Keeping you both in my prayers...keep us posted and Janet, so glad this is a better time for you.

Well, it would be better if this groin pull/strain would go away! How long does something like this take to heal? Now I'm afraid to move again!

Anybody know?

Hi Janet,

I had a severe groin strain years ago and it took a long time to heal but it did. Recently, felt some tinges in my groin again so laid off PT, rested, iced and pain meds and it felt better in a few days. I think the trick is to make sure you don't irritate it more. Hang in there, hon.

Thanks. Been doing the same thing as you did. PT had me walk up and down the street even after I told her and I think we irritated it more. It felt ok at the time, but not after,,,

Next time I listen to my gut!

Hi Janet darling

Yep, hon, go with your gut feeling.. You know your body well, better than anyone else.

Does icing help?

Lots of love and big big hugs 

That 'strain' is nothing more complicated than post-op pain, my dear Janet. It will go away
a) when the hip is more healed and
b) when you take your pain meds! :wink1:

Thanks Jo. For a week now I've been alternating ice and heat and taking my pain meds every 3 to 4 hours. It was really bad for a while and I couldn't put any weight on it.

Of course, given my past experience , it really scared me :hate-shocked:. By today though it was pretty much back to where it was before it happened. I'll just be really careful with that hip abduction and adduction exercise.

I was in such bad shape before this surgery that I just got so gung ho doing the exercises trying to make up for lost time I suppose. Live and learn...I'll be gentle from now on.

Thanks again Jo.

Sandy, thank you :cat-kittyandsmiley:...

So glad you are feeling better, Janet. Isn't it funny how we give advice to others on the forum and then don't heed it ourselves, like taking things slow? Ha!Ha! real funny!!!! But glad you are going to take things slower now and we will get there...

Hi Janet, how is your weekend going?

Has the groin strain eased up?

lol, xoxoxxox

Janet, I'm glad things are turning back to the good for you! I can understand after all you've been through how any aches and pains would be worrisome.

Thanks Jamie. I just had another scare though @Josephine: or anybody else who's had it. I just got a really sharp pain in my upper side mid way down in the incision area. And I mean take your breath away sharp!

Anyone? I was just standing at the stove cooking. and turned to the table...not anything extreme at all...

Now I am doing my exercises and everything seems ok...:what:

Sandy, nothing happeneing this weekend. Made my Hersheys Chocolate Cake yesterday...How are you doing?

And pray what are you doing "standing at the stove cooking" and making "Hersheys Chocolate Cake"anyway! You are 3½weeks out and should still be resting. Your exercises are enough - nothing else, okay?

No wonder you are getting all these aches and pains!

Oh! I thought just a little cooking & standing was ok, no? I'm not lifting anything heavy. Ok, I hear you. Just my exercises!

Easy does it Janet. No extra stuff yet! Rest, ice, elevate and repeat. I know it is very tempting but you need to all that hip time to heal.

Good morning (Easter Monday) Janet

Chocolate Cake.... Yum, yum...

I know you love to cook, but how do we slow you down... Am I going to have to fly over there to make you....... Rest, elevate, ice and take your Meds?

No long sessions standing at the stove and No sharp turning twinkle toes!

I am doing ok, enjoying the break. Thank you for asking 

I honestly didn't think I was doing too much. It's almost unavoidable as Bill is in a sling with a drain dangling from his arm pit. He is useless altogether.

Although the kids have been somewhat helping, they work and can not be here 24/7, you know? I am actually in better shape than Bill and thank God mine will heal with time.

I have no idea what lies ahead with him. We find out on Tuesday and I will have to call the OS to see if I can drive us there where it is my left leg. He can't drive as it is his eight arm! I just won't take pain meds that day until I get home after...

We really have no choice but to fend for ourselves. Since I am WBAT and have no restrictions, I guess I thought I could do more that I can...

Always something...

Ah well, that does make a difference. Sometimes a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do! :snork:

 WBAT?
