TKR Pain 2 years after TKR

Last night I had the best sleep since my operation. I only woke once to go to the loo and didn't waken again till 8.25am. It probably was the Amitriptyline that helped me sleep. I didn't want to go back to taking them but oh boy it was so good to get a night's sleep.

Quick photo of knees. Had problem resizing photo to post so it's not the best of photos.

Doesn't look too bad. The other knee does seem worse somehow. Well done for the smart toenails by the way! Standards!

Thanks Spex10. Toenails needing redone. Asked hubby to bring me nail polish when he comes. That was my daughters that I pinched when she was down. Yep right knee is swollen more. Surgeon said before my op that right was more swollen than left even then.
How are you today?

Nice touch with the toenails... and you have an adorable little companion, I see?

Your knees looks good. I see what you mean about the other knee, though. It’s swollen and must be uncomfortable. :sorry:

Oops I missed the companion. I somehow thought you had huge wild creatures! My cat is bigger than that. Mind you he's not speaking to me today after I trod on his tail. That'll teach him to get out of my way. It's not as though he couldn't see my sloooow progress and clicky stick!

I’m glad you got a a good night’s sleep. Lack of sleep was one of the worst parts of recovery for me and now I think it’s the reason I cherish bedtime now. I didn’t sleep through the night for about 2+ months.

Lol Spex10 to my wild creatures. Poor cat getting its tail trod on. My dogs are terrified of my sticks and steer well clear of me.

@Mollymax Your Yorkie looks exactly like my daughter's Yorkie, except I think she keeps her dog's hair clipped a little shorter-maybe because it's so hot there in Arizona. When we were visiting her at Christmas, the silly dog kept my husband busy chasing it around the living room sofa in circles. It was the funniest thing to watch my husband chase the dog, then the dog would take a shortcut over the sofa and chase him. I even videoed some of it. I'm never going to be a dog person, but I will say that was fun to watch.

My cat is a Maine Coon. He's huge. A real gentle giant who takes his escorting responsibilities very seriously. I'm never alone!

@lovetocookandsew I bet it was funny to watch. Dogs can be very funny. We had a third dog, a very small toy Yorkshire terrier half the size of this one but he died last year. He had a tumor in his chest. He was only 8 years old. The one in the photo is called Molly. She has a habit of growing at the other dog - Millie. She also growls when getting a lead on. The funny thing was that when daughter was here with the baby he picked up on Mollys growling and after a couple of days every time he saw Molly he growled at her. It was so funny. He is 11 months and at the age of copying things.
@Spex10 I bet your cat is bigger than my little Yorkie was... Lol

I'll bet baby, dog and adults had fun with the antics. My daughter's dog doesn't really growl, but he sure likes to bark at everything.

@lovetocookandsew I love your new picture. Yes it was funny to watch. Oh those two of mine can bark that's for sure. Whenever someone goes past they bark and bark. Drives me mad sometimes.

I know these Goinometer aps may not be accurate but when I first tried it it said my ROM was only 68, then it went up to 71. Even if not accurate it shows tonight ROM at 80. So right figure or wrong figure it shows an improvement so I will take that. Should find out on Tuesday when I see the physio.

The doctor I saw last week mentioned it but said they really don't like doing both together.
The OS who did my RTKR does not do both knees at once, he said there is too much risk of infection; the OS who did my LTKR also did a friends knees both at the same time. I guess it's each surgeon's preference.
