Do you thing that stem in the tibia will cause long term problems or does it get better eventually?
It will endded get better--slowly.

I wish I could bottle patience and sell it---I would be a gazillionaire!

Patience is indeed the key---it is something that you have, but you have to reach deep inside you to find it.

It can be one of the most frustrating aspects of a recovery.

@referee54 I do have some patience...some days more than others. Seems like I have been at this recovery for a very long time!

Yes, I agree, if you could bottle patience you would be gazillionaire!!

Ah, patience... That elusive characteristic which we all seek, many of us ( or is it just me ?) not too successfully...

I got some info about how much patience I need at my OS appointment today...over to my thread so I don't take this one off track:sneaker:

Just looking for a couple of thoughts on this? About 3-4 inches below the bottom of my scar I have been bruising, it's very sore to touch, I haven't banged on anything but it continues to bruise there. It aches at times and icing it doesn't work...! Wondering if this can be any way related to the revision!
Sort of in the shin area? I think that's fairly normal recovery pain.
(or at least I had it for a while somewhat randomly)
Is your knee/leg a barometer? I had some weather sensitivity at first. I seem to have that since I had to have a plate put in for a fractured wrist last spring. It seems like if my arm gets cold it aches a bit. I'm hoping that goes away by spring; the way the weather sensitivity with my knee went away.

Keep on keeping on, Tessa. You'll get there.
Remember, we're all with you on this journey. :friends:

@kneeper It hasn't been really cold here yet so I haven't had that ache in my knee. I used to when I first had the rpkr, I hope this knee gives it a pass.

The shin pain is usually in the evening when I have had a long day!

With weather changes, my knee is less sensitive, thank goodness.
Sounds like your shin pain is just the result of a busy day, as you heal hopefully it will go away.

@Pumpkln

Funny how it works, I said it's usually after a long day my tibia aches, today, it's been non-stop. I haven't done anything today...

When we get cold weather I will find out if the knee is sensitive.

Hopefully your knee will behave in cold weather. I have pin fleece in my pants over my knee in cold weather, it helps.

My mother used to feel the cold in her TKRs. She knitted herself a pair of knee-warmers. They looked funny, but they kept her comfortable, and that's what mattered.

Yep, just when you think you have it figured out it does a switch on you.

I am so ready to quit.... I have torn the LCL to go along with the torn MCL!

Just before my physio last Thursday I tripped in a mat leaving a grocery store. I told the PT what had happened so we did just ice and the (IFC?). My knee didn't get better it's gotten worse, anyways, went to physio again today, she really didn't like what is going on with my knee so she called for a consult...As a result of that I am back to doing only what's necessary, no exercises, just ice and elevation. This is crazy...I am trying to take care and do this right, I am so so frustrated right now!!!

(At least they did remove the mat at the grocery store...)

Yikes! Those mats can be dangerous. ((( @JustmeT )))

Oh no. I am so sorry. There is just nothing I can really say other than to pray for your recovery.
