Oh @muckingabout I had little fantasies about magical, unexplained weight loss and instead put on about 17 lbs. .. not fully sure how but I have 7lbs down and am determined to loose another 30 odd after ward. I know it shouldn't be a concern but at its another side effect of the operation.

I didn't have cramping or spamming. .. I have read of others having them so I reckon it's part of the nerve or muscle recovery.

I think every movement we make that is not in our very-limited current ROM is going to alert us. I've had some thigh tweaks going on this morning but our walk last night was longer and I had been more active yesterday so not unexpected.

So here's a question for the hippies who are a month or two out or more. What do you do about going places that won't meet the knees below hips restrictions such as church, restaurants, etc? Do you just bring a cushion? What about places that don't have handicapped toilets?

I brought a cushion with me to restaurants where I knew I would be sitting for long periods. Or if I visiting someone's home and needed for lower cars. I went to a musical and brought my fancy cushion. I got a store bag to carry it as it was slightly less conspicuous.

I used the ordinary toilet if no disabled one. I found some quite low here anyway but the bars make it easier to lower oneself. But in fairness at the beginning I didn't go somewhere unless I knew there was a disabled loo.

I dodged church... Catholic mass up and down, standing, sitting, kneeling.. narrow pews. I couldn't face it... still would struggle with that one.

I really miss mass. I'm hoping to go in 2-3 weeks. I'll just sit though and skip the catholic aerobics. I have a cloth tote bag I was thinking of putting a cushion into and then I'd just sit on the bag

@MajorHeidi,

I started with a pedometer as a means of trying to log my walking. I saw on a previous post you used fit bit and did a little bit of research but want sure I wa active enough to justify it! The pedometer wasn't great and often reverted to zero half through the day ...

Does the fit bit log your swimming or do you need to upload that?

Oh well.. swimming would be my main form of exercise.

You're awake very early!

Yes, I'm up and down quite a bit still.

I just made a foolish mistake. I picked at a cuticle and it's like a crime scene here. It took like ten minutes to stop bleeding.

Oh dear. Too much time to play with. My nails and hands had never been in better shape in the month after the op. No housework and cooking made all the difference. I had a pull on a cuticle recently and it hurt!
The nicest thing I got was a pedicure when I was about a month post op. It was lovely bar that I fell asleep during the foot massage! Great nap though...

Do! Just looking at polish on my toenails gave me a little lift given I was resting so much!

I'll have to get a pedi in maybe the beginning of sept. I have a hair appt then too.

So...how bad is the staple removal? Mine is tomorrow.

Also, I've been using the cane almost exclusively around the house. I'm going to try it outside in a little bit.
