Re: This is my story

Hello Janet,

This sounds like it could fix your pain, i really hope so you've had such a long journey. Are you feeling better and has the shingles healed? I know sometimes it can take a while.

Sending you tons of love!

xxooxx

Re: This is my story

Hi Janet

Another piece to the puzzle, let's hope this is the last piece for you and you become pain free.

I do hope you are recovered from the bout of shingles, they are very painful, I know myself.

Sending lots of love xx

Re: This is my story

This is good news Janet! I had very good results with my spinal injections. Fingers crossed!

Re: This is my story

Thanks guys. I am so exhausted from the shingles and i think from the added medications that I have. My BP has still been very high so now I am on 3 different meds for that as well as a fluid pill.

Add in the Percocet, Cymbalta, etc etc, and I have no energy at all. I would be able to eliminate so much of this if the pain was gone.

As for the shingles, pretty much healed but nasty scaring. They were terribly painful when the blisters broke, but really not much nerve pain or itch this time. The first time I had them I ended up in the ER for a pain drip it was so bad. And, nobody could figure out what was wrong with me.

I NEVER seem to have the "usual" symptoms for anything :DOH:which makes diagnosing so darn difficult! I still can't believe the other OS had the results of the MRI but that was just before I went into the hospital so everything got messed up, appointments cancelled, etc.

I was supposed to have a D&C this summer as well, and forgot about that , as did the Gyn doc apparently. So, Monday I have to revisit that situation :skeptical:...

I certainly keep these guys in business :th_heehee:!

Re: This is my story

Gosh Janet. I hope that the nerve treatment works. Kind of reminds me of my 15 month earache that they said was referred pain from TMJD, but was a cracked tooth. Still have frozen jaw, but besides the popping and fear of choking, not in pain. Will indeed drive one bonkers. :sigh:

Re: This is my story

I'm so pleased to hear that you may have an answer to your thigh pain......it must be a relief. Hang on in there my friend (((hugs))).

Re: This is my story

Do hope they get busy really soon on sorting out that treatment Janet.
Love and hugs

Re: This is my story

Thanks all. I didn't hear back from the OS office on Friday so I will start making phone calls tomorrow but I maust say, part of me feels that the OS is passing the buck here. I suppose this could be nerve pain, but I have suffered from sciatic nerve pain in the past and did have to have disk surgery because of it.

This doesn't feel anything like it. But, I am willing to try anything at this point. Tomorrow I see the OBGYN surgeon to discuss, again, a D&C. I am just thrilled about that :hate-shocked:.

With my history, I shudder a the thoughts of any procedure now ...

Re: This is my story

Hello Janet,

Not been around for a while, so only just seen you have had shingles again! I think that is your poor body saying I am overwhelmed! Hope its the last time for you

Good news on the Mri scan though, lets hope the date comes through Pronto!

Much love Tanny x

Re: This is my story

Well here we go again. Awoke to God awful bone on bone on my right leg :hate-shocked:. This is exactly how it started exactly two years ago. ( Although I did get this feeling once before but not as bad and this was when I started this thread, I think.)

I have hardly been able to walk all day, and getting in and out of the car a number of times for OBGYN appt., errands, etc. it is not improving.

I think I am going to have to call the OS but I will wait to see if anything changes overnight. As of now, D&C scheduled for January 27...

Re: This is my story

I see a new OS at the Spine Center at the hospital that I had the THR on February first. It is a female OS and I am kind of excited about this. I wish there wasn't months in between each step here, but that's the way it goes.

I hope I am feeling ok after having the D&C on the 27th but I'll just have to take it one day at a time. I need to get this stuff done!

Also, I must have slept a certain way that aggravated my other hip as thank goodness it was ok when I got up this morning. I just didn't want to deal with that as this point. However, I know that day will come at some point...

Re: This is my story

Yeah....something good is going to finally happen. I know you aren't looking forward to the D&C, but you have had to put it off, so this year all will get done!

I love your kitty.

Re: This is my story

Janet,

You continue to hang in there and be such an encouragement to others while you are going through so much yourself. Hoping the new female OS will listen to you and have a new perspective to help you out. I remember after my 1st THR I didn't think I would have any other health issues, after all, enough is enough. But that isn't how our bodies are, so one thing at a time and we are here for you, be strong!

Re: This is my story

Truthfully? Mine is painful and aggravating, even disabling, but not life threatening, so I have to count my blessings as there are so many others in this world a lot worse off than me. Hopefully mine is fixable.

What's the ol' saying..."when life throws you lemons, make lemonade". :th_heehee:...Or maybe it's made me an ol' sourpuss, like Lizzie :blob5:...

Re: This is my story

An ol' sourpuss is the furthest thing in the world from what you are Janet. You are truly remarkable and every time I find myself having a whinge at any discomfort I've got I read your thread and give myself a metaphoric slap!! All this has got to come good for you sometime soon and we'll all be so delighted for you when it does.
Love and hugs

Re: This is my story

Good afternoon Janet,

I came on to read some of the post, and saw yours and tried to read as much as I could of what's been going on with you... I think I missed something though, didn't you go back to the first OS, and he was now taking care of you again? Or maybe he refered you to the woman OS? I tried to find where you may have talked about this but I couldn't find it, nonetheless I sure hope one of these orthopedics can and do help!!!

I thought I read that one of them thought it might be nerve impingement in your back causing the pain down in your thigh, did they do an epidural yet? Or is that why your seeing the woman OS next month? I know lot's of questions sorry, you don't have to explain... if you don't feel up to it.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon.
