Hi Just!

I am a glass full type person until I spill it on the rug!:rotfl:

I have been catching up on your thread! You are an amazing Mom and wife. Your husband is the chef, well so is mine. I love that about him! I do the dishes he does the cooking. When I came home from rehab, he did the cooking, cleaning and dishes. He would forget about the laundry though, so I dragged it to the laundry room and did it myself.

Thank You Sonja for your kind words....yeah I had to drag myself off to get the laundry done too cause the mountain was no longer safe, :rotfl:!

Yeah I say the glass is half full when you are filling it up but when you pour it out its half empty...lol!

A funny ouchie thing has been happening this evening....when I bend my knee it feels like the incision scar is tearing apart, I even had to look at it to make sure it wasn't splitting open...just wondering if anyone as any idea what that could be? And no, I am not overworking this knee like I did the last one...lol!

NO, No, no... Normal is just a setting on the Dryer!!!
That's what we say in our house!

Tessa - sounds like you're doing great! Except for that "tearing" feeling. I was glad to see other responses saying it was normal. I didn't have anything like that so I couldn't comment specifically.

And I'm of the school of thought that the glass is always full. If it's only half full of water (or some tasty beverage) the rest of it's full of air isn't it? :loll:

Ahhhhhhhhhhh so good to hear that 'something' is normal even if it is a tearing sensation in my knee...!

Well Lori, I was at the doctor this afternoon and she asked if I was there for my x-ray report? I'm like, ummm nooooooooooo :what:! It seems the the x-ray technician reported on my last left knee x-ray (Nov. 09th) that the hardware in my knee has slipped...well the funny thing is, I saw the OS right after those last set of x-rays and he said my knee (s) are looking really good....! I am going with the OS's take on it. I was just there to get a prescription renewed...lol!

I don't remember having that tearing owie sensation with the left knee...so it was a totally new thing for me, woo hoo! Hahahahaha!

How is your new knee doing?

I think I'm finally starting to gain some strength in the quad so it's beginning to feel like I'm making progress. It still hurts some, mostly the muscle-ache that you get with exertion when you're not accustomed to it. I wasn't very mobile before the surgery so everything went to pot, so to speak. Getting the muscle back is harder than I expected but it's nice to see / feel some improvement. :yay:

That's awesome Lori...I am not sure what everyone means when they say their quads are waking up? I am assuming because I don't know what that feels like or what exactly it means then I didn't have that issue. When you notice the improvement its a great feeling and knowing that you are one step closer to recovery! :egypdance:

Week 4: I went to just my second physio appointment yesterday and didn't have to do too a thing and I no longer need to go back. My right knee measured at 122 flexion and my extension has been 0 since day one. He tested my strength and its all good so I was released from physio....:happydance:! My right knee is bending more than my left one but the Baker's Cyst is holding the the left one I up I think.

What a different experience from the left pkr back in May...this time around I am not pushing it and when it hurts I stop, I don't try pushing through the pain. With the first one I thought that pushing through was the thing I should do and was uneducated in the all that matters in recovery, :heehee:!

I haven't been using crutches or any walking aids in 2 1/2 weeks, if my leg gets tired or hurts, I sit down for a few and let it rest...and no mowing the lawn this time either...:rotfl:! (Yay for autmn)!

I am having an issue atm with the inner thigh just above my knee, when I walk there is a burning sensation there, it started a few days ago but its much worse this morning, its right where the tourniquet was. Shouldn't that be like better by this stage of the game?

I was thinking about how well this knee is doing and so quickly, I have a few thoughts on this...lol! I did this with out much aid of any pain medication, did all the exercises, walking etc. but the difference was...when I was taking pain meds with the other knee I could push that little extra to get that better bend or that better extension but would suffer for it either later that day or the next day. This time around, I couldn't do that, once it got to the point where it hurt, I couldn't push farther I would just hold it there a little longer and stop. I wouldn't cause my leg to swell or my knee to suffer because I did push it for that little extra, so all in all it made it come around quicker and was less painful in the long run (if that makes sense).

However, even though this worked out for me it doesn't mean I would recommend this to anyone else EVER!!! I know that in the 1st few days I thought I was going to go insane from the pain and at times I was throwing up, whimpering and couldn't take anything without causing worse or more pain elsewhere.

All in all though, so far this recovery has been sooooooooo much better than the last one but would I want to do it again? Not for a long, long, loooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnng time and only if absolutely necessary...

I have a nasty icky yucky head cold , I said to my husband that I am sure I can feel in my knees, then I said if my knees would just start running like my nose I would be in good shape...:rotfl:!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, if we could only run as fast as our noses do sometimes, we would be in the Olympics! :rotfl:

RestAssured I would win in the Olympics today, the 100 meter sprint, a triathlon then finish of the day with a marathon and win all three with world record times....:rotfl::dancy::happydance:

Only if you hog tied me to a fence post! I would easily take the gold! :rotfl:

Or is there an event for extreme shyness? I would take the gold in that too!
