TKR Mireille's RTKR 4 months

I had my lymphatic massage late yesterday afternoon and it felt great! She also did Bowen therapy on me. I felt so good, relaxed and loose. It's the first time I forgot about my knee. She taught me how to do self massage to help with the lymph nodes. You can find tutorials on youtube. It did not hurt at all, very gentle. When I woke up this morning, I was feeling muscles I hadn't felt in a while. I'm going back next week before I go on my trip.

So glad you had a great relaxing massage!!! What kind of an establishment did you go to? I would like to find something like that.

@RMasano I found an independent masseuse on the Internet. Checked out reviews and she had over 25 years of experience with extensive experience working on joint replacement patients. I usually go to a retail place like massage envy but decided to go a different route since I didn't want to hinder anything. Really glad I went. Feel good today and she was very helpful teaching me things I could do at home.

So glad it helped! I we heard of others experiencing relief with lymphatic massage. How great that you found someone with expertise in joint replacements!

Ha,ha...I've been thinking it would be nice to have a rehab place that's just for knee replacement patients where you have group and individual therapy along with pools, massage services, etc. Kind of like a camp where we can help each other out and be around others who understand. Would probably be motivational. Kind of like band camp. Play cards in the middle of the night when we can't sleep. No one would complain when we got grumpy...:rotfl::snork:

Ha! I'm in, too! Mireille, RMasano and I will head up the US locale and Cratchit and Spex10 can head up the UK/Scotland unit! We'll have one wing dedicated to the 'friendly handshakers' and another for us 'hugging bullies'! :roseshwr:

Night time recreation can be light Saber 'stick' wars, grocery cart races (electric and manual), and infomercial buying competitions! :yahoo:

And the best part would be our slogan "Have patience! Stay as long as you like"!
Maybe if we're lucky, we'd get some cameo appearances by all the BS nurses, mods, and advisors, too :snork:

Now if we can only get a financial backer! :heehee: (juuuuuust kidding)

I have just laughed my head off reading through this page! Best medicine ever! I love this forum!

I haven't posted in a few days, trying to fight off a bad case of the blues. I called my OS today with concerns of tight knot, not tight band, right above my knee on that muscle. It's holding me back from bending my knee further. Peace of mind when they tell me it will loosen up with time and I will gain ROM eventually. Told me not even to think of an MUA, which has been on my mind lately. I can walk without a limp, I can go up an 8" step without rails but stubborn ROM won't show up :flabber:. I'm at 2 months, I know, still early.

I woke up today and told myself it would be a good day and darn it, it will be because I said so.

Have a good day everyone!

So glad you got peace of mind from your OS. The blues I guess are going to be part of our journey!!! I hope you have a great day!!! Positive thinking!!!

So far it's been a good day. Went for a short walk, watered my plants, poor things were so thirsty, swept and doing some work from home. Trying to do normal things to keep my mind away from the knee. If I swell, oh well, I'll ice and elevate. Going for another short walk later and oh yeah, I'm going to mop my floors, never thought I'd be so excited to do that, lol.

I think I might even enjoy mopping the floors when the day ever gets here that I'm up to doing that. Don't join that club :)
