Good morning, @muckingabout. Have you considered a title change for your thread----the BIG day has passed and is NOT today :heehee:. Just a thought. If you want a change and can't make it yourself, tag me and I'll change it to what ever you'd like.

Love those 3 am freak outs! I've only had a couple and no rationale for either. For me, the hardest thing so far has been to trust that everything is going as planned and to relax and let my body do what comes naturally.

So true, @beachgal On the bright side, other than than freak out, I had a good night's sleep. 12:30-3:00, 3:30-6:45 (meds), 7-8. Sure beats the 20-30 minutes at a time I was getting in the hospital.

Hospital sleep is a joke! Nonexistent! I was so happy to get home where I wasn't concerned about someone coming in at all hours to poke me! It was still a challenge to rest that first week. No comfortable positions. Still dealing with pain meds and tummy junk. So glad those worries are gone.

No kidding. I have many times wondered 'uh, oh, what did I just open up while moving'. Hope you have a splendid day of recovery and progress

@bottomshollow, if you don't mind, can you change my title to Muckingabout's THR Recovery Thread

No sense overthinking it:)

your thread title per your request, @muckingabout. Good title that will cover everything that comes up in your recovery without needing another change.

Sooo.... I'm in the emergency room waiting to be evaluated to determine if I have a blood clot... Sigh

And... False alarm. Just surgical swelling. Whew. I just couldn't take a chance, given my history.

On the bright side, I got downstairs fast because I had no time to be anxious and I walked and stood a lot because they had no chairs or wheelchairs that wouldn't break restrictions.

Also, the attending physician changed my bandages and I asked him to wash his hands again because he had left the room and come back without re washing or putting on gloves.

On a final note, I am probably the only ER patient of the night wearing batman pajamas and compression stockings.

Thanks for all your support.

Thanks, @grnplatebrd I'm not usually up this early, but my little dog insisted ;) I have a little bolster pillow about the size of a football that I have been keeping at my left (operative) hip.it keeps my ice in place and Spenser at bay. (He loves sleeping under the covers right up against me.

Somehow last night (I sleep like a rock) he weaseled his way under the covers between me and the pillow. So, his nose was by my hip, butt in my armpit and my right hip was hanging over the edge of the bed.

Crazy dog.

Why not make a fashion statement - so pleased it was not serious :)

@muckingabout, so glad things worked out. With THR #1, I had something happen where I ended up having to go back to the hospital, which is 1 1/2 hours away, and go through all this rigamarole. End of story I was fine, and it was a bunch of drama for nothing, BUT the relief I felt from knowing I did not damage the new implant was probably worth it.

Glad you are okay, slept like a rock, have stylish pajamas, and a heating pad in the form of a cute dog. :)
