Just as a point of interest, Tessa, has the same surgeon done all your knee replacement surgery, the original and the revisions? If so, there's no way on earth that you should let him anywhere near your knee again. He's had his chance. Time to let someone competent fix it properly.

Yes, he's the one who did all the surgeries. For the record, the right knee hasn't had trouble and he did that one too, the partial.

Well, I think he's had his chance with this knee. Time to let someone else have a go.

I'm so sorry you have to go through all this! :console2: :friends:

I agree, find someone else to do it. You have been through enough already! If I were you I'd never trust the replacement surgeon ever again. I am sending prayers up for you right now and frequently.

@Celle and @sistersinhim when I see the surgeon in January sometime, I will talk about seeing someone else! I cannot take another failed tkr. Thank you to both of you for your thoughts on this....

You don't have to talk to the original surgeon about seeing someone else. He's likely to assure you *he* can fix it, but clearly he's shown he can't.

I agree with kneeper. You don't need your current surgeon's permission to seek another opinion. Instead of asking him - he may recommend one of his buddies - ask the surgeon who diagnosed the looseness to recommend someone. You need a surgeon who deals with problem knee replacements every working day, a specialist in doing revisions..

I think going to your first OS is a waste of time. Can the 2nd OS give you a referral?

I think asking the surgeon who diagnosed the loosening is your best bet for a referral. Chances are, he has handed over his revision practice to another surgeon, whom he trusts.

I had the arthroscopy done on my knee yesterday, there was a lot of scar tissue there not sure what else was found but it's feeling much better today, best it's felt in months.
Three orthopaedic surgeons consulted on Tuesday and went over the bone scan results again, they thought it best to have the scope, clean up anything in there that needed it and take a good look at the tibial component. So, I went in yesterday morning and had it done.
I go back to see the OS on the 16th, I will find out then the rest of the knee story.

I'm glad it's feeling better and hope this takes care of your problems. Looking forward to any additional information you receive on the 16th.

I hope this gives you some peace for your knee. Hugs! :friends:

Five days out from the scope on my knee, I'm not sure how it's suppose to be feeling? After the knee revisions, this didn't even seem like a real surgery.

Hope your knee is feeling better, take it easy and keep inflammation away.
