WOW!!! That looks great @Poppet congratulations :happydance::happydance:!!! Very happy for you:happydance:. Only 286 pages? the manual for mine went into the 600's .

What a great picture of you and your wife @fulafoto. Happy that you were able to get away for a little R&R and congrats again on having your photo displayed:) Let me echo Poppet and Chrissie's sentiments "you have been here for so many of us and we are here waiting to cheer you on when your turn comes". Hang in there and keep smiling:) Joyce

Thanks @Poppet, Chrissie @Hoppy Nanny and Joyce @teakea66 for your kind wishes. It has not been a very good week for me this week. I have found that the pain has increased quite substantially and ended up at the hospital on Thursday night and they gave me another dose of Endone (Oxy to our overseas friends). Even after this I didn't get to sleep until 4 AM. On Friday I went to my GP and she has now put me onto 5mg morphine patches. I have to wait to see how these go because they take three days to kick in and if they cannot help ease the pain I will have to do up the dose to 10 or 20 mg. In the mean time I am taking my regular meds and icing most of the day and night. Thanks again for your support it does help enormously.

So very sorry you are suffering...must be awful. That date can't come soon enough. Fingers crossed!

Good morning Bill, @fulafoto - is there any improvement with the narcotic patches? Did you manage to get some sleep last night? .. Hugs xxx

Thankyou @psychteach and Ellen @shrinkette for your kind words. It has been a long road and we're not to the end of it just yet. As far as surgery I am still waiting for my original doctor to return from overseas (South Africa). Although I was offered an alternate OS when my surgery was postponed in April I made a decision (with the input of my GP, family and good friends) to wait for for him as he is considered to be the best in the area and my GP summed it up well saying if it was her hip with the history that my hip has she would wait for him to return.
I also considered that 3 extra months is a long time to wait but the rest of my life is even longer if things did not go so well.
I might sound philosophical about it all but at times when the pain peaks it is extremely hard to remain that way however I go back to a saying of my mothers "You made your bed - now lie in it"
On a more positive note I purchased a wheelchair this week and have had one outing down the street and plan on more when I get this pain under control. It really does re-open that wide open world that I have been missing for so long!

Hi @Poppet - yes I think they are kicking in. I had a marvelous sleep to be honest - about 6 continuous hours with no toilet break even. This morning the pain is about a 5 which is terrific when compared with recent times! Thanks again xxx

One possible side affect I read about with the narcotic patches is weight loss - one can only hope I have this one :fingersx:

Oh great Bill, @fulafoto - I found them absolutely fantastic and the 5 Mg seemed to do the trick for me. Wow six hours continuous sleep! - that is awesome for you mate! And yes, I did lose a little weight whilst on them - great side benefit! - have a good day Bill, it is getting colder and forecast for rain here.. To be expected it is the first day of Winter... xx

Giddy Bill, Like you I'm waiting for that date too, hopefully the end of June. I must admit the pain killers are keeping my pain at bay, i don't think I would be able to walk without them.

Nice sun shine here in NZ:loll:

Thanks again @Poppet and this morning looks like winter here as well - gloomy and overcast but a good day to spend in front of the box I think :yes!:
Gidday also @Mikeb and thanks for your message. Good luck with your date mate and glad those meds are keeping your pain at bay as well! Would be horrific to try and do without them wouldn't it? :yikes:

Thanks Bill, @fulafoto - promise of things to come :egypdance:

So pleased you are also getting some pain relief @Mikeb - please send some of that sun our way :)

Bill, sorry to read about your awful pain, glad the patches are helping and that you have wheel chair. I really hope your guy gets back from SA soon - he has urgent work to do!
Thinking of you and sending painkilling thoughts :) Gill
