises or stretching. It hurts real bad. Its debilitating and frustrating! For now, I have to do nothing. It's cabin fever all over again. Thanks for your support and take care, Scott

Sorry my post read the way it did. I just meant to state to do what feels good regardless of how it may seem to professionals, and others. Icing and resting may feel good, so that may be the basis of your behavior you prescribe to get better. No one knows you better then you.
While many others were reaching milestones and pushing things, i sat back and took my own time. Esp as a young 42 year old who has been competitive in sport and fitness, being patient has been great for me. No mreal setbacks or issues aside from some pain med things.
So just do what feels good, bottom line. That was my message if not expressed that way. Its all about you!!!
