Yes, the little girl decided to come to this world on the 16th... she is healthy and so cute :)

Congratulations! Granddaughters are awesome! Merry early Christmas, hopefully you.ll get to see her soon. :christmas-carols-smiley-emoticon:

Congrats on the new addition to the family! I wish you could travel also to meet the sweet little babe, but that time will come.

I'm sorry this hip recovery isn't as easy as the last, hopefully that changes soon and those pesky spasms ease also.

So you're going to be "batching it up" this weekend while your wife is out of town. Don't be getting too wild now, lol. :happyfeet:

Wishing you all the best at your appointment tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. Have a great Thursday!
@RinTinTin

Congratulations on the new baby granddaughter!! She was a little impatient, eh? That is so exciting and I am sorry you aren't able to go meet her yet. But just think of how strong you will be and able carry her after you are properly healed.. such a nice thought.

I am glad to hear that lefty seems a bit more flexible and is beginning to show signs of hopefully settling down. Those weird spasmy things lasted for at least 4-5 weeks for me.. I hope yours end sooner.

You are from Canada, right so I bet you are a pro as snow ball fights but I am risking it.. hahaha

:xmas-snowball-fight-smiley-emoticon:
Glad to see your update.

The hip recovery is no longer my primary concern. It's the horrible pain in my right shoulder. It's so bad that the Oxycodone HCL and Tylenol are not helping at all.
I am afraid my long time rotator cuff issue in the right shoulder is bothering me. I am afraid it's been triggered by me applying my full weight on the walker when moving around.
According to my daughter in law, the little one came right on schedule... the doctors estimate was a bit wrong :)
The spasms in my lefty are still annoying but I can live with that right now.
Not looking forward staying at home on my own but I do have many friends who are just a phone call away to come and help if needed.
Thanks for the nice words
:)

I'm so sorry. That sounds miserable. I hope you're able to get it under control so it's not so painful. Wishing you comfort. :console2:

I am really sorry about your shoulder pain. Have you tried heat. Seems like it might be strained muscles. The walker can really do a number on hands, arms, and shoulders. Hope you find relief soon @RinTinTin

Well shoot @RinTinTin I am sorry to hear that. That's always a concern during and after surgery, flaring up another body part. It sounds very painful.
Will you see a Dr about it and see what's up?

I tried heat but made the pain intolerable. Watched some youtube videos and most of them suggest applying cold to calm the inflammation. I tried that and at least it numbed the pain for some time.

I overused my rotator cuff at the gym and underwent coupe months of PT in the past.
This time it was not the gym... but the way I use the walker to move around and apply my whole weight on it.
Of course... this is my self-diagnosis. I hope it's not something worse than that.
I took Naproxen anti-inflammatory pill and that took care of the pain for now.
I am seeing my OS tomorrow for my first post-op checkup and staples removal. I'll mention that to him and se what's his opinion.

Oh good,, that is good timing. So glad to read that the anti inflammatories helped with the pain.
You and your body have had a lot to contend with this year. :console2:

So sorry to hear your shoulder is rearing it's ugly head. Happy the naproxen is helping, would use that as needed and continue to ice. Let us know what the doc has to say.
:ice: :banana-santa:

Saw my OS on Friday and had my staples removed. Everything looks fine. My OS is happy with the X-Ray, not concerned about shoulder pain (he confirmed it's from the way I walk with the walker), explained the twitching in my thighs is from the cut muscles that are healing and said it will go away soon.
My next follow up appointment is in 6 weeks.
I keep walking, icing and resting... I am doing PT exercises but not in excess.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Slow and steady. Sounds like a great report. Glad you got your staples out. Always good to progress to healing there. Especially glad shoulder pain is most likely temporary. Hang in there. Easier days coming soon.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

@RinTinTin

Good report from your OS and know you have to be feeling so much better with those staples being gone. Happy to hear the shoulder is due to the walker usage and is only temporary. I have faith that you're going to continue to progress nicely. It's going to be a great new year for you with two new hips!

Hi @RinTinTin
Yay for getting rid of the staples and loved when I got reassurance from my surgeon....now for those nerves, muscles, tendons, and soft tissue to settle.
I did have lots of twitches and restless legs...so do keep the faith.
Lots of healing happening.

I know back to back recoveries have been tough.
I'm wishing you a very happy holiday and a great 2020!

How wonderful your staples are gone. Another step in the journey. I hope your shoulder pain is easing. After a while I tried to put less pressure down on the walker as I moved around while still keeping my hands on it just to test out my abilities and ease up on my thumbs and wrists.

Have a peaceful day. :carols:
