TKR Mireille's RTKR 4 months

@L.I.T Thanks so much. It really means a lot and I'm grateful to have a friend through this process. I will also hold your hand through this road. We do have to get to our destination at some point. I'm sorry you're feeling like this too. I don't wish this on anyone!

BTW, my green lot is always on. Sending you big hugs too! :friends:

Just one of them days!

This journey is about good days and bad days. It is raining in the tunnel right now and you cannot see the light, but it never rains forever. Eventually the sun comes out!!!!

Me three! Me three! Love all you guys! (ha! Did I scare anyone with that? L.I.T watches all the green lights turn red :heehee:)

As you know I don't do hugs!! However, as this seems to be some sort of emergency, I could offer quite a warm handshake across the ocean.
This too shall definitely pass. Things could get much worse!!!! JOKING.
You and we will all be fine one day.

@Spex10, Ha ha ha! You have me laughing out loud! You are right that I could be worse, and we will likely all be fine by the end of the year.... Now if you could just convince my paranoid alter ego!

@L.I.T Hey, today is a better day than yesterday. Still struggling a bit, trying not to obsess over ROM but not winning that battle just yet.

On a positive note, managed to do a few full revolutions on my bike so that's a positive. :upright:
BTW, you had me laughing (much needed) with the red light comment. No red light here, Life sometimes finds you unexpected friends :friends:
How are you today?

I had a 'moment' this morning, but am trying to work my thinking around. Glad you have made progress! You know, I realize noone has had me ride a bike yet - I don't even KNOW if I could do a revolution! Maybe I need to go to the gym and get on one.... And if I can make a revolution, I can call it progress.

It is ironic that I have plenty of ROM, but it's not really 'functional' ROM. Leave it to me to get things backwards! (we actually have a 4x4 Jeep trail here named backazzwards LOL). I hope I didn't violate anything there. :scare:

Ha,ha..I'm a step ahead of you in the "violating rules" rules department. Oops..will tell you about it privately since I don't want to repeat it :censored:

Anyway, I bought a decent, economical recumbent bike from Amazon since my hip and knee OS's thought it was a good idea. Been rocking back and forth most days to help with stretching and gentle bending. I did backwards revolution a couple of weeks ago and then couldn't do it again until today. Forwards and backwards. Took a video as proof so people will believe me, pathetic, I know, lol.

I see improvement in functional stuff just ROM numbers feel stuck, we're opposites, lol. BTW, I've had several moments myself today but oh well, at least we know it's normal, you're not alone. :friends:

Many many hearts, @Mireille. We be there together, just two sides of the same coin! Thank you for the encouragement! I actually have a recumbent trike that I used to ride - my husband and I could connect them to be tandem when we wanted. It was great fun! If we had any room for an exercise bike, I would definitely get one! Unfortunately, Amazon has taken over our house and is holding us hostage! :yikes:

Ok gang don't give up the ship yet! How far are you into a 52 week recovery? I bet not very far at all. This is the hardest period. You're starting to feel a bit better and feel like your knee is lagging behind. Every change will be more gradual from here on out. How were you 2 days after surgery? Are you any better? I'm sure that answer is yes. Now you have to look at changes over a couple of weeks to see a difference. Are you able to do something today that you couldnt do three weeks ago. I bet you can even if it's a only by just a little. Throw the numbers away. That's the PT needing to justify treating you. Concentrate on function instead.
Hugs (or handshakes) to you all.

@newlybionic You're right. Thanks! I'm 8 wks today and yes, feeling much better than weeks ago. This knee is consuming my thoughts, time patience, energy. I know time will continue to make it better. It's just one of those days. Appreciate the encouragement and hugs!

Just musing on this thread (and trying not to think of unworthy connotations to do with a red light and wondering what violations @Mireille has been up to) and debating whether it can actually rain in a tunnel and if by the fact of being in the tunnel and it raining outside, does that not actually mean that you`re in a good place? :loll:

It is early days and it`s a horrible phase to be in. So whatever colour the light is, have a hug :friends: except for @Spex10 in which case it is a warm but firm handshake (don`t do limp, soggy shakes. Ugh!)!

Re bike issues: I got a very good sturdy pedaler device from Amazon. Used with a chair it has the same effect as a recumbent bike. I can set it up easily and cycle away as I watch TV (and eat cake). It folds up so doesn't take up much room and has a timer and rev counter for those who like to measure progress. I vary the angle by moving it nearer or further from my chair or using a higher or lower chair.
I've not used it while on the loo yet. Now there's a lovely thought?!! I'll leave that with you...

Using a pedaler, on the loo, inside the tunnel with a rainstorm outside - thanks guys.... That is a vision I will carry with me all day - when in doubt, laugh!
