Oh dear, @Jamesdean , I'm so sorry you've got post-op blues. I didn't want you to feel blue. I meant to cheer you up. Now the only sad song I can think of at the moment is "Why does my heart feel so bad" by Moby. My daughters loved it. Didn't actually experience hip blues and cabin fever post-op, but I know what the blues is like. I had the blues after I had my wisdom teeth out in my early 40s. That's very ouch, and I hate it when I can't speak properly. I don't smoke but 2 of my daughters and their boy-friends gave it up just a month ago. You will get better. Everything will be fine. Best - Constanze

@Constanze Guten abend. You did not give me the post op blues, it just happened as like everyone else I was making such good progress I decided to do too much just so my body could tell me to stop being an idiot and calm down. So I learn from my mistakes hopefully. Enjoy our conversations although as far as marathon running goes the only thing I did was a half marathon - will be eating the other half next week [Thats an old joke as a Snickers bar was originally called a marathon]. I will definitely see the no smoking thing through to when I am running around and hopefully will stop full time but who knows? Also I am going to need my right hip done fairly soon so have to factor that in as well. For sad songs there is a fantastic one called Shadows on the Hill by Troy Cassar Daley or of course September when it Comes by Roseanne and Johnny Cash. Only German hit I know is Neunundneunzig Luftballons???

99 Red Balloons go by. Takes me back to the 80's, lol.
Hope tomorrow feels brighter than today!
We're here for you. :console2:
@Jamesdean

Luckily I didn't fall off my guitar and break my recliner
:rotfl:
Yes there are worse things.

Now if only I can find someone to support me in my non smoking, yep gave up day before op and still clean....
Oh my stars...that is great but it is no wonder you are in a funk.
Please keep it going...:beg:

I fell off the wagon within a few weeks of my BTHR and wish desperately I hadn't started back.
Terrible for bones!
Oh well, never quit quitting...I could use you for my inspiration so fight the good fight.

Narrowed it down to 2. Santa, will be bringing me either of these but not sure which to ask for:

How are you today ?
My mum dragged me out for long walk and just want to sleep now :loll:

That's a rough decision there. I am of no use when it comes to fashion though.

How are you feeling today?

@Cathippy Hi and many thanks for your messages. Glad you got out and about fresh air really good for soul, will be doing same at the weekend. Still not smoking and will see where it goes on my own, time to man/woman up.

@SwampHiker and thing. Not sure why I put up the two choices for t shirt, my best friend, said, you know which one you are going for anyway....its got to be Badass without a doubt. As far as fashion goes, I have about 10 hawaiian shirts, several pairs of shorts, a pair of brothel creepers, flip flops and thats about that.

What in the world are brothel creepers?
Sounds obscene :heehee:

My kind of wardrobe.
But please tell me no black socks included!:giggle:

Hope you're weekend is easy-peasy!

Other than having to wear socks at work 3 days a week I haven't worn socks for 30 years. If I wear the brothel creepers then pink and black hooped socks are nearly obligatory.

Have a lovely weekend everyone on bonesmart, recover well, stay patient (I am learning), relax, chill, ice, rest, elevate and think nice thoughts.....

:ice:Best thing you can do.
All temporary...so hang in there!:bored:

:rofsign:Well then, never thought about it!
At some point (later!) You will definitely need to get out more!:loll:

Hi and happy Sunday to one and all. Just a small question. I have a pain in my mid thigh operated leg when I try to walk with crutch and it is as if my leg does not want to bend at all at the knee. IT feels like there is no flexibility in my thigh at all. Also a bit of pain in operated leg on calf, behind operated leg knee and non operated leg knee if you can follow this. I had the thigh pain a few weeks ago after the physiotherapist made me do a bridge 10 days after my op but at that time was taking ibuprofen and the pain went. I did far too much walking without aids on Monday and Tuesday and am guessing its the reaction from that. I am currently on cocodamol but was wondering if I should maybe pop a couple of ibuprofen as well? As one of the foremost google doctors it is possible it could be coming from my back or is it due to new hip? Thanks.
