There is very little you will not be able to do once you are healed fully as I keep finding things that I could not do before seem easy now....knelt down to find something under a chair and got up with ease......the MUA will be great tomorrow and your recovery will change for the better ....

Vinny

If I have read your posts correctly, you will be going in for your MUA tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery. Do post all that was involved.

@Spencieca Laura healing thoughts your way...when is the event ? Which hopefully is a nonevent

Vinny

Sending good vibes your way, Spencieca!

(I'm not getting alerts either, or they're delayed....?)

Thank you everyone..procedure was a couple of hours ago..doc told hubby that there was a lot of scar tissue and he got it to 123..woke up crying. .part pain and part anxiety..the gave me more pain meds via IV right away..have ice on it now and still some pain..no nausea which is huge so I'm a head of the game already...glad I had it done..PT everyday this week starting tomorrow so back on pain meds around the clock and ice and elevate..thank you Everyone for the positive thoughts and kind words..means a lot...will report more this evening once I get home and settled..

Wow 123....just go thru the rest ice elevate meds routine and you will be fine Laura. Glad this is over for you. Stay strong, Maggie x

Thank you SZ♡ how are you doing today? I'm home now and my eyes are beginning to get very heavy. I can already tell a difference in the tightness in my knee...doesn't feel like rubber bands are preventing the knee from bending . well eyes are just about closed now..chat and update soon...

You made it through, now rest and move forward. Good vibes to help you rest well

I am very happy that the MUA went as it was supposed to. I no longer have the tight rubber band feeling going across the knee..I could tell yesterday that is was much more loose. The knee seems a bit more unstable this morning, but I think that might have to do with the swelling...Staying on top of the pain meds, back on the Oxy IR and Oxy ER..Will transition to Norco this weekend..wanted to make sure that I have enough pain control with having PT everyday for the rest of this week. I was pretty anxious before the procedure, even began to cry a bit before they put the IV in...I was less anxious before the TKR..The anesthesiologist said that they were going to put me in a twilight sleep and that I would feel some pain but not remember it...that was a HUGE OMG! I told him that he better knock me out good so I don't feel ANY pain or I would most likely be a very unhappy patient! I was even upset while they were putting in the IV, which is something I am pretty used to...I remember them giving me some "happy juice" in the IV and then I remember going from one bed to another in the OR..that was the end of it..I woke up in recovery and I was crying...I didn't have a lot of pain last night and was able to sleep...I am back on the CPM machine and back to using the walker for a little bit..I want to concentrate on walking correctly and feel more stable...the moral of this long winded update is that Im glad I did it!

Hi! I'm so glad it is over with for you! Sounds like you are starting over again but with the plan for faster progression. Keep that knee elevated, iced and take your pain pills. Im eager to hear how things go from here.

You are on your way now Laura....funny I like that happy juice....I did not remember anything either......slow and steady now ....

Vinny

My, that is a great report. Hope he did knock you out enough. I remover you said you woke up crying before. I would hate to hurt so much, I'm allergic to pain. Glad it is over. I noticed my knee is looser when swelling decreases. Welcome to the other side of MUA. Now if I can get enough ROM to avoid it.

Hi Laura. How are you feeling today? My tip re gait is to walk like you are marching...right knee raised then step fwd...it stops that side swing motion. Heres to you my friend, Maggie x

This might help with correct walking, too:

@Celle that is a great illustration. At PT yesterday i was complaining about tigjt calves...answer take bigger strides to get a calf stretch with each ster. Must admit to short strides when i have pain or am tired
