Skinny jeans? I've been dreaming about getting into skinny jeans for about, ooh, 20 years? So pleased for you and so pleased you're feeling so much better. Onwards and upwards!

Skinny jeans? What are those? :what:  I don't think I have ever fit into a pair of skinny jeans :heehee:

In all seriousness, I am so happy you had such a wonderful day. I must confess that I am jealous of your fruit market, as well. Here, we have great locally grown fresh fruit (you'd be surprised what irrigation in the desert can do), but it's all seasonal. Right now we are relegated to grocery store fare

It's so good to hear you did that without any pain! Way to go! Your body must have decided it was time to get ready for your trip to PR! :surfer:

Happy blinking green lights! :friends:

Hi all, so today I took a test drive to work to see how my knee would react. It's an hour away. I got there, saw my coworkers whom I've missed, went to lunch and came back home. 5 hrs. out of the house, 2 of those hours driving. Wow, my knee is so tight again. I don't think IT liked the driving. Icing and elevating today. My commute is not going to be fun!

I stuck an ice pack up my pant leg for the drive to work, just 30 minutes. When are you going back?

I wore an ice pack on the way there and then put it in the freezer at work but it didn't get cold enough, lol. I go back on 3/13, 12 weeks post TKR. I hope it's a bit better by then.

It won't be quite as bad at 12 weeks, but I'd still take ice for the drive and to use at work.

Apart from the drive @Mireille did you enjoy being back at work? Hard to tell in 3 hours I expect but I hope it was good to catch up with co workers.

Good test drive. I tried sitting in a chair for an hour then another two hour segment a week ago and wow siding work well, lots of swelling and stiffness. I was planning on taking old fashion ice pack (we have ice/water machines at work). Free refills for my pack that I figure I will use several times a day. Another option is ice right before you leave as well, get it in a nice spot before adding the drive time.

@agarrett I can now comfortably sit for a a while so that part should be ok. I will be able to elevate and ice while I'm there plus take some walks and that hopefully will help. I imagine it will get easier the longer I do it. It all goes back to time, lol

@KarriB Hi, i just noticed a soft, mushy, lump rift next to my incision. I don't know if you can tell from the pic. It's right next to the reddish looking area about 1 inch under the top of the incision. This is new. Do you have an idea of what this could be?

It's under the skin. It's a lump like when you bump your head. Next to the incision, not on the incision itself. The incision is ccompletely closed, no drainage, redness or hot.

It's a bit hard to tell from the photo, so I'll ask @Josephine what she thinks.

Do you think you could get another photo of it, maybe a bit closer up, with the light illuminating that part a bit more clearly?

In the absence of any other symptoms such heat, redness or pain, I surmise that it's just a localised lump of swelling. Strange but it looks pretty harmless to me.

Saw my OS today, glad I went. My lump is irritation of the soft tissue. Ibuprofen is my friend.

My implant looks good. I expressed my frustration and worries about my ROM, cried some, and he reinforced that my knee is doing great. Said that a lot of PT's like to scare you with numbers and that they use the numbers as a means to look better on paper. He said where I'm at today is not where I'll end up. That I don't have a history of scar tissue, I've had 21 surgeries in 15 years, and he's not concerned about adhesions with me. Told me to just keep doing what I'm doing, I'm walking well, minimal swelling and I'm doing great. Really helped to put my mind at ease. It was great hearing it from him since I trust him completely.

Now, just getting ready for my trip and going to try to continue to focus on other things.

Have a great day!

It can take a long time for soft tissue to settle down. I'm glad he put your mind at ease.
