Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Janet...sweetie....I'm just so glad you're okay!!! My gosh, who would have thought THIS would happen. I'm so glad you got to the hospital and that they took good care of you. Please take things easy and watch yourself carefully the next few weeks. It sounds like you're going to be just fine, but take no chances....okay?

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hey Janet - I was so worried about you! Glad you are home and cleared of infection. Fingers crossed you stay that way. You take care of yourself! Please keep us updated!

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Wow Janet how scarey that must have been. I'm so happy to hear your hip is infection free. Take it easy now for awhile and get yourself better. Thanks to Linda too for the updates.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What a story! I know just how you felt as I also once had a severe cellulitis of my leg and I also was shaking and feeling sick for hours the night before with a temp of about 102! When I roused about 5am, my leg was bright red from the mid foot all the way up to mid thigh. My GP came round that morning and laughed! Said I had got myself the best case of cellulitis he had ever seen. Never did manage to figure out what caused it.

He wanted me into hospital for IV abx but I wouldn't go so it took me 12 weeks to recover on oral Gentamycin and something else all that time. And did my stomach react - oh brother! I was drinking pro-biotic yoghurt drinks twice a day. And pain killers! Every time I stood up it felt like my leg was going to explode!

But I was lucky, it all settled down in the end and is now just a distant memory! Hope it will be for you very soon. :thumb:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Right now I still have a very sore, red, swollen ankle. The thigh is back to normal color, but not size. I still feel dish raggy, but still flying around like a tornado!

I am off my HCTZ and can see a big fluid retention going on. Perhaps on Monday the GP will put me on Lasix. I sure need something!

Well, slowly trying to get back to normal, but feeling soooo abnormal, I think this is going to take a while. Bear with me folks! And thanks again for all of your kind comments and concern! (((((HUGS)))))

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We're right here with you, Janet. You always have our support!!! Things will even out here soon. Don't try to do too much of that "tornado" stuff, though. Some rest, ice, elevate would be good right now.....

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh Janet, welcome home again. Glad things are under control. Now take it easy and follow doctor's orders, ok? No tornado stuff.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I know ...I REALLY do need a bubble wrap suit :th_heehee:....

However, going forward, Celeste and Reigna will be here on Wednesday, so I must make a speedy recovery! If I behave myself for a few days , I'll probably be fine by Wednesday.

I feel fine now, it is just the fluid retention and the sore ankle that let me know that something is wrong. I will call my GP tomorrow though as she may want to see me after hearing what happened.

I definately need some sort of fluid pill. Don't think I'd be interested in the HCTZ again though. Never had the sun bother me so much, and it is the thyazide that causes the reaction to the sun.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Glad to hear you have survived Janet and these Mosquitoes can be really nast little blighters as my wife suffered at the hands of them a couple of years back when we were in Corfu.
Funny was in the local pharmacy in a shopping centre in Edinburgh and the wife popped into a chemist and overheard a woman who had suffered at the hands of Mosquitoes when abroad.
The pharmacy advised that a course of vitiman B tablets a week before you go abroad and take them while you are there helps prevent Mosquito bites.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yes but unfortunately, this was a fly that bit me and just as we sailed past Eagle Island, an island (basically a big rock!) that is home to hundreds of seagulls, and covered in seagull poop!

The flies around it are terrible, and you can't fish anywhere near it. Unfortunately, even though we weren't that close, my immune system was lowered because of the Prednisone that I was on...so the little creep had to single me out!

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Saw my GP yesterday who coincidently was on vacation last week and didn't know about this. She s VERY alarmed :hate-shocked:! Ordered an Ultrasound of both legs STAT! Had it done yesterday and everything is ok.

They took "10" vials of blood as she is testing for EVRYTHING, including Babesiosis and Osteomyelitis. Have to have an injection at 8:30 this morning and a bone scan at 11:30.

Unfortunately, I have had to cancel my plans with C4horses (Celeste) and her daughter who were coming here on Wednesday. I may be admitted to the hospital again for for IV antibiotics. This is VERY serious.

My GP took me off ALL HCTX and put me on Lasix to see if that will help the swelling. My right ankle and left knee are very sore and swollen. I am icing the knee right now as it is not happy at all doing stairs, up or down, and I am using my crutch! Any suggestions?

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hmmm...for whatever reason, this pic downloaded fine, yet the "boating" one would not. I will try that one again now...nope, there is definately something wrong on my end. Maybe the file is too big, but I don't know what to do about it.

No bother, I had a great time, even though that darn fly bit me :hissyfit:.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Blimey! you really have been through a lot.

I really hope everything gets resolved for you quickly

Best wishes

Dave

Janet you wee sole you just aren't having any luck at all, fingers and toes crossed something gets sorted out soon.:console:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well, the good news is that I really feel "OK" except for the swollen feet/ankles/legs/knees :th_heehee:...not funny, I know, but if I didn't laugh, I'd cry .

I don't know what the heck is going on though, but I know they are checking for Lupus!

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Great to hear you are feeling ok :scratch:but after all that has been going on you are going to need another holiday.

Oh O :skeptical:

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm so sorry, Janet! But it's good your doctor is on top of things and testing, testing, testing.....hopefully it will get sorted out soon for you.

Re: Thank you, thank you, thank you!
