RestAssured I promise I will only ditch the crutches for outside if I'm allowed - I have (mostly) been good at doing what I am told as i am a little worried about doing anything which will cause my knee any problems. And I am considering having some (more) time out from work, I have budgeted that we can cope reasonably comfortably for a few months. Having had a year or so of poor quality of life with my family and lately I have had time to re-evaluate life and what is best for me and my family so I am not rushing into any decisions or commitments.
speccybecky and
kneeper i will ask tomorrow about sticks rather than crutches and I guess in public they are useful as a protection or a "keep away from my knee" aid!
As for 6 week check with OS tomorrow - it is the first time I will have seen OS and so I am trying to get a list of things together to ask because I am a useless patient if I don't make a list I go in answer any questions asked, come out and think of all the things I wanted to know!!!
I must admit I think I am doing OK (as reinforced by all you lovely Bonesmarties) but I really really hope he says I can drive as my OH who has been fantastic keeps having to stop work early, or miss days as we live fairly rurally and my children often need dropping off or picking up from activities (usually ony 15 - 20 mins away) and as he is self employed it is really messing up his work, so if I can drive it will be great and I will feel that I have some usefulness again!
I am also going to ask him about physiotherapy, I have only seen a physio assistant since discharge (a UK thing i think) and I would like to ask about exercises and possible massage as I do feel that some of the tightness is just under the scar running the lent of the scar approx 2" to either side. I also want to ask what specific "bobbly" bits of swelling are (I think I have mentioned before I am someone who likes to know EVERYTHING).
What has anyone used on their scar? I have been recommended Bio-oil - had anyone else used it? Does it help appearance of scar? - Thanks in advance x
Oh just read all that and it looks like I have typing diahhorea so I had better stop!
Shortie x
