Well done Janet the last time I cut my nails I accidentally stuck the scissors in my big toe and the blood was everywhere.

Re: This is my story

Your goodies look fabulous! Wish we lived closer! Congrats on reaching your toes :yay:

Re: This is my story

It sure is! I think I have been trying so hard to reach that foot in the past, it became an impossible feat! Today, I just didn't think about it.

Nah, something definately loosened up in there. There was no way that would bend before...today it just happened :yahoo:!

Re: This is my story

Oooooooooooo Janet those cookies and Hershey chocolate cake looks absolutely delicious!! Yummy Yummy Yum!!

Re: This is my story

Tomorrow it is going to be ginger bread cookies! And yes Billy, I, too, love shortbread! Going to try an almond shortbread cookie tomorrow (maybe) as well! Gotta fill my cookie jars :secretaea:!

Re: This is my story

Great Job Janet ...on your cookies, cake and toe nail cutting!!!

I would just die for some almond shortbread cookies. I love anything with almond, yummmmyyy!

Re: This is my story

Haven't been on here much as yesterday I was baking Bumpa's Oatmeal Raisin cookies,( best ever! recipe in Recipe Thread) and Nestle Toll House Cookies. Today is more cookie baking :rolleyespink:!

I will take pics and send you all more virtual cookies! Get the milk ready!

My outer thigh has been killing me with all the standing. It feels like a burning pain. I have visions of the tissue being shredded by a broken wire ...

I decided to call the OS to meke sure he got all my scans. I'll post after I hear back from him...

Re: This is my story

So the last report that he was waiting for did get to his office on Friday but he hasn't seen it yet. He's in surgery all day today. His secretary said she will get back to me tomorrow to let me know what he thinks.

Fingers crossed the New Year is the beginning of the end of all this :yes 4:!

Re: This is my story

Oh, another day of waiting! Poor you. I'm still amazed that you do all that baking when you are hurting so much. Oh, and huge congratulations on the toenail cutting - that sounds like a major achievement. I haven't been able to cut mine for months, and I'm ashamed to admit I pay to have them cut by the chiropodist rather than ask my nearest and dearest to do such an intimate task. How long did it take you to reach down there?

Re: This is my story

Jane, I have been attempting to cut them ever since my restrictions were lifted in summer of 2010. I kept hacking at them and getting painful, ingrown toe nails. So, I would either end up at the podiatrist or have a perdicure, and i , too would pay for it $$$.

I also tried to tie my sneaker yesterday and that was a first as well. I have still had the elastic shoe laces in them. I know I have lost a few pounds, so perhaps getting some of my belly out of the way helped ...:th_heehee:.

Nah, something definately has loosened up int there. it is almost 21 months Jane and truthfully, I NEVER expected it to happen again! See, the healing does continue :yes 4:!

Re: This is my story

I was spoiled to travel first class on the train last week where free snacks, meals and beverages (alcoholic and not!) are the order of the day.Well, they served this heavenly Madeira cake that had been made with ground almonds. yum yum yum!

something definately has loosened up int there

Re: This is my story

Dear Janet

We go away tomorrow for the Christmas week, then on Jan 9 to Ecuador. I still love South America, despite my accident in Peru.

This is just to wish you a relaxed and fun "festive season", and I sincerely hope that when I come back you will have posted some positive news. You might even be a Wire Free Zone by then.

As for me, I go back to Wrightington for more X-rays in Feb. If they show significant deterioration since the last lot in Nov, my consultant will want me to have a revsion.

Don't know how I feel about that. It's not that I'm scared of the operation, as such (famous last words?), but even though I do have discomfort I am really functioning relatively well. Do I want to throw all that up in the air when I might be facing a whole lot of new challenges?

Well, I dunno. It beats me!

Wishing you all the best. Let those cookies crumble!

Glynis

Re: This is my story

Thanks Glynnis. Happy Holidays to you, and hopefully the New Year finds better luck for us. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have the problems just disappear? Who knows?

I sure hope your infection disappears and the revision isn't necessary. I will say a prayer for you :prayer1:...Enjoy Ecuador!

Re: This is my story

Mmmmmmm Janet, I so want some of your cookies...

Do you think Santa delivers? I have been very, very good this year :):):):):):)

xx, Sandy

Re: This is my story

Yum Janet, all your baking looks delicious and how nice to receive as gifts. Pleased to hear that you are managing to get things done despite your pain. Just please be careful not to set yourself up for more pain though by overdoing things. Take lots of rests.......
