Re: This is my story

What can I say Janet! :cry4:So sorry you are dealing with so much. Hang in their my friend. This is only temporary. I know it seems like things won't change - but they will! You are one tough lady - and we are with you!

Re: This is my story

Morning Janet,

Love the name Lizzie Tish how did you come up with that name? I think our cats and dogs really move into our worlds then things change and we then become part of their world catering to all their quirky little ways. Love!

Sending you lots of love,

xxooxx

Re: This is my story

Is that you Sarah? Lovely pic! You too Julie...Welcome Back Jaycey and thanks, as ever, Sandy and Donna...I think I missed a few folks or threads too so DianeMarie and Billy, thank you too, and of course Josephine! Gee, we have grown sooooo much lately! Sorry if I've missed anyone (Haldox, just realized I left you out)...

Funny, Bill names everything and is really funny about it too. "Lizzie Tish" came with the name Sprout that just didn't work for Bill. She was his daughter Donna's cat before we took her. Donna's male cats were terrible to Lizzie so we adopted her.

Anyway, he kept calling her Lizzie and it stuck. I asked him where he got it and he seemed shocked that I had never heard of Lizzie Tish before! I think she was an actress or something...not sure really.

Then, we wanted a last name for her so he came up with Hickenlooper! I think it is the last name of a Governor of some state in the US.

So, she is Miss Lizzie Tish Hickenlooper!

We have come to find out that her original name was "Precious" which I feel suits her more than any of them...

Re: This is my story

I recieved my pre-op paper work in the mail yesterday and the procedure is called a "Hysteroscopy with polypectomy". I made the mistake of "Googling" it :hate-shocked:! Has anyone else had one? Now I am more scared than ever, given my history.

I have to get these issues resolved soon, especially with hip #2 feeling as it does now that I am off the other meds. I am now thinking that seeing the new OS spine doc on the 13th of February is a good thing as it will 1.) show her that it is my thigh/femur and not my back, and 2.) perhaps she will have some pull to get me in with the revision specialist there that I want to see.

I want his opinion as he seems to be the best one there but he shares an office with my OS so I am not able to see him as it is a conflict of interest for some reason...:hissyfit:

Sorry to be such a whiner lately. It's like when I get nervous I can't stop talking !

Re: This is my story

Oh, and now my hair is falling out! I wonder which of the meds did that?

Re: This is my story

Janet,

You are NOT whining! You are juggling lots of stuff and writing them down helps us to get our brains around what we are considering. And clearly, putting it out here for this group allows folks to weigh in on new data and factors that you raise. So....no worries.

I wish I had more to offer you...but there are far more knowledgeable and experienced folks than me to provide guidance...Keep us posted.

Re: This is my story

Z, you have been extremely helpful! Especially with the info about Dr. Murphy! Believe me, there are so many avenues to take, that it can be mind boggling. Unfortunately, having had things go wrong the first time, I have so many choices now that it is overwhelming!

I know it will all fall into place. I just have to get thru each of these isses one at a time. I start to think about all of them and really get myself worked up. Thank God I've got all of you wonderful people to turn to.:grouphug2:

Re: This is my story

Sorry to be such a whiner lately.

Janet

Don't worry - you could never be considered a whiner. You give out so much help and support to others and yet you are suffering far more than most of us. I think it helps to write down your problems and you have a willing audience here to listen and re-assure you. A trouble shared is a trouble halved my mother used to say and I'm sure she was right.

If you tell your surgeon next week about your hip issues they will be extra careful with you. It's in their interests as much as yours that they treat you gently.

It also sounds like the sooner you can get No 2 hip done the better. You can't really exercise No 1 properly while No 2 is giving you grief. I've got the same problem so roll on 1st Feb.

Very best wishes.

Roger

Re: This is my story

Dearest Janet! Oh, please don't ever think you are whining. I, too, get all worked up and nervous when medical issues are looming. I also Google everything and for me I have learned I am better off when I don't! It just gives me more to worry about. Try and stay calm and take it one day at a time (hey, sometimes I take it one minute at a time). You are a precious gift to people on the forum (we can call you precious as well as your kitty). I wish for you peace and comfort and any nurturing you can do for yourself.

Re: This is my story

Well, after having a good cry for myself out of pain and frustration, I feel better :th_heehee:. I cn't believe I am having so much pain but it figures. Stopping all the meds at once was crazy but necessary for the procedure.

Thinking back, the same thing happened two years ago for my THR! I just didn't think this was going to be as big a deal as it is :hate-shocked:!

Yes Diane, I have already gone over all of this with the surgeon about the bad hips, but hip #2 has gotten so much worse since I met with her two weeks ago it is amazing!

My saving grace here is that I was the OR's surgical buyer and I knew all the nurses and aids very well. Hopefully the same staff is still there as I know they will take very good care of me.

Now there is something positive :thumb:!

Ok, Monday I must call the OS and get the ball rolling for #2. I'm done suffering...let the games begin!

Re: This is my story

Re: This is my story

Hi Janet.... No, I want to call you 'Precious Sis' because that is what you are to all of us xxxxx

I do hope answers are on their way, sorry you are in pain going off the Meds ready for the procedure, soon that will be another challenge you can put behind you.

You mentioned about your hair falling out.... I have been losing heaps since my surgery. I have baby fine hair to start with and am apprehensive about even combing it.

I spoke to my GP and she said 'don't worry, it will take six months to stop falling out' - OMG. She said when she read the report from the hospital it was all the drugs that i was given in ICUI thought maybe I should go super short.. But not really a fashion statement for me with my job!

Hang in there Precious Sis, we are all hovering around you xxx

Re: This is my story

Janet thank you for the nice compliment about my profile picture it's my original one from before my surgery! I need to take a new picture I had my hair cut short today they took about about 8 inches of hair!

Your Bill is talented that is a fabulous name, love..never would I have thought of those types of unique names. My girlfriend had to name Miles for me.

Your in my thoughts especially the next few weeks with all your upcoming plans!

Lots of love,

xxooxx

ps - you've never come across as whining just sharing the big things you are dealing with, my hope 2012 brings lots of good conclusions so you can worry about getting stronger, better and not dealing with any type of pain!!

Re: This is my story

Oh My Sandy! You just brought a tear to my eye :cry4:! My mom's name was Sis! Well, she was Elizabeth, but everyone called her Sis! I think the pain and the transition of coming aff the meds is making me super emotional. That is really special :friends:...

I guess it's a good thing to get off the drugs though(well, some of them anyway ) as I have fairly long hair and :hate-shocked:it's scary looking on my hair brush and in the shower! I don't think I'm ready to go shorter either...but my NP did say that Predisone is a steroid just like what is given for chemotherapy to cancer patients...so there ya go!

Sarah, it is so nice being able to put a name with a face finally! Thank you! And Bill is really funny with the names he comes up with for people and things. He has me in stitches sometimes :loll:...he just has a way of appying them that is really comical...

Some are a "bit naughty" which makes them all the funnier. Not vulgar at all, just, well, funny!

Re: This is my story

Oh no, didn't want to make you cry :(

But, you are our precious Sis :)

It will be great for you when you are finally all better Janet... You are doing it so tough..

Sending much love and hugs xxxx

Re: This is my story

Hi Precious!

Doesn't a good cathartic cry sometimes help so much. I find that after a good cry I always feel better...maybe I should cry everyday! Hang in there and I've sent a prayer up for you!

Janet, so sorry that you have to go through all this - but maybe there's light at the end of the tunnel.
